Ed. Do you think that with Leicester wanting Patrick Roberts as part of the Mahrez to Man City transfer it Will scupper any hope we had of being able to sign him permanently? .
I know he is keen to try and make it at City, but I wonder what his feeling would be about being shunted to Leicester as a makeweight in any deal.

{Ed007's Note - Roberts wasn't part of any offer for Mahrez, for a start there's no recall clause in his loan. When the story broke it was meant to be City offered Roberts until the media realised he couldn't be recalled and that made City look stupid they changed it to Leicester asked for Roberts.}

Thanks for that Ed. It doesn't look as if he has much of a future at City.

{Ed007's Note - That's been the case for a while, Gerry.}

Don't doubt u for a second ed but what does anyone gain by saying Roberts was the reason the deal was scuppered, just can't get my head round the media, saying that doesn't make the deal more sensational down south. Unless it was the Scottish media, they're a different kettle of fish.

{Ed007's Note - Read the stories, Steph, they contradict each other. I notice nobody's asked Brendan Rodgers about it either which is very odd, you'd think the Celtic manager would know something about it.}

Ed. you not suggesting that the Journo's in Englandhsire are just as rotten at their jobs as the Mob of Sports Writers have in Sconnie Botland?

{Ed007's Note - Have you read The S*n or the Daily Star? They're no better than a comic and like in Scotland most of their 'stories' originate on Tw@tter.}

Even if a deal for Mahrez was to materialise in the summer, the player would have to agree to the move. If a PL club are serious about getting Roberts then that pretty much rules us out unless City are willing to accept a lower offer from us. When teams like Brighton can afford to chuck £10m at a player as a punt what chance do we have?

{Ed007's Note - As you say, Kev the player would need to agree to the move and what if Roberts decides he doesn't want to move to Brighton?}

Poor Brighton lol. They’re always getting stick like this but tbh they are the perfect example.

{Ed007's Note - Them and Burnley, Huddersfield, West Brom and Bournemout, best league in the world my arse!}

It's funny a was looking at the premiership table earlier and thought to myself that they teams like Blackburn n that, that just missed the gravy train must be ragin with the dross that's in there. Not that I've got any sympathy for any of the teams down there.

{Ed007's Note - Blackburn, backed by Jack Walker's money were only a smaller version of Man City and they were never going to sustain being a 'big' club but clubs like Leeds, Villa, the two Sheffield clubs, even Nottingham Forest would all bring a lot more to the EPL than clubs like Huddersfield and Burnley. Fair enough they need to earn the right to be there but look at THESE average Championship attendances compared to
href="https://goo.gl/62MtLM">THESE EPL attendances and you can see there's not much difference but if say Leeds or Wolves were in the EPL their grounds would be bursting at the seams on matchday. A lot of the club's in the Championship have a history and supporters all over the world who would pay to watch EPL football but there isn't many Burnley fans in places like Asia or Australia.}

That's why my dad says Celtic will end up down there or in some super league one day ed.
When these teams are showing their own games on pay per view who do they want to play. The team with 5 fans and a dug or a team with millions of fans all round the world?

{Ed007's Note - I think it'll eventually happen but we're a long way away from Celtic being involved in any planned Super League.}

I read somewhere that Sky pay £11m for each match they show live.
I wonder if they had Huddersfield V Bournemouth in mind when they signed that deal.

{Ed007's Note - It's bonkers, Gerry and I think with the likes of Netflix and Amazon and BT of course out there it's just going to get worse. I honestly think there's people out there - probably in the US and Asia - that are actually EPL fans rather than support one particular club.}
