Who would love our club and players to say we are not playing for an organisation or manager who helped Rangers cheat all the other teams in Scotland for over a decade?

Seems a bit unnecessary, the only ones who will suffer from that is the Scottish fans.

I'd be very disappointed if the club tried to dictate whether the players could play for their national team.

I’m very serious when it comes to the National team and I would agree ONLY until McLeish gets sacked, we need players to go on strike until he is sacked because he is running our country and national team into the ground, we need him gone before it’s too late and before we suffer even more embarrassing defeats in the nations league when we all know with the right manager, our team are a match for anyone with the right formation and players starting. Once we get a manager who knows how to actually manage a team and play modern football and gets the belief going, I’m sure everyone in Scotland will get behind the team again despite the corrupt organization. there is nothing we can do about that, our players love playing for there country. but right now they don’t under that truly awful manger who doesn’t know how to set up a team.

I can't say I agree as I have no interest in the national team. It is Celtic all the way for me and it angers me that our club are not bringing the SFA to task for their years of collusion in Rangers EBT scheme and granting of European Licences.

I can see both sides of this debate; and although I am firmly not a fan of any International football and see it as a hindrance to our already, long and difficult season and a potential
injury hazard - I appreciate any Celtic player who wants to represent his country - no matter what nationality.
As far as the Scotland set-up is concerned I have a bitter memory, as a kid being taken to Hamden and watching my hero Jinky - who was unceremoniously hauled off and replaced by Wullie Henderson - on the vitriolic demand of the 'Rangers End'.

Over the years there has been long controversy and extreme biased shown by the SFA against our club - or in favour of another and Celtic, I suppose are in a precarious position as far as vetoing the national side and the repercussions from Uefa/ FIFA?
on another smaller, maybe petty point I could never enjoy or support a team managed by a cheat and featuring runts like Naismith. The underlying, murky currents of Scottish football will always run deep because of the country we live in and it's roots.

Stephbhoy2, nah never said that my point is with OUR players aka Celtic, we are a match for anyone, they carry the team and make them play better, but to do that they have to have the right formation and tactics to do so as Brendan does for us weekly in the league. hence why we need a new manager who knows modern football, without our players the Scotland team is a mess bar a few played like Robertson etc. I never bothered with the National team in years or even growing up but when we had our group off players come through that done the invincible season like KT Griffiths Forrest Armstrong Brown McGrgeor even Gordon, it gave me hope our country could take us to a World Cup. sadly that never happend with another joke off a manager, but not as bad as Mcleish who is completely bonkers.

It's a good job most of us don't take International Football serious as we have two joke International teams we would support just now . Martin O'Neil's R O I is as bad a team just now that ever seen playing Senior Football . We all know when M O N took over Celtic he was brilliant could do no wrong . There were signs before he left his standards were slipping . During the spells he had at Sunderland and Villa his reputation slipped further.
However nothing could prepare the R O I fans for what they have to suffer when they watch their team now . Everyone knows that RO I isn't blessed with a team of stars but surely they are entitled to watch a well drilled team that knows what they should do and can create an odd bit of flair . He appointed Roy Keane as his assistant who seems to offer nothing, only fight with a couple of our better players . One of them Archer has left the squad, R O I have a very good youngster Irish parents he was born in London but he has played for R O I at all under age levels, Declan Rice, he has played 3 Senior Friendlies. England now talking to him and with Keane M O N shambles he is likely to switch to them .
Scotland are also in the doldrums and there is no doubt McLeish hasn't the ability to win anything without benefiting from EBTs . Again like R O I his team has no shame and no signs of having any worthwhile work done with them.

It's a section of the tartan army that ruin it and the guys above. A decent percentage hate the fact that the spine of the team and many of the good players in the squad have been involved or are currently celtic players. Fact. Boyata getting booed. There might have been the odd tim in that group but you can safely assume it was the rangers or anti celtic masses that contributed most to that noise. It was the only player on the park they could get away with hounding without being "unpatriotic". Give me strength. I hate going to Scotland games or even going to pubs with the mixed fan base. Or even having to listen to the awful patter of the ones that prefer the highland games or rugby chat about football. I avoid this where possible. I'll also confess to being a hypocrite as if i was in the position that I was called upon to wear the jersey, I would. I'd fight and battle for my own reasons on that park as many of our players have done. It's the knowing that a large section would rather you weren't there that would push me on.
Nothing is going to change. Celtic will continue to supply the national side with its players. Our youth set up and transfer dealings will see to that. As long as our players risk injury by playing, mgmt and the powers above bend and twist the rules, our players merely tollerated and shown zero respect then I cannot and will not waste my time backing this pantomime of h. unnery.

A Celtic fan has a fair cheek moaning about the filth booing Boyata playing for Belguim against Scotland . It isn't that long ago since the mouths amongst the Celtic support booed him because in their stupid opinion he wasn't good enough to wear the Celtic shirt, yet within 6 months he was playing well for Belguim in the World Cup finals.
