Ed, what did you make of BR comments on LG after the game? I hope this is not a serious affair, would hate to see LG fall away, for his own well being and Celtics.

{Ed007's Note - LG seems to be falling into old habits and is obviously not applying himself in training. The thing is, RD was saying the exact same things last year about the mentality of Scottish players.
Since day one when Rodgers invited Scott Brown down to his home for dinner he told him what he expected from his players and the need to be a 24 hour athlete to be the best you can and the importance of nutrition and eating right - all the changes RD made are still in place and some have been improved under Rodgers. Rodgers - like most modern managers - is more focused on the importance of sports science etc than RD was.

'Leigh’s a very important part of what I’m looking to do, and will continue to be. He’s a brilliant striker but he has to be fit and available, and to be fit you have to look after every part of your life. This is not slight on his enthusiasm. He’s a great boy and we have a great relationship.
What I answered, I answered when asked the question of him going forward, and it’s very simple. He needs to develop that mentality. This is his life as a professional player. You can’t just settle for what you’ve got. Be the very best you can be. Nutrition in modern sport is very important.
He’s clearly a talent. But if we’re going to be a Champions League club consistently then you need a Champions League mindset. Otherwise you’ll be playing somewhere else and that goes for anybody.'

If RD had said that he would have been crucified. A striker who scored 40 goals for us last season isn't living the lifestyle the Club demands, he either shapes up or ships out. And remember when Rodgers was asked about LG scoring 40 goals last season his answer was 'I wasn't at Celtic last year'.
Or should we get rid of Rodgers for talking all this rubbish about nutrition etc?
And I'm absolutely delighted that Rodgers is talking us up as a CL club, finally we're starting to act like a big club.}

ED007.Good to hear yer on BR's side now. after all of your negative comments re him in the past. Him and his 'bit of fluff' and all that.

{Ed007's Note - I don't remember being negative, I remember having some reservations after spending 2 years laughing while reading the Liverpool fans discuss his numerous mistakes and his downright bizarre decisions.
Is it negative to say I think he's made mistakes in the last 2 games by not starting with a recognised striker on the pitch, is it negative to question why Rodgers decided to play, Calvin Miller, a player voted one of the best in the world playing as a forward at LB?.}

Edd07 you make mistakes like everyone, I do recall your views when BR was appointed.

{Ed007's Note - So having a valid opinion and not wetting my panties like some daft wee lassie over Rodgers appointment was me making a mistake? I hardly think so.
So go and dig out all these negative posts I made, it's easy enough to do.
Unlike a lot on here I'll back whoever the Celtic manager is even if I have reservations about them, the new manager just so happened to have given me two years of hilarity as he blundered his was through Liverpool, the way he behaved and how nothing was ever his fault.

goo.gl/MQmgB0

And there's plenty more reports of his crazy decisions like the team he sent out to face Madrid in the CL.
Just because someone becomes Celtic manager doesn't erase history and their mistakes. Liverpool fans have a far different opinion on Rodgers than Celtic have, you should ask some of them - ask Ed001 - or doesn't that fit your perfect wee vision of him?}

Ed007 do you ever think Miller will get a crack up front? I'd love to see him get a chance up top if he was so highly rated there in the past.

{Ed007's Note - Probably not - he'll probably become what's known in Liverpool as being 'Brendaned'.}

No one ever disputed the importance of nutrition, in fact that was about the only string to Ronnies bow that he was any good at, in fact am sure some of us even called him a nutritionist, with his crazy team selections, even crazier tactics and formations, and mad substitutions, not to mention his post match interviews, he certainly was'nt a football manager.

{Ed007's Note - And yet without him we'd only be sitting on 97 trophies and 3 leagues in a row. Maybe we just shouldn't count the trophies he won. I wonder what Kieran Tierney and Leigh Griffiths thought about RD as a manager, even Tom Rogic who had never been fitter and played 39 games last season.
Wouldn't you class Celtic playing 4-3-3 at home without a recognised striker on the park a crazy team selection? RD got pelters for playing one up front - Rodgers does every match and there's not a peep about it, he then goes one better and plays with none, TWICE!!, and nobody seems to bother.}

Brendan got Liverpool closer to the title than any other manager has done for years. I will be forever thankful we got him and not that idiot Moyes!

{Ed007's Note - And what a laugh that was. As they say, second is just the first loser.}

Bit of a difference in how the team are playing from last season compared to last.

I think we are seeing a very different man now in BR.

He was a bit of an arse at Liverpool and that stupid ch5 documentary was a horses arse of an idea - as it made him look like a horses ares.

I think since then he is humbler - and learned a lesson - and now at a team like celtic he is rebuilding his reputation as man manager and a good tactician.

I always want the best for celtic and when he was appointed I was disappointed. I want someone in high demand at the top of their game - but we ain't going to get PG or JM (would you really want them) . I think now - he is the best we could get in the current set up and with his point to prove, we are a good fit for him too.

{Ed007's Note - He certainly looks to have learnt a lot and comes across a bit more humble for want of a better word - and he can work the media up here in a way they've never came across.
The Channel 5 documentary was another high profile cock up with hilarious consequences.}

Brendan has the potential to be the best Celtic manager since Jock Stein. If the board back him property then I believe he can get us competing properly in the champions league.

I don't see the point in bringing up the past . We should only judge Rodgers on what he Does here. If he could screwed up at Liverpool too bad . he hasn't screwed up here yet. Another point about this unbeaten season. I would rather bring the young bhoys through than go unbeaten.

I'm one of the guilty 1s that called Ronnie D a nutritionist. It seems BR has that mentality also but has a few more strings to his bow.

What's even funnier is the state Klopps got them in they are terrible, but agree ed the ch5 doc was horrendous.
