Celtic have spoken to Tore Andre Flo about the availability of Tomas Kalas as a replacement for Boyata. Ed002 has said that we have watched him a couple of times at Bristol City, it's not certain but she understands that Chelsea might be open to a sale.
Solanke to Crytsal Palace is effectively a done deal so he won't be coming to Scotland.

I’d be happy with Kalas, always looked decent when I seen him previously and young enough to improve. As long as it a permanent deal I’d be up for this.

So likely we will be cashing in on Boyata in Jan then Ed? What a performance to bow out on lol. Maybe that affected him a little knowing that could be his last game for us.

{Ed007's Note - I'm not entirely sure if Roma (and there's other interested clubs in England, France and Turkey) are planning to offer a fee in January for Boyata or want him on a pre-contract.
If it was left to me he wouldn't be near the first team squad if he signs a pre contract with anyone next month.}

ha ha ED007 when I read your first sentence "Celtic have spoken to Tore Andre Flo" I thought jeez are we THAT DESPERATE for a striker lol.

{Ed007's Note - Flo is a technical coach to Chelsea loan players and youngsters lol. It's through him deals like the Musonda loan are done.}

Totally agree Ed wouldn't be fair on the others and would be a kick in the balls to the club that's done nothing but good for him and allowed him to continue playing after costing us a CL spot. So he owes us a fee at least. Wonder what fee we could command for a player with a few months left and what Chelsea would want for Kalas.

{Ed007's Note - Well we got £7 million for Armstrong - and he wasn't part of the world's highest ranked international team - so I'd say about £15 million 😁
Seriously though I'd be looking for something in the £5 -8 million region, we know £8 million isn't a lot to the bigger teams in Europe or any tinpot Pub League team.
I'd hazard a guess that type of money would cover the Kalas fee with some change leftover.}

That's what I was basing it on really so not a bad bit of business if we can replace Boyata with Kalas with change hopefully can get it done early and it doesn't drag on all of January.

I'd be happy with Kalas. I remember mentioning him after he played for Vitesse (Chelsea juniors) a few seasons ago and have seen other posters mention him since. I'm sure somebody even said over the summer they heard we were watching him. Since then he's impressed me even more as an important member in Boro and Fulham promotion sides. I'm surprised he isn't playing in the EPL to be fair. Beefed up a bit too. Would be comfortable in a back two or back three.

Would a deal for Kalas only be done in January if Boyata goes now?

31 Dec 2018 16:53:33
Could a deal for Kalas be done this month Ed or is he on loan with Bristol City for the season?

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure I read that Chelsea can call him back, even at that £ can sort it out if needed.}

Seems Chelsea write in a clause that they can recall any player on loan if an acceptable bid comes for them.

If Celtic are still paying him a big wage, even if he signs a precontract, it makes no sense to me not to play him and get your full moneys worth out of him, or am I missing something? .
