Heard from a strong source that if any of Celtic big names are on there way out, they will be leaving for nothing less that top asking price. Obvious players are Hooper, Wanyama & Forster. Mulgrew is being eye'd aswell along with Mathews, however is been made clear to me that none of them are looking to leave until next year, Wanyama being the exception most likes and Chico might never leave!
As for new arrivels. Barbosa deal looks promising as we are in the last 16. But other clubs have eye on him. Usual links with Russell have started again but a don't see that happing until the end of the season. Forgot any big spending. As the CL money comes at the end of the football season. Ie May/June

These are things am hearing not 100% so don't get your hopes up or nickers in a twist, HAIL HAIL

Believable6 Unbelievable7

The best thing you said was that our top players will only leave for top dollar, this I hope is true. To progress with the strategy of buy low sell high needs us to cash in on 10+mill and real value for our players. That is the only way forward and maybe we could be a Ajax type, hope and think the board and more so Lennon is tiered of the disrespect from epl and how they take players on the cheep undervalue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would the Barbosa deal have anything to do with us being in the last 16? Is he not cup tied ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye can see mulgrew being here until he retires but I thought that about mark Wilson so you never know

Agree0 Disagree0

Barbosa is cup tied so can't play in last 16

Skinnbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The club put out a statement yesterday afternoon distancing us from the Barbosa rumour.
Seems to have been started by the players agent.
Quel surprise!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper - £10 million & Victor £15-20million, not any less. If these EPL teams want them then pay top dollar. Apparently Fellaini is £22m, laughable, and they hope to get Vic for £12m, what a joke. Put up or shut up

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sick of EPL clubs taking the p*ss out of our league. Players have gone down south for peanuts yet the money you see players going for on SS during the windows is crazy. The board needs to take a stance, if they want our EPL quality players then EPL money needs to be paid. Money talks though and in a way we are held by the short and curlies by the money rich clubs. Still super proud to be last 16 CL on our wage brackets!

when is there a public sale of juve tjckets cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable6

There's no public sale. ST holders first. Then ST can get a further 2 tickets for others and the people that bought the CL package on public sale can buy what's left. It's on the club site under home tickets.

Daz the Hoopy

Agree0 Disagree0

Article on Celtic website for away juve game with official travel agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely shocking that season ticket holders are allowed to get 2 extra tickets whereas people who are diehard fans may not be able to afford a season ticket might want to try for the general sale but instead some useless English nobody will come up just to see juve who probably couldn't name our starting 11,
Once again shocking from Celtic, the fans are what make Celtic so they say? Hmmm a think they should do the honourable thing

Agree0 Disagree1

Surely letting faithful season ticket holders buy two extra is better than it going to general sale which will just cause non-Celtic supporters to buy the tickets and sell them at a massive price?

Junglebhoy33

Agree0 Disagree0

No offense to the die hards that go to home games without the season books but think its great as a season ticket holder that I can get two extra as I've paid a lot of money to watch the home games CL included y shouldn't we be rewarded for paying our £ upfront and paying wages etc considering that there are no rangers game this year.HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree entirely with the two previous posts and they are at the full price of 49 quid each.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fans that pay at the gate should get a shout like ticket stubs or vouchers for so many of the last matches ... but £49 a ticket thats just greed no wonder the attendance is dropping i would think games like this would be a chance to attract more season ticket holders not drive them away ... and before the sevco fan stuff starts i am a season ticket holder and get mine automatically throu the scheme at £37

Agree0 Disagree0

No one is disagreeing that season ticket holders get first shout but why should season ticket holders mates get rewarded when some probably couldnt find parkhead with a sat nav

Agree0 Disagree0

£49 is probably our most expensive ticket ever but its in line with the other tickets on sale at man utd and arsenal etc. Personally I think season ticket holders should get every priority going as we're the ones who commited at the start of the season when we couldn't have dreamt we'd be playing juve in the last 16. £37 is a fair price for season ticket holder although if it was up to me I'd have made it £27 and £60 for non STH's

Agree0 Disagree0

£49 to watch history being made when we beat juventus and make it to the last 16! C'mon the Hoops!

Belfast Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

£49 brings us into line with man utd and arsenal ?? good does that mean we are gonna start signing the same standard of players that those clubs sign to bring the entertainment value into line too

Just heard that the rumour is true, Hooper will leave in this window from a half reliable source close to the club (though not sure how much they let Chefs know) has been bad blood between him and the board over contract talks.

