Looks like a lot of contractual work for our own players is working behind the scenes right now. Griffiths in talks, Rogic, Ajer, Armtstrong? This seems to be a good idea as it gets this all done prior to the transfer window opening. Hopefully we can tie down our best players early, this clearly excludes boyata. I'm hoping for a few fringe players to move on this summer and bring in quality to improve the squad.

Getting Griffiths, Rogic, Armstrong and Ajer on long term deals would be as important as new signings. I don't want to see any of that 4 leave unless they say they want to leave and that has not happened yet. We have to build a new defence around Ajer, KT, and hopefully Ralston.

Well said Stan, I always seem to agree with your reasoning! I think Hendry is going to grow into a great player and could potentially be a partner for AJER once he gains more expeirienced within the club and understand the play and Celtic as a whole. Ralston looks good and the thing I like about him is his attacking presence, has the same attitude as Tierney.

Hendry still finding his feet so i'm not going to judge him by Wednesdays performance, He could have won us the game at the end and only the week before he was excellent for Scotland so he will progress well with games and coaching. To have a back 4 of Ralston Hendry Ajer Tierney would be quite something. I rate Ralston highly he will come back raring to go for pre season his time at the Arabs will do him good.

Sorry lads am not convinced by Ralston I may be unfairly comparing him to KT but am just not sure he's the great hope we all hope - I do hope am wrong.

I don't know what he has done wrong when playing NJS. He wasn't made a fool of by the worlds most expensive player this season. The lad has had to deal with a couple of injuries along with not getting a decent run in the team so its hard for him to build up a bit of momentum. Hopefully next season will be a good chance for him to show what he can do when he is fully fit after a good preseason and spell at Tannadice. I think too many people are compairing him with KT which is a bit unfair he should be compared to Lustig and Gamboa.

Lustig is still well ahead of Ralston in all aspects apart from age imo, he’s had a couple of poor games but in big games over the years he rarely let's us down .

Great player and an amazing servant to the club but we need to be looking long term now, injuries look to have taken there toll on him. No reason why Lustig can't be back up and used sparingly next season at RB and CB if needed. I think he deserves that. He needs a break but isn't going to get it with the World Cup so how is he going to come back having pretty much been playing continuous for 2 seasons.

KenLikeEh- the part of your post that stood out was getting theses guys signed up before the transfer window opens. It's a deal breaker for me. If they haven't then it's time to seriously look at replacements. The board have to weigh up what the contract cost v a few hit and hope signings will be. Being in the last year we won't get the money we are after. Upping the wages to tie them down will be less than a few punts on mabey players. Thing is the two of them know that and won't sign half arse contracts. Nor should they.

For me lustig still has a valuable place in our team. He is still a good defender but he can't play that overlapping role that seems to be the only merit in some people's eyes. It's been a missing link in our team having a pacey rwb to back him up and support or a rm that can track back and cover well. I didn't think the mcclean shout was a bad idea at all for that reason. Kt at times does the job of 2 men on the park it's difficult to see the wood from the trees when you have a player that does so many things well playing on the other side.
To be fair BR signed gamboa for the right reasons. didn't work out.
If we manage to tie up the good ones in the squad. The board have a "cheap" option of a rm, cb and a striker.
