Hi Ed, was just wondering if Martin Petrov is a free agent? Wiki says he is playing at Sheffield Wednesday but nothing on their site. If he is reckon he would be worth a punt looked good yesterday fitness wise, would be good for some experience as well. KT {Ed007's Note - He is still a free agent but is either training or on trial with Wednesday.}

Everyone joking about Larsson signing on loan etc etc after yesterday's game. More seriously though - we have been saying we need cover at left back. Window is now shut. What about Bouma (guy playing left back for Stilyan's XI)? He has just been freed by PSV. HAs 30 odd caps for Netherlands, is bigger and stronger than Izaguirre, and knows how to defend. Short term deal? He must have loved the atmosphere at Parkhead, he is 35 and has just left a top european club. Jean-Pierre Laguerre
Totally agree, Bouma would be a great addition to the squad and it could maybe be the kick up the back side Izzy needs to get back playing the way he used too. DundeeMichael.
Some of the free shouts on here are purely and utterly desperate. This one to be fair isn't even close to being the worst but still a nonsense. Sorry JP, but that's my opinion.

Stevensee88 - no worries - was being devil's advocate a wee bit. (Trying to kick off a discussion). Thing is - squad is thin, and management know that - hence the frantic bids at LB and striker on deadline day. The club are not as organised as we should be, and have left the squad too thin. That is why shouts for free agents are getting more and more desperate - fans just want something to be done. My real shout is for Onyewu - USA CB who was top of my hit list whem he was at milan and not playing a few years ago. Bouma would be a very short term option to offer a bit more physicality and aerial ability at left back in games where it was crucially needed only. Jean-Pierre Laguerre

Jean-Pierre laguerre I always like what you have to say but I disagree with the 35 year old lb(short term)it would be like a loan, one thing I despise is tick from a club our size a complete waste of time. Iwould take the big yankie CB though. Yeah and our club isn't run correctly. sack the board, and I don't care if we achieve again what we did last season, what for to sell our best players and not replace them, when we needed players before wan/hooper. It's not ideal but if both lustig and Mathews are fit then me could drop izzy and put him under pressure by playing Mathews. That bhoy would play well anywhere for us
