Linked today with a Porto right back called fonseca. He’s been loaned out a couple of times already and apparently is available for less than 2million. Haven’t seen him but if there’s any substance to it, it would seem we are well down our list of right backs. Started the window with talk of 6milion Belgian, then a 4 million Norwegian, now a 2 million under 21 player who can’t get in his own side .

Only 21 and Militao who is currently being chased by Real is Porto's main RB and has played every game for them this season so not surprised the lad can't in the team.

Report said Juve were looking at him in the summer, if true the lad must have something about him. Lad's contract is coming to and end which would explain low value.

Have a look at his Wikipedia account. A celtic fan seems glad we are after a eight back haha.

The Belgians club are quoting 10 million for him and he said he wants to play in one of the top leagues.
The Norwegians club have said he's going no where. So I fail to see how that's lawwels fault.
Isn't that the whole point of having a list?

Just because it's rumoured doesn't mean it's true. We might never have been after the Belgian. We will see who is in come end of the window then we can moan or praise the signings.

The £6M Belgian was struggling to get into his own side not so long ago Quinn. This obsession with transfer fees is baffling. We've already shown that if the value is there, the club are willing to spend good money. Tbh from any clips etc I've seen I think Elabdellaoui looks much better than Castagne but that's only YouTube I suppose.

We’re never going to pay £6m for a right back, nor would we pay £4m for a 28 year old. £2m for a former U-21 aligns with our transfer policy.

I agree with you Kev Bhoy regarding the Norwegian, from the boys I’ve seen he seems to be the better option. With regards to them saying they don’t want to sell, realistically what does that mean nowadays . We didn’t want to sell loads of players but if a buying club puts up the money we and the majority of clubs around all change their mind. If we really wanted him we may have to pay what they want within reason.

Exactly quinn within reason but if a club ain't willing to sell then it takes big money to get the player.

Quinn and Kev, from the paper talk it would appear that someone, somewhere thought, or was told, Castagne was worth about €6M. Then all of a sudden Lazio, Fiorentina etc. are "interested" and then the price is €10M. If any of this is actually true but none of these other teams bid then that price may well drop again. I did read something saying the player himself was pretty uninspired by the idea of playing in Scotland - again though, God knows who these "sources" actually are.

Wouldn't mind us going for someone like Petar Stojanovic at Zagreb. Big Benko could sell him on a move and wouldn't cost too much. Remember him doing well against us while at Maribor.
