See Hanni that played for Anderlecht moves onto Spartak Moscow, 7.2 million. He was good against us but if he is 7.2 million then what was broony worth when he was 27? In today's market surely he would be at least Trebel that. Will never find a captain like broony again and I'm scared for his retirement.

Hard to tell but I think Broony is a better player now than when he was 27.

KenLikeEh Broony has earned the right to be considered a great Celtic captain and a true Celt. And as you say he won't be easy to replace. His game against Man City will live long in the memory and he has replicated that performance fairly consistently since. ☘️.

Under Ronnie he lost his way. Under Brendon he has been superb. Prefer when he is playing in a more forward position where he can close down and push us forward rather than when he sits in front of back 4. He has a great football brain and a true Celt. He will take some replacing.

I agree JFP an absolutely amazing player for Celtic. Don’t think he’ll ever walk away from the club. Will always be invoked for the rest of his career.

Let's hope he can keep it up for 3 more years and be the captain for the full 10 in a row.

No one will know how far Brown could have gone on the game because he was too frightened to test himself at a higher level. He likes being the big fish in the little pond. But I'm sure when he retires he will always wonder if you could have made it in the EPL. He did have offers a few years back but didn't have the bottle to take them up.

Tbh I think Hanni is a much more fwd thinking player than Brown and absolutely bossed us at Parkhead.

for 7m euros that looks like a bargain from what I seen anyway. He had lots of energy as well.

@johnnymac - In Deila's first season Brown was outstanding. Second season he was injured.

One thing Brown can’t be called is a bottler Zicos, in his time at Celtic, he’s reached the last 16 of CL twice, played against some of the worlds best players and usually played ok and got pass marks even when the team lost, he certainly isn’t a bottler, but if that makes you feel good sitting at your laptop/ phone, typing stuff like that, then that’s up to you.

Up there with the very greatest of Celtic captains. I loved his interview before Xmas when he said there will be no club after Celtic. Hope when he retires there is a place for him at the CP. He loves Celtic.

Zicos you must be throwing out a line! Il bite lol.
Scott Brown has built a legacy at our brilliant club, has a 96% passing percentage in the CL. Never complained once, while dealing with his sisters death even though he was getting it side ways from fans and the media about his form dipping. Great captain and great player and has earned his status as a legend.

Zicos, u probably don't remember but the hard man of the EPL Barton came up to a new. Club to show Brown what real football was like . IT didn't go well for Barton.

{Ed001's Note - do you even know who Barton is? He was never a 'hard man' of anywhere. He had not even played in the EPL the season before he moved up north to Scotland. The guy is a cowardly piece of dung, to put it nicely, who only argues with young children.}

Haha zicos got a wee sneaky one in there didn’t he! Frightened and a bottler eh! Sounds like someone is frightened about the thought of broony lifting the magically number 10 to me! We all feel your pain son but it is going to happen! And when he retires and has a Wee look in his trophy cabinet at all his medals, the last thing he’ll be thinkin about is the EPL! lol.

Never thought such an honest review would get such a childish reaction. Scott Brown is a good player (opinion) but he has refused the chance and therefore will never have the chance to prove himself at a decent level (FACT) .

03 Feb 2018 09:59:31
Obviously struck a nerve! IMHO (not trying to wind anyone up) I think Brown could have played at the highest level, but he hasn't - he currently plays in a league outside the top 20 in Europe! . He like any athlete should want to perform at the highest level and test themselves against the best opposition. All I'm simply saying is Brown had this opportunity and passed it up. Some people might say he is happy where he is, some people might say he stayed for family reasons. I say he bottled it because in my opinion those reasons aren't good enough.

Na ziko not buying it son! your trying to sound like your giving an honest balanced opinion but u can’t fool us mate! your terrified of broony lifting number 10 and your trying to have a go at him. Broony has made it clear how much he loves celtic and maybe that means more than chasing the pot of gold in the promise land! At Celtic he’s played against Messi xavi Ineista Pirlo Neymar Cavani lewandowski and many many more! It doesn’t get higher quality than that, so your taking absolute nonsense! So away back with the rest of the deluded, I’m sure there’s plenty over there who will listen to your Shoite!

Ed001 keep calm, I was only posting what Barton and the Rangers fans thought?
Did Barton play for Liverpool for a few seasons?

{Ed001's Note - of course he did not.}

20.) 03 Feb 2018

The thing that people ignore/ miss is that playing with Celtic brings a pressure that does not exist in the vast majority of EPL teams and that is playing to win every game, seriously competing for trophies, European football, defending your titles and International football.
Obviously there are a handful of EPL teams that offer this, but they pursue players from European/ world elite leagues - not Scotland.

LH86 getting humped 6 games in the champions league every other year is not playing at the highest level. If you class a Celtic great as a player who bosses the the 27th best league in Europe, then it's you who needs help.
