I see BR is being linked with a Toulouse midfielder harly a position we are short of cover for. I hope someone has got the wromg player and it is Issy Diop real class could be better than VVD.

Agreed Jonace. We've got a load of midfielders. No need there. Who does Issy Diop play for and how much would he cost?

But he can play right back, centre half, up front and even in goals so a perfect midfield signing for us!

Diop plays for Toulouse look him up on Utube a powerhouse with lightning pace 6ft5ins really strong defender, Although you cannot be sure from video he looks a player. As for price who can tell in this market after Neymar eerything is going out the window who wouldhae thought we would pay 4.5 million for a player to sit on the bench.

Gaffer said no defender coming in.

Erik Sviatchenko will be out for around 6 weeks after picking up a knee injury against Rosenborg.

Not good news more so if we aren't going to bring back up in.

Surely back up will have to be brought in now. I know Brendan's saying bitton can play centre half but surely we can afford to go out and get an experienced centre half. He done it last year when he brought in big toure and we already had svitchenko, big jozo and boyata at the club. It makes absolutely no sense playing a player out his natural position when we have a small window of opportunity to bring someone in.

{Ed007's Note - And come September we'll have the new signing competing with Jozo, Boyata, Sviatchenko, Ajer and now Bitton. We moaned about having a bloated squad for years and now it's trimmed people don't want to use the squad we have and buy more squad players. For me Ajer or Bitton would be more than capable against Astana or why not move Lustig in there and play Gamboa at RB?
The only way we'd have brought in another CB is if one (Sviatchenko) left and I can't see that happening now.}

Sappnin Bitton.

What about a left wing lustig type player. can cover kt and play lcb if required.

I think young Ralston has real promise. I'd rather he was giving Lustig a rest in bread and butter domestic games than Gamboa.

Ed

What are the odds of all 5 you mention being fit at the same time?

I just asked Paddy Power who suggested I would be better putting my money on a Sevco treble!

{Ed007's Note - That didn't happen.}

Hahahahahaha.

Celtic v Astana what do you think of the draw?

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - That'll do me! (clap)

Home leg first again! That and the distance is a pain in the arse!

Would have preferred somewhere actually in Europe tbh!

{Ed007's Note - Politics has no place in football!!!}

i will definitely settle for that HH.

I'm happy with this, We are a better team than when we played them last time and a years more experience playing as a team. Also the fact BR will no doubt have a big say on getting the team across there a day or 2 earlier than the norm to help prepare best be can under warm conditions.

This is why we voted out ED!

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Enjoy it while you can, in a couple of years it'll be nigh on impossible to go to an away tie for a European match with the time it'll take to sort visas etc.}

04 Aug 2017 12:53:13
The only thing that worries me is I just saw that the put Legia Warsaw out in the last round. We are better than last year, but we will be missing Dembele and Sinclair not at his sharpest as yet and Armstrong is just baffling me at the moment. Sinclair though not as sharp his grafting on Wednesday night was brilliant. He was back covering for every one of their attacks.

So does Sevco Kevbhoy (Wish they were in Europe :-P)

Just imagine how much Welsbhoy can "consume" making that trip Ed lol :-O (Y)

{Ed007's Note - If he's allowed to go....

04 Aug 2017 13:30:19
It wasn't the draw I wanted due the distance, time difference and most of all, the heat. But I'm sure the Board will charter the same plane as the last time we played them. If memory serves me right, I believe it was kitted out to a very high standard with beds etc.
It is so important that all the fans get behide the team and make Paradise a caldron of noise. Put fear in the opposition and go over there with a positive result.

As Scotland's oh representative at any European level and Scotland team looking unlikely to qualify for anything. do ya reckon spfl will give us some support and rearrange fixtures so we can get proper prep for these games?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Why should they?}

04 Aug 2017 17:35:42
Christ we will have 8 games in August now including all that travel.

Sfa spfl work with us. anyone think we should try and rearrange any games. they let us move for a friendly once.

I'm so glad we missed Hapoel Beer Sheva. They were impressive at home. We need to be more adventurous in first leg and not try to pass our way in from 25 yards out. Let's give my lookalike bra' Tom Rogic freedom to shoot at will.

05 Aug 2017 18:09:13
Not the worse tie we could have had, would have been better if we played the 1st game away, however confident we can go through.

05 Aug 2017 18:10:26
We will need to take a lead over there. They, like Rosenburg, are well into their season so will be match fit and sharp.
Read they put in a new pitch similar to the Norwegians also so that should be a plus. Also on the plus side, they struggled against Legia in both ties, so hopefully Celtic can take at least a 2 goal lead over there.

re the visas needed for travelling in the future have no worry R O I will come to Celtic's rescue and issue all Celtic players and managers etc Irish Passports .
Players will also be able to set up personnal companies and pay little or no tax, like Ronaldo and Bolt for just two examples.
