Great.

11 Apr 2016 18:49:02
why do we insist on buying 12 goal a season (in the spfl lmao) strikers, Kane Hemmings from Dundee would be a much better buy IMO. As for maggenis not really seen enough of him to comment on it, personally I would like McLean from Aberdeen if they would sell to us, I thought he did very well on his Scotland debut and could very well be the replacement for brown that we need what's everyone's thoughts on him? .

11 Apr 2016 19:15:40
I really don't think there's any players in the Scottish Prem who could improve us except Rooney. He scores consistently and always gives our defenders a tough time. Definitely good enough for domestic competition. I'd love to see a bit of imagination this summer and not just pick the best players from the other teams in our league like we have done recently. A right back, a winger and a striker I'd say are the 3 main areas if Janko can't get fit because Lustig has looked slow this season as if his injuries are catching up on him and with a Euros he won't get a decent rest.

It must be an April fool but just 10 days too late.

McKay was banging them in at Inverness and we didn't even look at him then for 100k.

RE Kenny McLean, he looks decent but we have enough midfielders and he really isn't better than what we have already.

11 Apr 2016 21:28:02
None of these guys are even close to good enough, and include Rooney. He couldn't het a game for a poor Birmingham team, and McKay couldn't get a game for an even worse Wigan team. Both can score a goal in Scotland, neither are good technically, especially McKay. Magennis is a big strong lad, we need players for Europe, - surely to god we have learned our lesson with Cifti, who was better than those 3, but had only done it in the SPL. The squad is full of mediocrity, we need a striker who is as good as Griffiths, but different. We won't have a big budget in the summer, it's usually around £4/ £5 million, I'd spend it all on one striker. We also need to get rid of the dead wood then we could strengthen elsewhere, we need a quality striker though, this is the worst set for 30 years!

11 Apr 2016 21:29:43
Would rather Rooney and Hayes if we were to buy in Scotland

11 Apr 2016 21:29:58
Utter Shoite!

11 Apr 2016 22:34:37
Where did you hear this mate this is the first I've heard. can't see us going for anyone in Scotland we have individualy the best player's going. we need to clear out 5-10 players and bring in 2-4 quality players.

12 Apr 2016 06:22:51
only 1 x player in Scotland that would improve our team and that's young McGinn at Hibs Quality he is, as for the forwards mentioned no chance.

12 Apr 2016 08:42:50
Yeah McGinn is the only one I'd take also!

12 Apr 2016 11:09:22
dth100, I'm sorry but Adam Rooney would 100% improve our squad. He has 56 goals in under 2 1/ 2 season for Aberdeen and what do we have as back-up to LG right now? Kazim-Richards and Carlton Cole with 2 goals between them. I'm not saying we should sign him, far from it. We should be setting our sights a whole lot higher, but if you offer me a choice between Rooney or CKR, Cole, Balde, Pukki, Bangura etc. then there's only one choice. You know you'll get 20 goals a season.

12 Apr 2016 14:36:27
I agree kevbhoy.
Can't see what Mcginn would bring to our club though

12 Apr 2016 14:57:11
Kevbhoy I agree he is better than the substandard forwards we have. He is a big fish in a small pond at Aberdeen
Kev83 you are entitled to your opinion, but that lad got MOTM on his international debut and will be the mainstay of the Scottish team for years, he is very creative something we sadly lack, but that's only my opinion hail hail.

12 Apr 2016 15:37:12
dth100
He has done nothing bad in 1 international friendly and at championship level.
We heard all same stuff said about Scott Allan
If he is so good why is he not playing is the top leagues?
No one is good enough for our team fae the top leagues but a boy fae the championship is?

12 Apr 2016 15:46:32
I think we can all agree that it's a sad day when our scouting system has been reduced to scooping the cream of the other Premiership/ Championship team's players. No disrespect to them, but we really need to see a bit of conviction and imagination from the powers that be this summer because, like it or not, it's going to be a harder domestic league and the CL/ EL is getting further and further away with every season that passes by where we refuse to invest in good enough players.

12 Apr 2016 16:14:31
I have never had a problem signing players from other Scottish teams
McDonald Robson hartley agathe to name a few.
But when we do i like to judge them on how they played against us.
Do they cause the best in the country problems?
I'd say both Rooney and Hayes have done that.
Would they make our squad better?
My opinion yes.
Rooney especially because other than Griffiths no striker we own isite better than him.

12 Apr 2016 16:23:22
McGinn is totally different to what we have. We don't have much cover in the defensive midfield position and I think long term that will be his best position. He's a little similar to a young Scott Brown. He'll run all day (unlike Scott Allan) and is naturally aggressive and powerful. The problem with all the midfielders we bought is that they're too similar - none of them have the other side of the game, doing the dirty work, they're all relatively short and/ or slight as well. Look at the Leicester team, they are full of pace, power and aggression as well as skill.

12 Apr 2016 17:09:57
Kev83, buying domestic based players isn't an issue but when it's done as often as it has been recently you start to see a drop in quality. For me nobody out of Armstrong, GMS, Ciftci, Christie or Allan has had a real impact. GMS has been better recently and Armstrong has had the odd decent game but we need to be looking for players who can go straight into the first team now.

12 Apr 2016 21:22:27
For me Armstrong is being made to look poor by the system
He really isn't a wide player.
I think he could really do a job in rotation with brown and biton.
Christie is going to be a cracking player for us in think.
Allan I have no idea why he was bought.
We had better at Park head and sent a better player to hibs on loan in young henderson.
We should not be buying from the championship in my opinion because none of them are good enough
Mcginn could stand out down there but till he has done it against the best in this country at least then he's a no go for me.
It's time to stop buying potentially good players and get a few established ones. Whether that's Scotland or abroad

13 Apr 2016 00:42:21
I like the look of John McGinn he reminds me of a young Joe Ledley who I think we have missed badly since he left, I would be tempted to offer Hibs Liam Henderson and Scott Allan for him .

13 Apr 2016 10:54:48
I wouldn't let henderson leave.

13 Apr 2016 16:14:34
Agree with Kev, Henderson is a keeper he will be Brown's replacement. Wouldn't mind either Hayes or McGinn on the left but doubt they will be aloud to be sold to us. Wee McGinn has a lot of potential but so did Allan too soon for both to be at a club like Celtic.

13 Apr 2016 20:37:16
I don't see the fuss about Liam Henderson, I think John McGinn is a better player, I like Jonny Hayes and I feel Niall McGinn was perhaps discarded a bit too quickly by Celtic, both are more consistent wide players than James Forrest and even GMS, Niall is certainly more of a goal threat than either of them .
