Hey bhoys and ghirls, I missed out on a 3 match CL package as I didn't have the funds on the day and they sold out so fast. I'm not a season ticket holder but I am as dedicated as my finances allow and the wife and I normally manage down (from the north east) to Celtic park for 5 or 6 games a season. Anyway, as we missed out in the general sale we thought we'd treat ourselves to a wee Spanish adventure on the 23rd. All the official Celtic tickets for the game are obviously gone too but we have been told that Barcelona will not use their full allocation and that there will be tickets available to buy at the stadium. We have also been told that if enough Celtic fans buy tickets at the stadium, that the Spanish will have an "extra" away fans area. Am I being given bad advice? Is it a wise idea to head over without a ticket? Sorry if these seem like stupid questions but we have never been to an away Euro match so we are completely in the dark about how it might work. Any advice gratefully received.

Went to the Nou Camp the last time we played them in group stages when we got a 1-1 draw, none of the 8 of us had tickets but i managed to buy one for the Celtic area outside the ground , and all my mates got them no problem for Barca area, all i can say is if you get Celtic area tickets take a set of binoculars cos it's like watchin subbuteo from the roof of your house. Buy Barca tickets all my mates said they had great view and the locals were friendly........Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

As stevie said in his reply you are better off getting one for the barca end ,as we get put up in the gods. one of my mates got a ticket for barca end and was rite at the pitch. its a bit of a waste of money for us as the players look like wee Subbuteo men running about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes m8 been there twice and seen guys getting briefs at stadium

Agree0 Disagree0

U will manage to get for thevbarcelona end. But they said they were releasing extra Celtic tickets last time and they didnt

Agree0 Disagree0

Last time we bought them from Barca ticket office at the ground, the morning of the game. Yes you are up in the sky, but the atmosphere in the Celtic end is second to none.

Superb! Thanks for the advice! We're gonna go for it. Whatever happens, it'll be a night to remember for sure. Cheers guys

My son is going over and he has bought them of the Barca website. I've also seen posts of other fans doing the same.

K-Dot.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can actually buy tickets online from either the barca website or one of the main ticket sellers, the only thing is you´ll be in with the home crowd. I´ve bought tickets for the home end, being in with the Celts would be great but I´m not sure about them giving more space to the away fans. The tickets start from 59 or you might find one up in the rafters for 46

If you need more info let me know as I live in BCN.

Booked up fo Barcelona flying to girona then bus to Barcelona where in city is best for cheap reasonable digs for 2

Folks what do u think was best goal last night? Probably the 3 of them. For me it was James Forrest (OG) great ball into the box, Hooper & Samaras communicating with each other, great 'dummy' by samaras, great hold up play and awareness from Hooper to set up Forrest. Still can't get this smile of my face. Ian L

Hello not posted in a while again but just had too after last nights amazing game.

All round thoroughly deserved, even 11 v 11 we were never out the game, poor defending for both goals but hey we scored more than them and thats the way i like my football played. Massive well done to the Bhoys, onwards and upwards.

Ed take it my zombie pic didnt pass the stringent vetting process? was rather chuffed with myself for it :)

Hi all, just wanted to congratulate the whole team, backroom staff and manager on a great performance tonight. We were sloppy at both goals, but after that comeback I can excuse it! Great night to be a fan.
However, I was flicking through my Facebook at half time and came across a great number of posts on "Celtic groups" slating Samaras' performance until that point. Fair play, I admit he didn't have his best game and I think he'd say the same, but what irks me is the fact that before his injury the fans were all with him and waxing lyrical about how he was our European man. Scoring goals away from home to take us through and showing us what he can produce. But, as soon as he does a couple things wrong in ONE GAME, they're all on top of him calling him all sorts and wanting him replaced! And to make it worse, when he scored the winner they're all his pal again!
This isn't what you want from fans! You need to get behind the big fella and give him that confidence! He can produce and when he does he's one of our best players. Get off his back and just be thankful he was around tonight or we'd be talking about a draw! I hope big Sammy stays for a good while longer, because he really is a step above a lot of our other players when he puts his mind to it! Greg.

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Well said Gregg. Agree with everything you said. In the past year he has been playing well for us. Lennon has got the best out him but it doesn't help his confidence when he loses ball or doesn't make right pass people have a go at him. Great team performance last night hail hail

Agreed

Had Samaras not scored last night would you still be on here defending him,if he had a bit aggression he could be a great player but he doesn't,he has the heart of a mouse.

Agree0 Disagree1

Samaras was playing his first game back after being injured. He had a more disciplined role than normal which he stuck to well and he won a lot of headers when used as a much needed out ball. I despair at the Celtic fans who still maintain that he is a coward. Even when he was being booed by his own fans he never hid, he always looks to get on the ball and make things happen.

Last night he got a goal and played a big part in another. Rest assured he is the only Celtic player Barca will be worried about.

Agree1 Disagree0

He has the heart of a mouse ? maybe but he is no different from lots of others to have worn the hoops, he is a confidence place and up until he scored I thought he had a poor game. Compare and contrast to Vic whose determination made the first goal, and Brown was exceptional again. all in all far more stars than poor performers. Even Lustig looked the part. Well done Neil, Johann, Gary et al and the wee band of fans....brilliant.

Agree0 Disagree0

That what stands him apart from all of the other players in the team what is the point in having a donkey that will kick and tackle all day but in europe you need more than that what about his ball for hoopers disallowed goal and his constant running up and down that line you dont see anyone back up samarases work rate or build up play like everyone defended hooper??
DonegalBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a N.I. Rangers supporter, and I just want to say a great result over the Ruskies, great team performance.

Agree1 Disagree0

Heart of a mouse? He stuck his head in when it looked he could have got a sore one for the goal last night. 110% commitment for the cause. Might not be a larsson or a moravcik but he is by far the best player we have- certainly in the big games anyway. worked hard, great ball for hoopers offside goal and a great dummy to set up the equaliser. Great player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree he wasn't having best of game and can infuriate at times but one thing that can never be thrown at the big man is his continual showing for the ball n involvement. Many a player hides or put themselves in position where ball won't b played. The more aggressive opposition we face domestically probably doesn't suit him but Europe a perfect platform. Look at results this season n his involvement , credit where credit due. As for a small band of supporters well done to them all. Thomas cook wanted £599 plus tix, I wanted to go but no way cld justify that outlay for a one night trip on my own. Feel the club cld b more pro active in their arrangements with tc n assist with costs, more fans wld go but in this time of austerity £600+ just out of reach of many fans. Stevo dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras....110 % commitment to the cause your having a laugh. When it suits him hes great but moody to say the least.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Samaras was 110% committed in every game he wouldn't be at our club. He has the talent to be at one of the top clubs in the top leagues. He is the classic fits and starts player.
