On the arzani omission from the squad I'm a bit surprised and not overly concerned . Good few of his peers, youth, have made it. My only thoughs are the lad has probably had the summer of his life on and probably more off the field :) . Couldn't blame him for that. If he has been blowing out his backside in training then it's a bad message to the young lads that have been named that could of lost a place
The rule that I'm aware off is enjoy your time off and come back fit and ready. It's the culture of the club. He isn't in that bracket the manager or club said it. Stories of having a great time at the WC would of been part of his chat when he was introduced ;) that is the way it is. If he is deed on his feet after a few drills then named what message does that convey. I view it as good man management. It would be disrespectful to talented celtic youth that have worked all summer. Remember none of us have seen him properly play in our first 11. He will get game time. Should he walk into the EL squad. No.

He's had a WC and no pre-season, that's the long and short of it. This EL squad is only for the next 2 months so he'll be firing on all cylinders by then.

Exactly Kevin BR already stated he wouldn't be ready for a few months. Not surprised by this at all really. No need to look for any additional drama. . There isn't any.

{Ed007's Note - I said when we signed him that it would be a while before we seen Arzani near the first team squad simply because of what Warren Joyce (Melbourne City manager) and John van’t Schip (Ex-Melbourne City and Arzani's mentor at the club) said about him.
Both of them pointed out that Arzani has picked up bad habits, he needs to work on his fitness and get to a level where he will be able to play for 90 mins.
I never understood the posters who said he would go straight into the first-team squad and I certainly don't understand why some thought he would be in the EL squad.
Remember it took Rogic nearly 2 years to get up to speed.}

aye it wasn't really till Rogics 4th season he burst on the scene but then again we own Rogic.

I can't see this guy being ready in one season.

You could even argue big tam still isn't fully up to speed (90mins) . Any news on his fitness? Last I read was from an Aussie coach saying he is needing injections for a knee problem then a few days after the game to rest. The knee problem is also having a knock on effect with his hamstring. Is he needing an operation then or just rest and a physio?

There is loads of time for him, even if he gets into the match day squad and is used as a sub during the EL run.
He can always be added to the squad afer the group stage if he deserves it.

The worse thing Brendan can do is rush Arzani into first team before he is ready . We are not exactly short of players for his position &! so we can work on him in training preparing him to change his style to suit our more active and hard working than he would be used to in Australia . I expect to see him featuring quite a bit from after the January break.

As far as I know there isn't a limit on the number of home trained players on the "B" list, Arzani doesn't qualify for that list but players like Henderson does.

What were the details of the deal? Do we have first option or is he due to go to man city after his loan ends?
