Ed007, any truth in the rumour that Broony is staying on a new 2 year deal? Saw it on a fairly disreputable site (HITC) where the Melbourne guy Lou Sticca supposedly said they were disappointed he wasn't going to them but they wished him well at Celtic. HH.

{Ed007's Note - Most places are reporting it now.}

I hope so Ed. He still has a lot to offer overall. Anyone remember what happened when he was written off a few seasons ago? He ended up giving us 2 incredible seasons of quality and leadership. I think he has it in him to do it again. HH.

{Ed007's Note - I've never written Brown off any of the other multiple times plenty of supporters (and his critics outside the Club) were but theses days I think it's a case of the mind is willing but the body might struggle.}

He will end up doing what Lambert did. Coming on and helping see out games or in for games we need a bit of steel in midfield.
He brings so much more than just what he does on park though and I am glad he's staying.

A big problem with our team is that it lacks experience through the middle.

I feel like a lot lies on Brown, which at his age is difficult to do alone.

We Really should have a few more experienced guys about to take the load off and to help take more pressure off our young or inexperienced players.

I'll admit I wrote him off at the end of Deila's time but was delighted when he proved me wrong. However he's a couple of years older now and chances are he won't recapture that form but he will still have an awful lot to offer - even just his presence.

Scott Brown staying is a wonderful piece of news. He's been a tremendous servant and thoroughly deserves a two year deal. Yes, he's probably been told he won't play every week, but to have his experience and leadership around the club is priceless. Also, I'd imagine he asked the gaffer what his plans for the future were before committing himself. Great news.

Scott Brown when he is out injured I feel takes a few extra games to get back in his stride. Hopefully a run of games will do him good because I feel that after last old firm, he will hit them hard in next old firm.

Tesla you say no experience but at what point do we credit mcgregor or Forrest with experience?

Forrest’s been around a while, mcgregor must be 24-25?

Sinclair not exactly young or rogic so midfield has a fair bit experience.

Brown staying is excellent news, can’t only be a good influence but imagine having another mid 30’s Guy in there with him and bang and the pace is gone.

I think I mentioned this before but there was a lot of speculation that Bobby Lennox was finished on the day of the 1972 cup final and he actually played his last game for Celtic about 8 or 9 years later.
