would still have been 5/ 6 regardless of a non make shift defence

most important goals were scored by byern

roll on next game, its really the only one that mattered in the whole group.

The bottom line is we don’t belong in the CL! They only thing elite about our club is the fans! That was an utter embarrassment once again tonite but it’s becoming all to familiar! To have bitton on at right back is scandalous IMO! This guy isn’t even good enough for his normal position but he’s playing against the best front 3 in world football! Yeh we all know that team are streets ahead of us and that’s what money buys you, but to lose by 7 goals against any team is shocking! Did I expect to win? No I didn’t but there’s getting beat and there’s being humiliated! Again our lack of transfer activity comes back to haunt us! Our priority in the summer should have been defence but what do we bring in,4 midfielder and a striker that would be as well staying in Paris for the amount of timed we’ve actually seen him play! Love Brendan to bits just like everyone else but his European record is shocking! His refusal to adopt a more defensive style against these teams means that games like tonite will happen on a regular basis! I’m a realist and I get the spending power these clubs have but to me CL money isn’t worth watchn my club humiliated time and time again!

How can you say we don't belong in the CL, We are the champions of our league and deserve to be there more than the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams from the "so called" big leagues. plenty of teams get a drubbing from teams in the CL because of the finances available to certain nations. We went to Anderlecht and beat them 3-0 but a team that spent over £90m in the summer could only beat them 2-1.
Maybe uefa should change it and only let the top 4 teams from the top 6 nations and forget about everyone else, I'm sure that would make a lot of fans happy!

Well said Lh86. I have to agree with you there mate. I have said it on here before that we are simple only making up the numbers like a lot of teams in pot's 3 and 4. But l have to say BR cannot keep saying he's not going to change his style against these big sizes. I love BR to bits and he has done an amazing job with our club but l am afraid there comes a time and place to say we can't compete against the big clubs. Trying to play the same as we do in the spl in the champions league is madness. There is only going to be one winner and it's not us. We unfortunately just don't have the players to compete at this level against the top sides and players they have.

BR and the coaching staff need to relies there is nothing wrong in setting up your team in a defensive way. Like we done under lenny and other against man u, Barcelona and Milan.

It's so hard to sit and see the bhoys get hammered so much and so often this year when you see how hard it is to get there. As l said l love celtic and everything BR has done but if they decides to continue the same path against the top side who have the big money to spend in the champions league then these results will continue. Like Lh86 l didn't expect us to get anything out of the game but not a 7 - 1 hammeting. And l don't think it's fair on the players and fans. Sorry rant over!

I don't feel humiliated.

That's possibly the best club team in the world at the mo and in the world pecking order we would probably ranked at Average.

fitba after xmas was the goal. league in the bag. cups would be nice.

If we go into another season with a makeshift anything my patience will run out.

Thats a poor result. Ed has said we should not be playing here for years however we need the money so we can buy and keep quality players (at our level) . I know BR says there is no other way to play but he needs to make us more difficult to break down in europe. So we are really selling our soul for the money. Don't know what else we can do.
