Some quarters saying a final bid of 2m take it or leave it. typical.

We sell a 20mill striker and his poss replacement is in the 2m bracket and we baulk at the fee we never learn lawell at his best.

That 20 million striker was bought in at under a million.
That's how we work. How hard is that to understand.
Bring them in make them better sell them on.

Let's think about this rationally. How would the papers know what we have and haven't done in terms of bidding for a player?

I very much doubt the people involved are running to the paper to tell them every intricate part of the process as it happens. Which would suggest the papers are just guessing or are being fed from someone else professing to be in the know but who is also just guessing.

They don't all have to cost under a million Kev83. We can push the boat out and pay 5mil to make 20mil. Still buisness. Jesus, we could spend 10mil to make 20. Obvioulsy not us, but your statements ish.

That's right kev think a get that my point is there's 20 mill from the dembelle deal and were haggling over a couple of hundred thousand . How hard is that to understand.

Holy I don't care how much we spend as long as the we get the right players.
But to say stop buy cheap because we have 20 million from dembele who we bought CHEAP is mental.
If we weren't buying cheap with him we would have missed out on the 20 million.

I get your point Kev but once that business model has borne fruit to the tune of millions upon millions, shouldn't we then start to spend a bit extra for a more established level of player who we could still sell for big profit in 2 or 3 seasons whilst also improving our levels on the field? I'm happy with us going for this lad because we did spend big on Eddy but if we could do it in a couple of other key positions we could really kick on.

Kevbhoy here's a question? Will spending the 5 10 or 20 million on one player guarantee that they will be more successful than the million pound player?
Or would it be better to scout properly and puck the best player for what we need?

Remember edouard cost around 9 million and he was a youth player.
A fecking youth player.

I think what a lot of guys fail to grasp is, the money from the Dembele sale will be in next year's accounts and probably most of it will fill the hole of no champions league money and go to the wage bill.

It takes a hell of a lot of money to provide ist class facilities, playing, coaching and training for our players . We may not be able to match the EPL wages but we have to do our darnest to give them the best facilities possible . These facilities are important in attracting top and Kung players who will eventually leave at big profit . Celtic shouldn't buy in a £10-12 or £15m player as no doubt it would create a problem in our close net dressing room.

Kev83 nothing is a cert but I think an example of kev Bhoys point is benkovic, we had a chance at him last year for 6 or 7 Mill, baulked at the fee n now look, we'd bite the hand of Leicester for him.

I suppose we have with ntcham and eddy but If you have faith in the process release the funds.

That all I am saying and kevs went mental just push the boat out a wee bit more. why lose a player we obviously want because of a few hundred grand it's nuts.

Some people just want to spend the money, as a sort of symbol, like if you spend £5million on a player then you are guaranteed to get a good player, (wakey, wakey, no you are not) , and if you spend £1million on a player then you are guaranteed to get a not as good a player as the £5million pound player (again, wakey, wakey) , so these people would be quite happy if we spent £5million or more on an inferior player than the one we could get for £1million, because at least the board were showing intent.
