Georgios Samaras has signed a three-year contract extension until 2017. Will be officially announced by the club upon his return from international duty.

Can't knock the guy for his some of his performances especially in europe but with him signin a new deal a really hope he starts puttin in more of a shift that ajax away game is the worst iv seen him in the hoops. he's a berbatov type player does some magical stuff and other times he's so lazy and lathargic and looks uninterested. Personally I would have let him go but hopefully this contract wil sort him out a bit

Delighted to have the big man on board again if true. The guy plays for the badge and medals rather than money and fame which is a rarity itself these days! He takes some flak and I defend him constantly, but he done him no favours on Wednesday over in The Dam. There was a group of older Celtic fans behind me who were badmouthing him before the team even came out and kept it up the first 10 mins before I snapped and told them to get off the players back and get behind him. Some fans seem to be individual haters rather than club supporters!

GunnieBhoy, he shouldn't have played against Ajax, there's no way his knee had healed in that time! I think it was a gamble that didn't work.

Agree to a certain extent JJ, I just hope this guy hasn't being playing recently for a new contract, to be honest Sami has infuriated me beyond belief, one game that sticks out for me is the semi final when we lost to Ross County a few years back, if I had a gun that day I would of shot him(joke before the PC brigade jump on me)he owes the Celtic support big time imo, and yes his recent form has been great(Ajax apart) which has paid back a part of his early dire performances but want to see 3 years of consistency then he will be forgiven for his years of frustrating performances.
