With the pfa poty award shortlist just being published and our own awards the other night I am amazed that one player who seems to be so under rated, even by our own fans at times, never gets quoted. Callum McGregor has been consistent across many positions this season and has scored some wonderful and important goals. I have been really impressed with him this season but he seems to be missed when award season is underway.

{Ed007's Note - I'd have had McGregor well in front of Forrest. It's unbelievable that Forrest has got in there with a good first half of the season - how can a Celtic winger that hasn't scored a league goal this year be up for POTY?}

I think a lot of the Forrest hype has come from the performance against Bayern tbh. He had a good run at the end of last year but he’s been off it recently.

I have to agree. Bar Brown, McGregor has impressed me the most this season. Like you say DD played several roles this season and has been consistently one of our better players. Sorry, but I have no idea how Forrest is on the list.

{Ed007's Note - I said at the start of the season after his European performances that I was going to lay off Forrest this season but he's had a very poor second half of the season and is back to the Forrest we've seen every year.
Scott Sinclair gets pelters for his poor form but Forrest must be up there alongside him for his form since the turn of the year.}

I agree he has done very little since his hat-trick against Thistle in the cup - when that should have given him a real boost for the run-in - but could he have been nominated around that time as I have a feeling the nominations are made several weeks ago?
Nonetheless, it's great to have two in contention and Broony more than deserves it - like he did last season and was strangely ommitted.

Only two players who have been consistent all season are broony and Tiereny. Calmac has had his moments but i don't think he's been anywhere near consistent enough, on par with Forrest this season. We really need paddy signed this summer, I hope he starts getting a game now and Forrest has been off the boil for weeks now.

The dip in form from Forrest seemed to coincide with Patrick Roberts and Hayes getting injured.
It seems to me that if Forrest thinks his place is under threat he ups his game, but when he knows his position is safe he gets lazy.

I hope McGregor is rewarded with a long term deal it would be well deserved. I think he can become one our most important players over the next couple of seasons.

Can't disagree with that gerry. Maybe sinclair could do with serious competition too, he's not got the same swagger about him even though his stats are good. Hopefully he gets it back soon, with masunda and Morgan breathing down his neck that might do the trick.

I can't figure McGregor for player of the year but he has come to the fore in a major way. Great to see he is admired. Definitely played well in key games for us this year so if that's a criterion I think its a fair call.