No idea which team he is going for but leaving for sure for around 7.5mil bid already accepted.

Believable8 Unbelievable18

Surely Hooper won't go for less than £10m

MikeyBhoy88

Agree0 Disagree0

Ehm a think the chef should stick to the pies n bovrils n leave the negotiations to mr lawwell and the board regarding hoopers contract.
ive heard a better rumour that Hooper is about to be offered a new 3 year contract worth 25 grand a week which he will sign in this window.

Markmcky

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich/Southampton fan in disguise? Hooper's not leaving, nor are any of the first team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see him going this window...defo summer if he doesn't sign a new contract, I think if he eventually signs (which I don't imagine will happen) he will stay another season then want a move. I think he won't sign and move on in the summer, but I will no doubt be proven wrong lol

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2013 21:55:52
Why, why, why would you post such nonsense

JD

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what i was told not going to say it's nailed on just passing on the info.

Agree0 Disagree0

If any player leaves us this transfer window then they are clearly putting money before their only chance to play in the latter stages of the champions league. Apart from Wanyama who is linked with Man United and would probably achieve great things there, the other players are linked with Stoke, Norwich etc, clubs who will achieve nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

If hooper wants to leave he will probably leave imo hooper started poor and didnt look happy and has only started banging in the goals when the transfer window was looming if he wants to go and the club deny him i don't expect to see the same hooper the second half of the season his head will go back down ... but thats only if he really wants to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the last post...about hooper only coming onto a game cause the window was close by....spot on, its funny though cause people will say he just started to hit form, I say he decided when to up his form. Let him go while we can still get a good price, we wait to the summer and he doesn't sign a new deal we won't get anywhere the price tag we are asking for...let him realise himself that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and get someone in who wants to play for the hoops and not use them as a stepping stone to the EPL for a relegation battle!

Agree0 Disagree0

Think some of us are forgetting small EPL teams are a good stepping stone to the top for for younger players, If Hooper done the business at smaller premier league team the big boys would be in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If danny graham is worth 11/12 million hooper is worth 22/24 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but that's the thing, how many times have we seen player go to the smaller epl teams and end up stuck before they get sold to championship teams.....only a couple in recent years have went on to stay in epl with their teams and none have gone onto the bigger teams, hooper will be no diff, if anything liverpool would take him but not now when they just bought daniel sturridge from chelsea for 12 mil. So I IMO hoops would end up at a sunderland and within 2 years or so be back in championship. I rate him highly, just feel a move to a lower epl is a step down from celtic don't care if it epl...only 4 of 20 teams can promise him euro footie and on the other hand celtic can offer it to him most seasons...if your a player, you want to play against the best in europe not be stuck fighting to stay in the top half of a table. Yeah you get good and bad in football but if you had a choice between they 2 options I know what I would pick...going to the camp nou, san siro...satiago bernabau would topple going to any ground in the epl.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha no way danny graham is worth that amount of money. Hooper defo worth double!

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence guys but my only interest in hooper is if he stays or goes ... if he goes i couldnt give a rats assss what happens to him or where he ends up as long as wqe get the cash

Liam Kelly of Kilmarnock could be lined up for a move to Celtic Park. Mainly as a back up if Broony get injured.

Believable9 Unbelievable20

He gives 100% and gets stuck in but he is nowhere near good enough for Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is a very good passer of the ball, is the best player on the park most weeks, is young and will be gettin capped regularly in the future.

I would imagine he would be signed as a remedy to the European hangover we appear to suffer from. Wouldn't cost much, wouldn't be on much wage wise and knows and competes very well in spl.

Whilst I wouldn't be excited were this to transpire, I wouldn't be upset at all. We could end up very light in midfield as every player has their price- simple as that.

He's a decent player who would be more than capable of playing for celtic domestically, of that I'm sure. Whether he could improve further still is anybody's guess.

Jamie mac

Agree1 Disagree0

He is mainly for SPL but who knows. None of the players when we signed had any CL experience and were throughen into Europe! With those players around him he's jel right in. He reminds me of Lenny in a lot why but is paceyer

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to see russell in the hoops....not good enough, who you watching? He's not at hoopers level YET, but I think the bhoy would be a very good signing..he's got time on his side, still young bags of potential...he's the kind of guy that chases lost causes and turns them into chances. If we signed him I'd be very happy..another young scot in our team who I feel would get more than a fair share of games for the hoops.

