I know we have our own thoughts and reservations about VAR regarding Celtic matches in particular; but I've just seen a blatant penalty denied for Man City (Sterling) on the same side of the penalty box as the linesman and twelve yards from the referee and both missed it.
As Ed has already mentioned there are referee mistakes and poor officials all over the place and this technology will embarrass them.

Sometimes VAR won't be the perfect thing.

But it certainly won't fail as much as the current method.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah because having ex-referees or current refs and linesman watching video replays and then agreeing with their fellow ref on the pitch will REALLY help cut out any errors.}

But there's no excuses. They can't say they only have split second to see it, they get the replays like us and if they still fail then they have no where to hide.

{Ed007's Note - And? Beaton had a clear site of the Morelos incidents, do you think fellow referees would overrule him using VAR? He said he seen them clearly and even weeks after it he still says he made the right decisions - VAR would just back up his opinion. As we've seen they don't need to hide now so what difference will VAR make? What if VAR decided a Celtic player should be sent off for something the ref didn't think was a red card offence, would you be happy?
If VAR can lead to match-fixing accusation in the Bundesliga think how easy it will be in Scotland even compared to now?
The suggested system is different from the one we seen at the World Cup where the ref looks at things again, now it'll be a panel of refs & linesman and probably become jobs for the boys for retired refs. Even when VAR has been used there's still wrong decisions being made so what exactly is the point of it? It's just another opinion being given that we can all argue about - or is VAR's decision final even when it's wrong?}

The only way people would ever accept VAR up here is if the panel consisted of foreign refs and even then you couldn't guarantee mistakes won't be made but then we wouldn't accuse the panel of favouring one team over another.

{Ed007's Note - 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Var is coming. To many people want it for it not to happen.

{Ed007's Note - It probably will and then we can add VAR to the list of things that make me not want to do this any more.}

Yip it is definitely coming. but think on this. The same bias referee and linesmen call a halt and refer it to. Wait for it. another few bias referee and linesmen. How will that help. if anything it only tries to legatimise the skulduggerry . the only way forward imho is unbiased, professional foreign referees.

{Ed007's Note - At least some people understand....

Well anytime I have seen VAR it has overturned Incorrect decisions which is fine by me.

However yes we do have corrupt refs here in Scotland but our board do little to chase any of this despite the blatant differences in their decision making.

Not really vars fault.
