Is there a chance games will be cancelled this weekend if a certain situation occurs.

{Ed007's Note - No doubt there will be calls for it but remember the World Cup has made things so tight with fixtures it would cause problems. If teams from the UK want games stopped this weekend will they also forfeit next weeks UEFA matches because UEFA ain't postponing games for that.
And no doubt the "keep politics out of football" mob will be outraged if there's games cancelled.}

They cancelled the “Old Firm” game after Princess Diana died.
To be fair that was a massive shock to the public and she wasn’t in her mid 90s.

{Ed007's Note - That was to be played on a Monday night, Buzz. I was raging, I had taken a week off work for the game, U2 being supported by The Sea Horses at Murrayfield on the Tuesday and then my sis got married on the Friday. 1997 because it was my sis's 25th Wedding Anniversary on the 5th there.}

I could remember it was meant to be a Monday night Ed.
We stayed overnight at a friends house and we woke up on the Sunday morning, to the tragic news.
It was understandably cancelled with the match being the next day.
I think all sports will be cancelled by the Government this weekend, if the Queen passes before Saturday.

{Ed007's Note - It is probably part of the plan but I was reading earlier that under Operation London Bridge The Queen won't be buried until 9 days after her passing - or them announcing her passing - so will they cancel next weekend as well yet expect UK teams to play in European competitions plus it could cause some congestion with fixtures.}

I was at that gig! Handing out flyers for the Seahorses! Its a wee world.

{Ed007's Note - ??? They were a great band while they lasted and I probably listen to them more than I do U2 these days.}

If that’s the case Ed. I would expect this week to go ahead.
They might postpone the league matches next week, before the International break.

The Govan mob will rip the sr$e out of this one.

{Ed007's Note - At least she got to see around Celtic Park and got a pic in the trophy room.}

Surely tomorrow’s games won’t be cancelled.

The tried to do a minute silence at Tynecastle before the SECOND half and it was a shambles.
Some Hearts fans were singing GSTQ and the rest were booing the fans that were singing.
I’m not looking forward to our minute silence, if it goes ahead on Saturday.

Buzz

Ed would need to open a separate tab on the banter page to debate this one its not a football topic. I’ve got my views you’ll have yours and others will have theirs. The jubilee celebrations were mind numbing but this will take it to another level. No place for politics or religion in football or is that just when it suits the establishment? We all know the ar$e will be ripped out this by some and why and it won’t be about what it appears to be about on the surface.

{Ed007's Note - It's the @rse ripping that will get folks backs up.}

POP tour? Me three. Forget the Seahorses played. Might have been their last decent record.

Ed

Spot on this will make armed forces day and the poppy debate pale into insignificance by comparison. Very well said it’s not marking any human beings passing that gets peoples backs up if the death of any human being gives somebody a lift then they are one sad cookie. It’s the ar$e being ripped out of it and not only that but for reasons which appear on the surface to have an air of respectability from an established perspective when some of us know what it’s really all about not everywhere but in some corners.

Tens of millions will be spent on a state funeral and her successors take over. Whilst millions will starve or die of hypothermia. Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs. Im just saying that the above will definitely happen.

T1M,
The last English Bank Holiday until after Christmas, was the last Monday in August.
The public will probably get a couple of bereavement days.

Bereavement days .

I’m away for a bath and bed before I show my hand.

I didn’t want to say Holidays.
You know how touchy they can get. ?
It will be holidays for me because we will be in Santa Ponsa for the Shakhter game and Damian Quinn is also playing. ?.

{Ed007's Note - More holidays, Buzz! You've racking up more miles than Buzz Aldrin ever did.}

This is definitely the last until my Wife’s 50th in May.
It’s only Tuesday until Friday.
I’m sure Damian Quinn will have a few new songs made up.
The pub he’s playing in, were setting off fireworks earlier tonight.
I think it’s going to be a mad one.

{Ed007's Note - I am not commenting on any of the wives ages after the JFP experience but if there's a party on the go I hope the troops are getting an invite.
I'm 49 in May but have told Grotbags I want a surprise 50th party with the surprise being I'm not turning up ?

I hope they do cancel the games.
I have no doubt there will be those, amongst our supporters, who will do their thing which will (regardless of your views and opinion) bring shame, embarrassment and condemnation from many.

It will also give the media the opportunity to drag our Club and supporters down to the gutter level and deflect the mess across the city.

{Ed007's Note - Why do you care what other people say or write about us? Things might bring condemnation but very rarely do they bring shame or embarrassment.
The silence from the usual "keep politics out of sport/football" is no surprise tonight right enough.}

I hope some fans don’t give the media a chance to have a go at our club. It would be classless and embarrassing. If you want to turn your back, although I find that feckin pathetic too, then fine. We all have a responsibility to represent our club. Suck it up even if you see yourself as a diehard Provo. Class counts, let’s show some and not give those who hate us a reason to castigate us all, because a few don’t have any. She is dead, she is someone’s ma. Screw the nut.
