No chance. You just need to look at his demeanor over the summers shambles to answer your question.

We've had 4 loans that I can think of under Brendan and 2 of which we signed after.

Operating in the loans market?
5 loans
Bain - signed
Edouard - signed
Roberts - tried to sign.
Daniel Arzani - reported option to by but need to wait and see
Benkovic - probably out our reach.
Clown fae Chelsea sent packing.

Dembele
Compper
De vries
Hayes
Sinclair
Morgan
Hendry
Gamboa
Toure
Ntcham
Benyu
Kouassi
Izzy

So out of 19 signings 15 of them have been permanent signing and one may have an option to buy.

So please explain how is operating in the loan market?

Robroy1967,
That’s a really un-thought through comment.

Celtic has always had loanees in the modern era. Brendan would have expected it.

Loanees are normally high value players, sometimes beyond our financial reach. Big Filip is doing an excellent job and is worth £13m. Brendan will be happy he’s there helping to bring Brendan success.

It’s a great situation Celtic can attract such quality. It raises the game in Scottish football and is good for the whole game up here.

If you’re suggesting Brendan won’t get a sell on % cut of loanees, that might be there with contracted players then that’s a very mercenary attitude and would depend upon Brendan’s contract which I’m sure you haven’t seen.

Grey Heid Bhoy I reckon it was a fully thought through comment looking for bites.

Agree Kev, what could a Celtic fan have to gain from such a play?

I don't mind a loan if it's a top. quality player. Roberts, Benkovic and Edouard are like somewhat our new marquee players. We can't afford/ refuse to pay for players like this (Edouard excluded) but agree if we are more strudent in recruitment we could have the bones of a great team. We all know here we need to invest just wish we would but 2 players a season in the mould of Ntcham. Promising youngsters waiting to step up to forst team. With the odd experienced player coming in too.

the reason i asked the question wasnt loaded.
i just want a settled team to go for ten.
loan signings can cause uncertainty with clauses
that you need to play them. we have the cash so let's splash
it and show that mob what power we have. and i think brendan would like that flexibility also.

It’s a three way balancing act:
1. Buy talented players (cheaply if possible)
2. Develop youth from Reserve Squad
3. Bring in proven loan talent

I think we get the balance right. You’re not going to get all three right. Giving youth game minutes can cost points and it’s a big step up for them (Hendry and Johnstone) .

The big failure is if you buy a player and he’s costly and a dud.

Loan players can be sent back in the next window if they’re gash.

ghb i do agree with your logic but it can put off players from coming if they think a loan player will get preference. i am just impatient i want to spend 150 million but then i don't want to end up like the immoral mob. i am new to this forum stuff and do apologies if i started of wrongly.
