ED007 have you heard anything about Aaron Hunt in possible talks with Celtic, he is out of contract at Werder Bremen, would love to see him at Celtic

Believable4 Unbelievable12

{Ed007's Note - Not that I know of Tim but I would be delighted if we could sign him.}

Didn't realise he was a free until I saw the highlights and it was his last game. Played a worldie btw. Quality player. Really surprised there doesn't seem to be any news on where he will go. Unfortunately my expectations of who we will go for and the sort I would like are pretty far apart.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm a bit like that myself, Jim. If we lose Forster & van Dijk and without any serious investment in quality, qualifying for next season's CL will be a BIG ask. IMO we still need, a ACM, a RW, a LB to challenge Izaguirre and a better quality striker - and that's only adding to the squad as it stands.
Players like Forrest, Kayal and Mulgrew, along with others, need to be moved on to clear the space in the squad and get them off the wagebill. I would probably sell Adam Matthews as well, we have Lustig and young Fisher at RB or even sell Lustig and keep Matthews, we don't need all three but the way things are at the moment we will sell Fisher for a couple of hundred K if we're lucky.}

Our track record of not replacing key players lately worries me Ed. If the two you mentioned were sold I'd be hoping, Scottish club or not, we were one of the main focuses of the transfer window in the UK. A serious time of investment into the side.

I'd keep both Matthews and Lustig. Think we need them both. Wouldn't mind seeing them both play in fact if we were to play a back 5 in games.

Agree with what you say we need in terms of positions but do you not feel we're crying out for a centre half? If he's to play at all, Ambrose has to be moved to a CDM for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We could always play Lustig in the middle with van Dijk and Matthews at RB. Personally I don't really see another CB as a priority Jimbo.}

Besides virgil lustig is easily our best defender and I don't see why people would want to sell him? he, s probably up there with our most consistent when he, s playing and international players are hard to find when were playing in the spl.
i do agree that forrest should go but, he, s done absolutely nothing the last 2 years apart from score against karagandy, which he didn't really play well that game. Adam matthews is a far better option and I think he would make an excellent out n out winger given time, he, s quick he can defend and can cross a ball which forrest cant, he would just need to build his upper body strength a bit more.
Albeit ambrose has a good understanding with virgil I still think he, s too dodgy especially in the cl and would keep him as back up on the bench and have mika at rb with virgil(if he stays) and another cb with izzy at left back and young andy robertson brough in as cover.
Ive got mixed feelings towards mulgrew, the only thing he has got is versatility a good cross and height but I would still have others ahead of him, would like to see pukki go on a season long loan and bring in a quality goalscorer because I simply don't think stokes n griffiths will cut it in the cl. People might disagree but sammy will be a loss, every one of them besides possibly virgil n forster had a poor cl campaign and sammy shouldn't be singled out, he was good last season with his height and pace and I think he scored like in every away game but he hasn't had the players beside him this season to replicate the performances he put in last season, ie hooper n wanyama

Agree with all of that greenbhoy.

You do realise Aaron Hunt is on over £50k a week?

{Ed007's Note - Bundesliga players are paid in Euros.}

@CelticGossip: Celtic will do business with Dundee unt in the transfer window I expect players to go both ways with 2 coming our way

Souttar and Robertson?

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Vague as u can get!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd loan them Balde, and even Henderson too if we were to bring in Armstrong. I'd buy Gauld too but loan him straight back.

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't loan Henderson to anyone . He needs to be kept at Celtic, to further his development . Normally the players who leave us on loan don't develop much and our first team hasn't benefitted much on their return .

Would love to see Armstrong being brought in before anyone else.
Robertson, Souttar and Ciftci would be the others I would be looking at.
Giving them a few players on loan would be a good idea to with Balde being the first

Agree0 Disagree0

Armstrong definitely a class above the rest!

Kris Commons has urged Celtic boss Neil Lennon to bring striker Gary Hooper back to the club for a second spell with his future uncertain at relegation-threatened Norwich City. (Various)

Believable14 Unbelievable9

Its been spun a bit by the press though. The quotes were from an interview from celtic tv. Commons was asked which player outside Celtic he'd like to play with. Besides Messi, he said Hoops. They did have a great chemistry. And in ways that's more important than the quality of any individual.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think it would work. While Hooper was on fire domestically he never really cut it at the CL level. Not that could be down to Hooper's ability or the quality of the other ten players in the Celtic Shirt. In my opinion he lacks that little extra to be a force in Europe.

Agree2 Disagree0

He was a great poacher + goalscorer but he was lazy. Takes too long getting back onside to counter attack + lacks a bit of pace to zip about the pitch.

Agree3 Disagree0

I wouldn't really want him back because I'd be wondering how long before he angled for another move.

I liked him when he was here and wanted him to stay but I'd rather we focused on new targets.
