Ok guys here is what I was told from my Celtic buddy at Celtic Pools.
As we know the plans are well in place for the new hotel and club shop, well the rumour is the majority of the Van Dijk money will go into the hotel fund, which is estimated to cost £18+, the Board are worried that any delay will see this figure soar, so the first foundations will be laid in the summer with this bonus cash.

Celtic still have the CL monies to come in the summer also, and Brendan has been promised up to £10m of this to fund transfers, also player sales like Sviachenko and/ or Dembele will add significantly more to the club's bank account.

As we are a very well run club, the planning for the future is an integral part of our thinking. The Board are even hoping the full £18m can be found for our developments, yet still have cash available for players and the rest of our profits put into running our great club.

The thinking is the Van Dijk and Dembele monies give the club the extra money to do all these things, without having a negative impact on the club.
In summary the timing of these two extra monies coming to Celtic is allowing the football club to push on positively. hail hail.

BR should be given more than £10M to spend in the summer if the right players are available to push us on (especially in Europe). I'd like to think with PR being injured long term he may have lost some suitors and we’d be able to get him permanently for about £5 or 6M.

The money has got to come from some where to fund the Hotel and surrounding areas. It’s no surprise to me if the money from the VVD deal will be used for this. The Hotel is all part of generating more income and to enhance the fans day out or weekend stay.
Yes all us fans want the glamour of a big signing but it guarantees nothing. The whole club is moving in the right direction and I personally feel bringing through the Youths is the way to go.
I just can’t see us spending millions on new players but I could be wrong.
Brendan has said since he arrived, he wants to build a legacy before he goes to pastures new. When that time comes, he will proud to say I helped give the fans 10 in a Row and brought through the Kids.

Isn't it fantastic the the powers that be are willing to share information regarding costs of the hotel and club shop, BR's transfer budget, players leaving the club and plans for CL money all with the guy who works for the pools. What a load of bollocks.

Wouldn't just write it off as rubbish. Pretty ignorant.

In every profession, in every level there will be some people who can't keep stuff to themselves.

I work with a guy who's a senior manager in my place and everytime someone's getting sacked, hired, pumping each other, anything at all Confidential he tells literally anyone who'll listen.

Pretty confident there's a few like that at most places, including celtic.

ha ha Ice Man take a hint from your name and CHILL.
This is a rumours forum, and my pal is a nosey git, who talks to everybody at the club and tries and gain information.
As for the hotel budget, the CLUB themselves published all the figures, the Van Dijk story is everywhere, so again not hard to get info, Moussa leaving is also being talked about with all the speculation starting at £20m upwards.
Like any business, people from the bottom up are privy to goings on within the club and pass it on.
Only time will tell how true my pal's info is.
In the meantime away back to the sevco page and count your PENNIES.

£4.4million spent on Olivier says otherwise. We should and need to spend such sums and higher to build for 2018 and beyond.

Don't always have to spend big though, Steven Caulker just been released by QPR. I know he's had his personal issues however Rodgers would be the man to get him on the straight and narrow again and to get a player like that on a free is surely worth it?

oh dear some sevconian rubbishes my rumour above, what about two of the posts I read on his sevco page.
One deluded guy has Ashley pumping £100m into club
Another has them signing TEN players
So whose rumour is more plausible lol.

I was at Celtic Park today to let the kids spend some Christmas money, and the place was mobbed, between, the shop, tours etc and adding the CL money, player sales, Celtic are absolutely coining it in, and I’m sure they can afford a lot more than £10m to the team, which at the end of the day is what counts, not hotels, casinos or even floating pitches.

Ice man, you hit the nail on the head, any idiot on the street, any taxi cab driver, in fact anyone at all with half a brain could put two and two together and come up with that yarn . However, Timalloy could be right, maybe D D and P L were worried about leaks from within board room and offices in. Celtic Park itself they went to the shop so they wouldn't be overheard.

It may take a few years to see profit once completed if it is considered as a stand alone investment. Continuing that thought once the hotel has cleared its debt it will pay a few star players weekly wages easily IF we choose to invest it in the playing squad. If we are funding it through player sales then the takings from the moment the ribbon is cut has to go back into our footballing budget.

it wouldn't surprise me if all the virgil cash went into this white elephant of a hotel, why would lawwell start spending money on the team now? this clown has held us back for years while trousering an obcene 1m a year salary, i can't stand the guy.

Jamesbhoy wouldn’t say he’s held us back he had the foresight to add the sell on clauses he runs us as a proper business we all would like more spent on player recruitment but we do have a lot of overheads he’s in that job because he’s one of the best in Britain at it and paid accordingly a think he’s done excellent for us business wise.

Lay off the bevy James and go have a lie down. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't be in the superior position we're in. You seem to know or moan about everything. If he was Irish you would be creaming yer pants.

A guy who works for Celtic pools has all the info about what we are doing?

Does he also moonlight as a taxi driver?

This hotel should not be funded with resources gained through the CL. It should be funded through the same means everyone else does, a bank loan granted upon the viability of the business plan.

The hotel will only be viable if we keep progressing, to divert money away from the team would be a terrible decision.

There is absolutely no way people in positions of responsibility are having a natter to all and sundry about what's going on.

I am all for developing income streams, but that cannot be done at the expense of the team. And as all know, the team needs investment or the CL cash cow will be slaughtered.

I used to have a right go at PL but i took a step back over a year ago and now look at the way we are run in a different manner. At the moment the club is being run on a sound footing and the building blocks are in place for it not only to continue that way but to flourish. What is the point in splashing x amount on so called superstars because they ain't guaranteed to be a success. Yes i want us to spend cash but it has to be on the right type of player. If we can build on our success and add quality every window then that is progress for me. It wasnt that long ago people we having a go at Ntcham. look at him now he looks a player worth a considerable amount more that what we paid for him. This is the way it is for us we don't have an Arab or Sky cash to see us through we rely on our support and good business management and i am happy with that.

We ain't going to be in for anyone remotely in the class of superstars. What we need is players better than the bombscares we have in defence. To progress in the CL, and by that I mean, not be humiliated, we need to invest. Our midfield also needs quality. They have the temperament for the domestic game but shite it when faced with better players and forget how to dribble and pass a baw five yards forward.

Zenit are a far superior side to us right now. If we don't strengthen then it will be another two defeats that we all know are coming.

We have spent less than the huns. So far that's the level of our ambition. It wasnt me who said every penny we make goes to improve the team, that was Lawell.

They want to charge big money for the CL games. Well that's fine if they are improving the side. We have stalled this year and the defence and keeper are a liability. Unless Santa brought Lawell a wand for chrimbo then he better get the tin opener out.

We need to buy as we simply don't have the class to progress as is.

what superior position is that gerry? a laughing stock in europe? and what is being irish got to do with it? i can't stand his complicit partner in crime desmond either.

I think last seasons treble and the unbeaten run explains the superior position quite simply. Europe - we'll never compete and you are deluded if you think we will with the money that is around at the moment.
