Is it true that Desmond, Bankier and Lawwell take 5 million out of the club every year, for commission on shares and salaries.
If so, they should sell up and move on to pastures new.

You want them to work for free like?
Shouldn't share holders get their dividends?

The bats right the big cats need their share of the spoils but we should also have money being spent on new players which just doesn’t seem to be happening.

Jesus, sjaldad surely you must have some kind of understanding of how businesses and shareholders work 😂.

Sorry, fellas, but holding shares in a company is NOT work.

Its capital. To sacrifice everything else-growth, transfers, staff salaries (recently below the living wage) , season ticket prices and allocations, merch--to make sure the board take home a fat cut is avaricious at best and fetishistic "free market" exploitation at worst. It would absolutely explain the asset-stripping.

Investors not Celtic fans, investors need profit on their investments . Unfortunately that the way .

This is the second time you have asked this question sj PL is on a salary and his bonus is nig indexed link to success / balance sheet, please be reassured that he could be better paid elsewhere in football I have no idea what DD takes but it will be bare minimum / remuneration if anything. Bankier has made his money but will be salaried again you are talking about the former governor of the bank or a post like that if money was his motivation he also would be elsewhere other than Celtic.

Calvacanti I've witnessed some absolute howling statements on this forum, but this one takes the biscuit! So because Celtic are a football club, normal PLC operations do not apply?

You are oblivious to the fact that shareholders don't work. They have built their wealth on networking through business contacts. Contacts that will have assisted the growth of business side of club. This includes football contacts and most likely pipelines between our club and others will have been established through shareholders!

Desmond is worth 2 billion Euros, that's 1.7 billion pounds. Why take the 2 million a year, just because he owns 30% of the club?
He owns a great toy and he doesn't seem to want to play with it.

What do you mean he owns a toy? Where you getting the £2 million a year from? He owns 43% of the club ( I think )

Bankier is a non executive chairman and I doubt he takes six figures from the club but it might be.

I had to look it up one report says it's 34.9% I thought it was more than that 👍.

Philtim: what you call "normal plc operations" are precisely what I am questioning. Its not an original point at all, but an established rebuttal of Chicago-school economics on steroids. Thanks for the biscuit, and enjoy your neoliberal dystopia today.
