Regarding the Stuart Armstrong contract situation we spoke about the other day, I was told today that it will be sorted before the end of the season at the very latest. Seemingly it's a new 4 year deal with a 1 year extension on it.

Thought with him getting the captain's armband of late both sides were confident and comfortable the new contract would get done to be honest

Think you also be calling up that family bet you have that SA will be our long term captain in fact after Lustig I would say he is the next vice captain already?

{Ed007's Note - I don't know about that now, Jamie. The way Brown's talking he's not got any plans to retire any time soon and I'll be surprised if Armstrong hasn't moved on by the time Brown's winding down his playing career.}

Like you ED i was getting a bit sweaty about this situation. Thankfully this is a young man of serious IQ who i believe will go eventually, but is enjoying his time immensely as do the whole squad.

{Ed007's Note - He's always said that he would prefer a move to Germany rather than England and playing in the CL is probably the best way for him to try and do that.}

The way BR has him playing i have no doubt he could hack it there. He is starting to look like a proper Euro class midfield player, with a goal threat added now. Another couple of CL campaigns and he can only improve.

{Ed007's Note - If he keeps progressing like he is he could have his pick of suitors if he ever decides to leave. There's not many players out there these days that play the game the way Armstrong does. £90 million plus the rest for Pogba pfffftttt ;)