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnny Russell linked to Celtic on SS
I hope we dont go for him, Stoksey
is coming back now and will bang in
goals we need for a decent run of
wins. SPL Stokes always does a job

Believable14 Unbelievable9

I think Stokes might be finished at Celtic. To be honest before his injury i thought he was in a comfort zone and was not putting a shift in..............green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree1

Russell will be a good replacement for Hooper (for SPL duty at least) when he eventually leaves

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes seems to be another player like O`Dea and a few others who get better in people's minds the less they play. He did have a good scoring record and looked good with Hooper for a while but seemed to think he was much better than he was and become lazy, frustrating and greedy. I think Lenny wanted him gone before he got injured.

Agree1 Disagree1

Would be a good signing but would he be good enough to get a regular game? Would like to see Lassad getting more of a run.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sign RUSSELL where does that leave TONY WATT?NORWICH?WIGAN?

any 1 else think its pointless us gettin any 1 in on loan or buying any 1 thats gona be champions league cup tied ? seen names like barbosa from braga fletcher from man utd mcgeady gor 6 months which is a ridiculous rumour anyway our current squad wil win the league so i dont see the point in gettng any signings this window thats only gona be able 2 play league games apart from cb cover

gunniebhoy

Believable13 Unbelievable4

So what you're saying is we should pass up the opportunity to improve the team just because they'll be cup tied for 2 (possibly more) games? Even though we're still in the hunt for a domestic treble? Any permanent signings will be available for CL next season so I disagree
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

What a mean kev is rushin thru transfers or loans just for the sake of it. Its a decent signin then aye def go for him am just sayin a don't see the point in just gettin loans or transfers just for the sake of it

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 100% with that. I think if someone's going to improve the team in the long term then we should go and get them and if they're not cup tied then that's a bonus
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye mate a totally agree with you if it improves the team then sign the guy no questions asked.

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I would go with Gunniebhoy on this one, In terms of winning the league our squad will win anyway so no marquee signing needed on that front. however is a quality player came avail on a loan with option to but I would like to see the cash being splashed.

Believable6 Unbelievable30

Would be a good addition as we wouldn't have to shelve out for a winger, but sadly can't see it happening.

Dose anybody actually see any benefit of league reconstruction, to me it just makes for a more complicated structure and dose not address any of the current problems. Maybe I've missed something but I see this as a complete waste of time.
DB77

Believable16 Unbelievable2

The newco, may benefit from recostruction, they will move up,

Agree0 Disagree3

We can't have the zombie team of what used to be our rivals taking three years to get back to the top can we?

We play by the house rules- we know which way they are tipped and for whose benefit! Fact of life- everyone dies, pays taxes and the establishment favours sevco. Was always rangers but that vehicle has been written off- they will accommodate Chico verde's courtesy car whatever the costs.

Jamie mac

Agree0 Disagree0

If the new structure is in place next year rangers will still be in the bottom league, playing the same teams with a few additions. So they will have to win the new 3rd tier next year then get promoted from the SPL2 the next so same amount of time. The only thing that would help them is they don't have to come 1st in the spl2 as after the stupid 8 8 8 split they just have to finish top 4 of the middle 8 for promotion.
DB77

Agree0 Disagree0

That's what they're saying at the minute regards sevco, if or when they gain the appropriate support from member clubs watch the goal posts shift. Guaranteed, new league trying to get best sponsorship deals etc. the really brand spanking new rangers 2012 will be in middle division at the very very worst.

Jamie mac(bottom dollar on it)

Agree1 Disagree0

Absolute no chance SPL chairmen have stated no quick return for newco on restructuring. SFL chairmen also not for it. SFL level teams lose big money.
Sevco in bottom 18 teams next year.
The restructuring is for after next season anyway. August 2014.
Swiss and Austria tried 888 for six years didn't work.
Rejiggering a pound of mince is still a pound of mince still same 42 teams! It's all a nonsense.

Ed are Celtic one of the clubs interested in Becchio?

