Ed this ones a bit left field but do you know if there's any interest in James McCarthy. I know his name was mentioned last week on this page. He was heavily linked with us in the January window in BR's first year before his injury. Not even sure if he's back fit yet but don't think he'll get near the Everton team given the amount of CM's they have now. Think a wee loan option would be a good shout similar to McGinn and could slot in for Broony if necessary.

{Ed007's Note - He's been back in light training for a few weeks but I think there's still a good bit to go before he's ready to play. I think our interest in him cooled after the injury, I think it would be January before he'd be ready to move on.}

Hi Ed what do u think to BR bringing back Boyata for Thursday? I am prob looking into this all wrong but my opinion is that no one has been identified to take Boyatas place or BR has been told there won't be anyone coming in to replace Boyata so he is staying.

Am surprised at BRs stance on it but he BR did say we will c over the weekend. Cause let's face it BR really holds Boyata in high regard he put him back into the team praised him every game so BR must have been the most pissed off let down so for BR to let him back possibly is very strange to me. There' must be more to this what do u think Ed.

The thing is ed, Brendan’s comments today regarding boyata were clear however can you picture the atmosphere the first time he struts out in front of the Celtic fans? We’ve got fans on here calling for unity etc but how could there be when there’s a guy like boyata kicking about when we all know fine well his hearts not in the cause. Then when the inevitable does happen and the support slaughter him we’re the bad guys for not supporting our player. Brendan just can’t play that guy it’s that simple for me.

BR should not have chucked him under the bus then unless he was getting rid of him. Now after turning everyone against him is bringing him back. Poor from BR, either get rid or don't publicly hang him out to dry. He will never be accepted by the supporters now.

Wasn't there talk in the last few years, of moving Lustig into the centre of defence, where he has played before, because of his knees or his hip or something, he just doesn't have it as s fullback any more, there should be no place for sentimentality, and the same goes for midfield, just because we are double treble winners, does not mean that everything was perfect, the midfield had been lacking for the last two seasons, and longer, there is no creativity, Rogic is just a more talented version of Windass, Paddy Roberts was just a good dribbler, there hasn't been a top class creative midfielder, someone who can be the focal point, the brains, the master in the middle of the field, McGinn could have been that, but he is gone, and it will cost a lot more than four million, to get his equal.

I too agree that Boyata should be hunted. I am also convinced our EL participation is doomed with our defence without him. It’s down to Lawell, so that means feck all will happen between now and Thursday and if thevchouce is play Boyata it go out, then Boyata plays. We would be confounding a disastrous start to the season to feel vindicated and that’s not a smart move.

Being in a situation where we need to play the big twat is Lawells fault. Do we miss out on any euro football because our Dithering cheapskate CEO has failed us all? I would rather Boyata left and he took Lawell with him. If Kawell can pick up his £1m bonus after what he has done then Boyata can play. We are in this situation because of Lawell not Boyata. He betrayed us more than Boyata ever coukd. We will play him because Lawell has given us no choice.

If he wants his disco lights to be used at all then we need to win this tie. Hendry will derail that and that won’t be the boys fault. It was a terrible signing on Rogers part and his career long failure to be able to sort a defence needs to stop.

Boyata will play unless we buy someone good this week. If anybody believes that will happen, that they will be match fit, that the lid of the tin will be cranked open, you need to make an appointment with the doc tomorrow morning.

Spite rarely works out the way we hope. Winning this tie is paramount. That sticks in my craw, but, being out of Europe would be much, much worse. Thanks for putting us in this position Lawell. I got one won’t forget where the responsibility for our current situation lies. Right outside your office door.

I think the Board are working with Boyata and agent for Boyata to play both Euro Qualifliers and in return Celtic and Boyata's agent will do everything possible to get Boyata's transfer before September 1st .
The alternative is for Boyata and agent to veto every suggestion of a deal Celtic come up with.
