who do you think will be celtic signings

Believable2 Unbelievable4

At this moment s**** ones!
Another missed opportunity with Russell.
Can't wait for a has been like dunne signing on or that other loser, Doyle.
After the income this yr if that's as good as it gets with us then hell mend the board and Lennon.
Instead of pushing on we'll stagnate, lose our best players and in a few yrs be back on a par with that shower when in reality we should be on a dufferent planet for the next decade and beyond.
Before anyone starts about guys like balde, u even hear about him up until a few days ago? Tonev? Another bit of kidology. Just wait until the ST money in and see the lack if class signings plus departure of big stars. stevo dundee

Agree2 Disagree0

Stevo, I know that it's frustrating, but keep the faith bud. Most Celtic supporters would have been happy to have Russell, but is he any better than Stokes or even Watt? I don't think so. Let's leave the choices up to NL and the staff. We also need to give OUR younger players (Watt, Atajic) some SPL games to gain experience. The silly season has only begun. I expect some solid signings this summer, but not all the names being thrown around in the rags. The Celtic board know that a few million to get into the CL again is an easy investment to make for what the return would be. Feel free to scold me if my prediction turn out to be nonsense.

I agree man. Happened a few years ago aswell when rangers were skint and buying persons like capucho. If we'd spent we'd have sank them for years, but we didn't.
Surprised and dismayed that we're declaring our targets so early on aswell, Very few players sign for a team before the transfer window opens, and very few teams sell their players. Ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit bloody harsh on doyle there! Looser? Do you even know the guy. I genuinly think he will be a great player for us. And you use the word hasbeens. You sound like a bit of a person to me or an undercover zombie. Some of the people we have been linked to don't excite me buti will back them 100%

Totally agree with you 100 per cent mate been saying it for a while I feel at times the board have a lack of ambition for example I thought we should have got a few qaulity players in for the juve game. If it was only for spl I would say fair enough but when we, re playing c/l I think we should be aiming higher

Agree0 Disagree0

Op relax the window just opened and like people say we have great youth players that need there chances too. Lack of ambition and we should be aiming higher? So we should spend a lot of money to get players in for the juve game? You do know we made it to the last 16 with the players we have beating the best team in the decade maybe all time and just missing out on being top of the group, a double and great football. Nl will bring in quality but also stick to the new buying young and sell for profit to add the quality we have as extra options in games. {Ed007's Note - Hear! Hear!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunne will be 34 in September and on at least £40k a week.
He normally get sent off about 2 or 3 times a season and gives away penalties regularly.
Doyle will be 30 in September.
In his 4 seasons at Wolves, he has scored just 30 goals.
Neither are good enough for Celtic and if the sign, it will only be because they are Irish.
Surely there are better players out there on low wages, especially in Holland and Germany.

Agree0 Disagree0

How about McDonald Mariga, Big Vic could be a great lure, he's been injured of late, but CL football is available. Wages may be a problem?

Melb Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd buy the young boy Harris at Hibs, and then loan him right back to Hibs for the season. I think this boy has amazing potential and after another full season will be one of the bright stars of the SPL, so why not buy him now when he's cheap.
Also, I'd probably buy Griffiths, yes he does seem like a complete tool but he's young, Scottish and will score more goals than a lot of imports to the league that would cost 10 times more.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know why everyone is still going on about Dunne, I read the article and what I deceivered was that Lennon is not going to go for Dunne but Doyle interests him and he is way underrated. I don't care about Russell going elsewhere, I trust Lenny will bring a slightly better quality player this window because he has a bit more money at his disposal. I'm not sure about his Balde fella though.

Smashing mate, just what we need great singing, I can see him being like MIchu from Swansea bargain buy. Gandalf the green

Hope so but I will believe it when Celtic come out and confirm it.

The deal is done.

Big Jason

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal is done who said its done not on teletext or tv or on website so is it really done am not so sure can u bring us up tae date ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to say he looks a bit clumsy at times from what I've seen on YouTube. Seems a confident lad so hopefully he is the same on the pitch. Hope he turns out to be a hidden gem like Lakaku or Lacina Traoe. Bit of pace about him, could be the perfect foil for Hooper in Europe if he stays.

I find he would be a great partner for hooper if he'd stay!

Lennon confirms his interest in Richard Dunne. He's exactly the type of defender we need - big, strong, no-nonsense, willing to put his body on the line - but 5-10 years too old.

LM67

Believable10 Unbelievable19

3-4 years ago definitely. He's over the hill but may still have something to offer. Wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

5 years too late.

jj

Agree0 Disagree0

He is pish, slow as ****. And why is 'no-nonsense' a good thing? Should a player not try and be composed on the ball and create a chance rather than blasting the ball out the stadium. hate those type of sayings

Agree0 Disagree0

I seriously hope not, bring back big dan if that's the case haha

S

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the CV title reads Done Richard. He was not interested when we needed him. Why oh why would he and we be interested now. Maybe Lenny needs a few guys around as enforcers. Its the only reason I can see which would make any sense. Sopotcelt. Ps He was more than a hammer thrower in his prime.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's too old and I would hope we are not a resting home for fading Irish players like Dunne, Doyle and Given. We slagged Oldco for playing Molly Weir every week when he was about 90. Why don't these Irish players declare they want to sign for us when they're younger and not when they are nearing the end of their career. In ten years time we should be ready to sign Shane Long and James Mcarthy. DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Nameless replier: you hate those type of sayings? No nonsense doesn't just mean hoofing the ball "out the stadium, it also means in his play against opposition, yeah he doesn't take nonsense (no nonsense) like bobo,, so turn your frown upside down, take a chill pill and leave a name,. ,. kbarry

Agree1 Disagree0

Be composed and create chances like Ambrose tries to? No thank you. Win the ball hard and fair and give it to a team mate with more talent on the ball. Like big Johan used to do

genius?
anuthur thing see that boay baldy is he?

I can see everyone's point on Dunne's age and playing style. There are negatives to the guy but he is a strong and commanding player even if he doesn't add much flair. If he is fit, and I think that would be my main concern, then he might be worth a chance. His style of play isn't pretty but it is effective in stopping the opposition play. If it wasn't then he wouldn't have been playing in the EPL for as long as he did.
He's a bit slow but he seems to compensate for that by having an excellent understanding of the game. He can see moves develop and get himself into position without the need for blistering speed. He would bring lots of experience too.

Total gamble and not worth risk. Either turn out to be veteran legend or expensive sick note. Unless we unearth a total gem through John Park, I'd be happy to go with Mulgrew and Wilson and strengthen up front. Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not. Too old and too slow. Only interested in Celtic as he no's he is past it. We are crying out for a no nonsense centre half with some pace. Dunne does not tick any of these boxes.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we could get him on a lower wage with performance related bonuses then i'd be in favour of it as long as we looked at bringing another one as well who would fit our normal signing policy. I do think his experience could be valuable on and off the pitch with the rest of the squad being so young.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wee Pat, I thought I told you to keep all that secret ;-)

The only thing in his favour is experience but I would not like to see big wages thrown at him. I would prefer to see a commanding Centre Half brought in that will stay for a few seasons at least ~ Mrs E

Sapo Desporto reporting that Amido Balde is due to sign for Celtic shortly, fee approx EUR 2 million.
Jean-Pierre Laguerre

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Yeah seen that, don't know much about the boy. seems confident in his own ability with what I've read, if it goes through I hope he is as good as he says he is. I'd also like us to chap russell's door and offer him a chance to play for the hoops, we could have a very good strike force next season if rumours are true. except from the doyle talk.
