Not a rumour but seen that Man U are talking about letting Jesse Lindgard go, wth Bristol apparently about to bid £2.5 Mill. would love it if Celtic put a bid in for this lad. Still 22, can play CAM or ST and a cracking player. Really suprised the figure quoted is so little the lad scores goals

its totally depressing, watching the game on saturday against ross county after griff went off we had nothing up front, I know its early days but reckon ciftci is a waste of money. we are in bother if griff gets injured or suspended this season.

I like griffiths and he's done well,but who can honestly say that we would have got to a point were we are all keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that griffiths doesn't get injured,because there's really no one else to score goals! If that isn't enough to make us realise how far we have fell then I don't know what is! And in no way is that having a go at griffiths! Just shows u how much our standards have dropped!

Flynn I think our team is on the decline year on year I feel like I'm constantly talking the club down but I honestly can't remember the last time we signed a player that excited me. It's ok the agm isn't far away and we can hear how much money we have in the bank. It's like me not spending money on clothes for my kids and sending them out with holes in there old clothes but getting them to tell everyone how much money there dad has saved up in the bank by not buying new clothes for them.

In ways we're becoming just an SPFL side. Said a few seasons that to be a CL side, you have to operate one. We still continue not to do so. We're still in it though remember folks.

Tim I didn't read your comments but I like a lot of others was massively underwhelmed by the ciftci thing. To then give him number 7 lg number 9 and stokes 10 I think that shows how low the boards ambitions are at the moment. Squad numbers aren't a big deal I know but they are traditionally numbers you associate with dangerous and or exciting players. Would you put any of the above in that bracket.

I agree mate he would be a terrific signing young player with a lot of potential, can't believe Manchester United are going to let him go tbh not really had a proper chance there and he just scored recently in a friendly against Barca. Imo he could get a move to an EPL team so doubt he'd be interested in Bristol.
You'd like to think we could bid somewhere in the same region for a player showing so much promise? Wtf are our scouts doing? Even £3M imo would be a great buy and IF we progress to next round potential CL football could be a good carrot to dangle in front of him.
Watched him over the last few weeks and he seemed to be playing on the right wing for Manchester United so currently GMS position. Would like to think he could play left wing as well to oust Armstrong.
Anyway little point discussing it our board lack the ambition it seems happy to sign the best Dundee Utd has to offer these days showing no imagination.

I watched a player last season that Manchester United played a kings ransom for on a loan basis and he was next to useless . Playing money won't necessary get results

It is a really sad day and catch 22 do fans boycot club shops home games etc until the biscuit tin is open
Spending money doesn't mean the player will be a success look at di Maria but the lack of activity stinks, we don't even sign players on Bosmans a market we could really benefit
Ledley and Matthew both sign this way and were big success
The whole system needs looked at are we identifying the right player as we seem to come up against gems playing in lesser leagues on lesser wage each year in Europe
I get there is a structure and budget in place but sure a 4 million punt on a striker on 40k a week that would propell the team to the next level would not disrupt the dressing room
And if it did I don't believe any of our starting 11 bar vvd are irreplaceable for 20k a week

Old bhoy your right paying big money won't guarantee results! But what it will do is give u a hell of a better chance to succeed! And this we can't bring a player in on big wages because it will disrupt the dressing room is one load of crap! For as many years as I can remember there's always been different pay scales depending on the standard of player! Big Hartson Sutton and Lennon were established EPL Players when they came up here,but do u think if they found out henrik was on more money than them they would be chapping the managers door? The answers no! For the simple fact,they knew he was a far better player! It's been happening for years! The better players make the best money! It's simple as that! And if for talkin sake a striker came in on 35-40 grand a week and someone complained then tell them straight! U can get the same when u start playin like him!! Load of crap this it will disrupt the dressing room! Another smoke screen to hide the fact they won't spend the money!!

what saddens me is even in the bad times of the 1990s, we still had strikers worthy of the name. now as some are rightly saying we are pinning our hopes on griff who a few years ago would never have gotten into our 1st team.
although there are still 4 weeks left of the transfer window I cannot see PL/DD opening the biscuit tin.
The problem we have is we are operating in a league where the champions are only given around £2m and you have one of the sky pundits on more per year than what we get for winning the league!

It really is crap matey the preseason is now a nerve tingling wait to see if Celtic get into the champions league. I ain't been impressed or excited about a signing since Robbie Keane
I don't buy into the garbage of wage cap to protect dressing room harmony either but that's what we are told via press releases etc
I'd just like to see a player side that would inspire the likes of vvd to stay and learn and could bring the likes of gms sj Griffiths on by passing on experience a player like Kevin kuryani for example available on a free with a wealth of experience at the very top
The model seems to be buy players to sell on but pukki balde bangura scepovic will all have been moved on at a loss

Garybhoy 1888 , I have read last year's accounts fairly careful and I don't find a big lump of money that is lying in the bank and could be used to buy and pay the wages of a star player . As a club we are paying in a league that is not generating any more money season upon season .
Of course we could borrow money , and borrow more year in year out and maybe we will get lucky and hit a regular source of big money income .
I expect nothing much will happen until we get into that money stream .
In 2001 we could spend as much as a mid premiership team . Now we have the spending power of a first division club .
