If Lennon goes all the old names i.e O'Neill (who I wouldn't welcome back ) will be linked again, however, before Lennon was appointed I wanted Pardew and he is doing great with Newcastle. This time round I would like to see a young manager on the up like Nigel Adkins who is currently with Southampton. Any thoughts Ed ? {Ed001's Note - unlikely to get him, Southampton are on the rise, he is likely to want to see that out.}

Believable2 Unbelievable12

O'Neil is the man. We have not had a center half since he left. We have not had a forward who can score with his head since he left. Since his team was dismantled - by WGS we have no fight.

Please come back MON!!

Agree0 Disagree0

No fight since MON?

Wee Strach's team came from 7 points 2 win the title,Stood up 2 Man U and qualified for the knockout of Champs lge. Beat Shackhter from a goal behind and went toe 3 toe withg Milan for 3 points.

If that's no fight then I'm baffled.

I'd bring WGS back right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Say what you want about strachan but he won trophies, i would like to see lennon given time at least until the end of the season to see how he does. yes results lately havent been great but no team goes the whole season on top form and rangers will drop points to. Lennon is building a team why sack him when the going gets tough? keep the faith

Agree0 Disagree0

See last time we got 'rid' of a manager..we got Mowbray. This makes me nervous !

Agree0 Disagree0

We should give Lenny a chance to turn it round after all he went through a lot and stuck it out to help us. League is far from over. We have had a lot of bad luck.
X bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip bhoys, wee lenny hasnt been able to pick the same team through injuries. let the season unfold and see the team prosper when we have a fully fit squad to choose from. get behind the bhoys.
celtic to the core forever

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on about Strachan! Strachan was given the remit of "get rid of the big wages, replace them with cheaper alternatives, oh and win the league while you're at it."

And he did and more. It was a disgrace the way certain elements of the Celtic 'support' hounded him from day one. I actually believe Strachan would do a better job than O'Neill right now. O'Neill won't accept the shoestring budget which comes with the SPL these days... Strachan, well he might.

JD

Agree0 Disagree0

O'Neill is a chequebook manager, Strachan did a good job undoubted but it was during the end of a Ek McLeish era - a Paul Le Guen disaster and the return of Sir Walter, Rangers were in an unstable position overall when Strachan was Celtic boss as for the last 16 of the CL if you actually remember only reason Celtic got through was because a very unlikely result in another match (typical Celtic) & anybody saying Lennon can't help the forced changes, rubbish he plays Stokes on the bench when the Stokes - Hooper partnership is proven.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's an urban myth that Strachan spent less money than O' Neil. They both spent about the same. Rangers were absolute rubbish for much of Strachans time and were better in O' Neills day.

You have to respect Strachans record but I get sick of hearing how he was a miracle worker who only got hounded out because he wasn't a tim. He done well but his time was up and I seriously doubt he could recreate his success if we brought him back.

I think it would be a panic move to sack Lennon just now anyway, we should wait and see how the next few months go before rushing in to anything on that front.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we give Lennon time. We have to give him till Xmas at least. St Johnstone apart we've lost 2 of our most difficult away games although the manner in which we did lose them was poor the league is far from over. Come Xmas when we've played each team twice then we can really see where we are. As for the ed who said Nigel Atkins wouldn't consider us over Southampton ?? Are you for real? You only have to go back as far as Tony Mowbray leaving west brom. Celtic or a team who are amongst a group of 10 fighting for 3 promotion places. Come on let's talk sense

Lennon has said if his back room team goes he goes after a stormy meeting with directors

Believable22 Unbelievable12

Lets hope its true the guys way out of his depth lets go for a proven manager instead of a dreamer the blantyre banger u know it makes sense

Agree0 Disagree0

PRRRRRLLEEAASEEEE dont go Lenny. We've had so much fun laughing at your rotten tictacs this season. Just a few more months is all we ask lol.

Lennon needs the support from the board. Too many players that lennon wanted during window never got signed and we are left with pish like bangura. Ill be happy to never see him in a shirt again. Lennon, play hooper and stokes from start and at end bring on sammy to run teams down. Very. Very, simple.

