Sunderland want calvin Miller on loan?

I’d send him and Ralston down to Sunderland to get game time, as it stands neither of them are ready to play in our first team .

Ralston was doing well until he got injured he should be looking to make the RB position his own this season.

Ralston would have had some serious game time under his belt if he hadn't got injured.

From what i’ve seen of him in our first team I can say i’ve been overly impressed, Lustig is still the best right back at the club .

Ralston is not even a tenth of the player Tierney was when he broke through.

I’ll say it now, Motherwell player in a few years.

Ralston I don’t think has what it takes. I too think he’s a Motherwell level, possibly Aberdeen or Hibs. wishful thinking or hoping doesn’t alter that. We need a right back capable of taking over from and hopefully even better than Lustig.

We need to buy that as we don’t have anywhere near that level currently.

Probably in with the same crowd that thought MacGregor wouldn’t cut it. Give the boy a chance and see how he progresses if he was a foreign lad we wouldn’t be as quick to judge he’s only 19!

Well, McGregor has had one really good season for us so let’s not get carried away just yet.

He also left for a while on loan at a more competitive league that our own championship.

I compare Ralston to Tierney when he broke through not McGregor so I’m confident that he is in no shape or form be our future RB. Nothing I’ve seen indicates otherwise and I’d happily come on here in 2 years and hold my hands up if I’m wrong.

I would like to know what games people watched that made them think Ralston was the real deal. I must have missed that one. He is strong and robust but lacks awareness both going forward and defending in the games I’ve watched him. Nothing would be better if he was good enough, but, being a dyed in the wool tim isn’t enough.

Similar to Kev I will be delighted if he proves us wrong. But what if he doesn’t? Should we not get in a really good RB and let them fight it out? He us only 19, but again, if you have it, you have it. He reminds me of 80’s defenders, strong, hard tackling but light on technical ability.

KT is the benchmark, not Ralston, keep him and give him a chance to develop, but right now, for me, he isn’t good enough for the CL and that has to be the level we aim for to progress.
If he has what it takes after Brendan improves him great. If he doesn’t we have a player to do the business if we recruit.
KT took wee Izzy’s place. Ralston needs to do the same or he will be loaned then sold. It’s in his hands and I hope he turns into a brilliant player as I do with all our young players. It seldom happens though and that’s just a fact.

Glad you ain't the manager Kev T all you have done recently is criticise the club. Comparing Ralston to KT. KT is a left back. Why not compare him with Lustig or Gamboa the actual players he is competing with for his position. God help our youths coming through if you are comparing them all to KT who is the first world class youth player that has come through in decades. Ralston has done nothing wrong when playing and did well on loan and was outstanding for Scotland youths recently. Give the boy a break and get behind him one read of your comments and you will put the boy of football for life!

For godsake Mp you are just as bad. What games have you seen that he was as poor as you and Kev T are making out. I have high hopes for Ralston and expect him to make that position his own. I certainly ain't judging him on a performance against the worlds most expensive player, as people on here seem to be doing.

It’s opinion having watched him. You think he’s going to be great. We don’t. We want you to be right though, but that doesn’t mean we believe he will be the player you think.

Time will tell. He just isn’t good enough right now. Nowhere near it, if you think he is your drinking too early. :)

Or his agent.

Agrree Stan.

So MacGregor has had 1 good season and we have to calm down before we make a judgement but yet Ralston didn’t even have half a season and you can judge?

20 Jun 2018 11:49:02
Not had a drink since Hogmanay mate. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion i just believe we as fans, especially on here are far too quick to be critical. We can't keep comparing others with KT. Look at my point about Calvin Miller yesterday, he is being unfairly judged by being made to play out of position. No way i would criticise that lad, hopefully the decision to play him there and not left wing is reversed asap. As with Ralston i have seen enough to be hopeful he will make it at CP.

Poor Stan have I upset you by saying it like it is

If I’m not happy with something I say it and when we do good business I applaud it like the rest

If I was boss then Ralston would be told sorry pal but Gamboa is a better player and he ain’t good enough and sign a RB that is good enough for Europe.

17.) 20 Jun 2018
20 Jun 2018 14:15:58
Gamboa is a better player? I give up. Edouard is not strengthening the squad, Paddy McCourt a waste of cash and only did it against lesser teams, don't get carried away by McGregor who has only had one good season, and Ralston not even a tenth of the player KT is. Post something positive soon will you this site is being dragged into the rain clouds by doom and gloom merchants.

All the info you posted is correct and agreed by many Stan

Edouard isn’t strengthing the team, why because he was here last year. I also said I was delighted he is now our player in the same post!

Gamboa is better than Ralston

McGregor has had 1 good season, the year before he was hit and miss. This year he’s been soo good that i would play him ahead of Rogic all day long

Paddy McCourt was rubbish, he may well have been gifted but where was it in the bigger games against the better players.

19.) 20 Jun 2018
20 Jun 2018 19:39:55
We'll just have to disagree today Kev. I'm sure like me you will be hoping Ralston proves you wrong.

20.) 20 Jun 2018
20 Jun 2018 20:05:26
For sure mate, cause Scotland also really need a RB.

21.) 20 Jun 2018
20 Jun 2018 20:36:41
Aye Kev my fear is McLeish will start playing Hendry there.

22.) 20 Jun 2018
20 Jun 2018 23:07:42
Eduard doesn’t improve the squad cause he was here last year, players signing extensions also doesn’t improve the squad, and I can feel a major let down coming from the board in this window, just like every other window, hope for once I’m proved wrong, but I doubt it.

23.) 21 Jun 2018
21 Jun 2018 23:13:17
Eduardo does improve the squad, he is a very young footballer and if he and many others haven't improved year on year, then the board should consider changing our coaching team, from top to bottom .