MikeyBhoy88 {Ed007's Note - Yes.}

Believable10 Unbelievable7

07 Jan 2013 18:27:04
Becchio RED hot property right now, 19 goals and only half way through season.
Even though Warnock has said he won't sell anybody this window and with 18 months still to run on his contract, i can't see Becchio been with us the rest of the season infortunately with the temptation of champions league football plus premiership even though its not english been too hard for him to turn down.
Only a ridiculous bid would take him away.
I believe it IS Celtic who want him the most along with Tom Lees.
Good luck with your season fellas.

Heard from a mate that Celtic are looking at Terrence Boyd from Rapid Vienna. Had a look at his wiki page(not the most reliable), has oplayed in German Lower Leagues with Hertha and Dortmund's B teams

Samson

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Seen him play a few times for the USMNT in friendlies and concafac play. Has an upside for sure. Big and will play with back to goal. One of the better american striking prospects.

Celtic interested in Tom Lees of Leeds United. Similar player to Gershon as he can do the opposite. Gershon can play CB and LB, but Lees can play CB and RB.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Highly unlikely they will sell with there new arab owners in charge plus the kid been there since he was 8 don't see him coming the spl

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure i understand your logic there mate, why under new arab ownership would they feel obliged to hold onto a young player because he has come through the youth system? He would jump at the chance to sign for Celtic.

Ed i understand that Darren Fletcher is due today at P head for a 6 month loan deal as a sweetner in big Vic going to Old Trafford, they will also pay most of his wages. What you think ?

Believable5 Unbelievable23

The fact you've ended with "what do think" makes it sound like a rumour you've just totally made up, had it been a real rumour you would of said something like "has anyone heard the same?" So basically your talking rubbish! On the other hand though iv just sold wanyama for 12 million to man utd on football manager, could be a sign.

Agree1 Disagree0

If darren fletcher was any good ferguson wouldn, t be letting him go anywhere.Im sick fed up with these has beens coming to celtic, we dont need fletcher and why would we take someone who has an illness which will always be there. If these clubs want our players give them a choice the going rate or forget it.jimbhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would we sell our best player who shuts down the best in the game for a mid that is cup tied for cl? Just for spl? Think not for money would be a lot better then having him on lone.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not, we are not lacking in midfield to be taking a donkey hand me down from Old Trafford. They can keep him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Darren Flatcher is far from a donkey. Would walk into Celtics team. However the idea of having him for six months is no 'sweetener'. £25m or no Wanyama.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, I say donkey tongue in cheek. My point was that midfield is our strongest area and we don't need any EPL cast off's from any team. Fletcher is quality but CB LB are areas i would love to see new strong faces in. HH for 2013

Agree0 Disagree0

A real model pro darren fletcher
i always make him my cm in master leagues nxt to broony
he costs a fair bit tho
and inn real life i don't think he's a sweetner
if this was true id be deleighted

Celtic are after Portugese winger
Helder barbosa of braga. Left sided playmaker who is out of contract in the summer and sources indicate Celtic are lining up a £800,000 cut price offer as there is also competition from an un named French club.
Neil Lennon is supposedly a big admirer after watching him multiple times and a deal could be on the cards. Ineligible to play against
Juve but it seems Lennon wants his man.
If Celtic can't get him then attentions will be switched to a player who would be eligible to play against juve in the last 16... An offer of £3m is being lined up for clubbe Brugge and
Israeli international Lior Refaelov.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Celtic reportedly had staff in Bulgaria before the winter break there watching Georgi Milanov of Litex and have prepared a bid of around 1.5 million for the goalscoring midfielder.

The young midfielder has also been watched by CSKA and PSV.

A few wide players who are been looked at are Tommy Oar of Utrecht and Pawel Wszolek of Polonia Warsaw.

Believable15 Unbelievable8

Tommy Oar is very promising. Fits the criteria for a Celtic signing nicely. Widely regarded as the best young talent to come from Australia in a while.

Melb Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy milinov looks a real good player and his twin brother is also left full back in the same team, two birds with one stone ? have they a big target man and we can do all the business we need this window at the one club,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The moves fit with the criteria the club is currently working on.

There are also suggestions that the young Rapid Vienna strikers Boyd and Alar are being looked at along with Theo Robinson (Derby) who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The bad news is that these moves are all being looked on as replacements for Hooper and Stokes. Hooper has basically said he's not signing a new deal and Stokes hasn't had an offer from the club.