Believable6 Unbelievable22

Think your being a bit harsh on Bangbang. Maybe we don't want people like you at Celtic Park ya glory hunter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am a missing something with bangura? Last time I checked he played 1 full game in europa, 60 min against hearts, 15 min against rangers then came on as a sub again in another game & he's being branded pish ?

Said b4 remember larrson 1st goal ? Aye it was a o.g ? Give the guy a break, hes got till may to score 3 goal or more to beat samaras record!

Infact.... Samaras Is that you posting that statement ?

Jokes a side bangura has hardly had a game & hes gettin it in the neck right away

Come on you bhoys in green
Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

7 games that Hoops & Stokes have started, Celtic have won. 7 games they haven't started, Celtic haven't won. I'm not the biggest fan of statistics but that's pretty damning evidence...

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster making ridiculous comments about Bangura, the guy has ability he just needs some game time and to be played in his proper position through the middle, but that is hallowed ground occupied by Hooper

Agree0 Disagree0

Bangura being made a scapegoat now, some times I wonder about so called fans. He guys had 2 starts give it a rest ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

You say never got his signing targets. He has already stated the he got his 1st choice keeper ( god knows what he seen in him ). Also thank fck he didn't get some of his other first choice targers namely Sol Campbell & Jimmy Bullard. I wouldn't give Lennon any more money to waste. There was no need to sign another striker when we have Stokes and Rasmussen who has the heart to win which we lacking. Remember Rasmussen almost getting his head kicked off to score the winning goal against Hibs ? None of ur current players would do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Other than slating Bangura who's barely had a proper chance I see where OP is coming from. Lennon needs to quit with the needless alterations in team selection and go with the tried and tested. I know he's had a lot of key injuries but even then he should pick consistently.

Stokes/Hooper up front.

Izaguirre and K. Wilson when they come back. Mulgrew central defence, M. Wilson right back. He was a top performer last year. Why is he frequently rotated? Fitness? I'd only drop him for Cha/Matthews against weaker sides at home or where Cha's pace could be a huge difference. But Wilson, like Brown, (for the most part) Kayal and Mulgrew plays for the shirt - he should be on the pitch.

Midfield is pretty solid but regardless of who else plays Ledley and Kayal should be on the team sheet - Ledley's been a key player for us, Kayal should be first on the team sheet at the moment. Scott Brown is out but we clearly miss his determination. Commons needs a kick up the backside. Until he shows something Forrest should be ahead of him on current form.

Bangura off the bench for a decent amount of time and until he shows he's worthy of a place. Same with prospects like Forrest, Wanyama, Matthews.

Have the balls to drop players from the bench and bring in others. Samaras and Loovens are inconsistent. Aside from having injuries and needing to play him Majstorovic is another in this category. McCourt deserves more of a chance.

On the board I agree - we need a new CB. Badly. Lennon needs to push for this. I'd love us to pick up an unattached gem on a free transfer but it's unlikely so the defence needs to be sorted in January as a priority.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes is weak, gives the ball away too much and was hopeless when hooper wasn't in the side. He needs to be carried and is not good enough for celtic. he cant play against rangers so shouldn't really be a first choice striker

Agree0 Disagree0

As original post states....its all very, very simple. You have a jackass in charge of the team, a joker as captain and 10 other lost sheep running around-except forster, who is like freddy kreuer running. You are mince bhoys, deal with it.

Agree0 Disagree0

See if you watch hooper or stokes play with anyone else they look lost, they play together well form a good partnership, if you wanted the last Europa game espn showed hooper up front him self breaking down Madrid but in slow motion u see he's looking round for someone else ie stokes to play the pass into the box.

The next old firm game he needs to run both of them up front, & put samaras & bangura on the bench as back up or if there 2 nil up play bangura/samaras to burn them out. Only problem is the next old firm game is a must win so will he go for what works or play Sami & hope for the best. Well said about mulgrew & kayal they do play for the shirt as does brown think he fires them up for it, only problem Is he's out till the middle of december & don't think he would be match fit for the 28th

Come on you bhoys in green
Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont be so arrogant, the next old firm is must win. You need to take one game at a time and hope Rangers will drop points(they will, but are you confident Celtic won t drop any more).
