But that’s the problem for us Brendan. Because we play in a poor league our players are generally sold for peanuts in comparison to so called better leagues.

The trouble is now unfortunately with no champions league these type of teams look a lot more favourable than ours . Be gutted if a bid is accepted as 8 in a row seems more important now than cash in the bank for one of our main players. If he goes in and says he wants the move where does that leave us. Hopefully stay together, sign a couple of players to improve us and win the league again because the way things have been going for us lately we are giving our challengers some impetus for the season.
I understand we do our business quietly but the fans could definitely do with a lift, as Porto have bid for Ntcham we aren’t even bidding for a player as yet. It’s rare that a bid is made, agreed, everyone happy all at once . There’s generally a bit of tooing and throwing but we are completely silent.

Unfortunately, Viking has hit the nail on the head, we are not quoted at all in Europe clout wise or financially and we just have to look at our foreign recent departures Wanyama and VVD to see how their valuation multiplied as soon as they played in England.
By all means we can hold out for the maximum possible bid, but the players and their agents have too much power and influence and our board are usually all to pleased to agree when it goes over the £10m.

Quite right Kev T SMSM have seen the panic and hand wringing by some of our supporters over our exit from Champions League . They noticed was loose of the tongue and the SMSM are now in to cause as much damage as possible.

So are you saying this total balls up should have been just accepted as what Celtic always do? The vast majority of fans have had enough of the boards cowardice when they need to get the players in we need.

The most alarming thing is nobody is surprised we have shot ourselves in the head.

Celtic need the money to balance the books. So quality players will be sold to be replaced by more projects.
