A few people saying Roman Eremenko is out of our price bracket? No chance! He is available for 5 million euros, so 4 million our currency and for how good the guy is that is a bargain! Just what we would need with Juve coming up etc! Hail Hail.

Believable18 Unbelievable7

I agree. His older brother was a class apart in Scottish football and see no reason why we couldn't shell out 5m - I understand that it would be a gamble but we could probably do s loan deal with option to buy at end of current season. I also hear ruben want to sign lustig.?

He wouldn`t be eligible to play against juventus would he?

Did someone put the lustig and Romanov together in another post, be real people celtic won't splash 4+ million on anyone

John

We have raked in millions and millions from the champions league etc! Its time to spend money on a PROVEN quality player like Roman Eremenko. 4millions is buttons for a player like him. Finger out Celtic!!

Hi all, not posted for a while but the hooper situation is a win win for the club, he's desperate for a move, he tries harder, he scores more his value goes up.
In terms of replacing him, there are a few strikers out there who would love to play at celtic for a couple of years as stepping stone, although we want long term commitment not gonna get that in spl and in all honesty, not the boards policy at moment. I will watch with interest, blackburns progress as I think them failing to go up could get us Rhodes for 5 million, if he does as well as hooper has with a couple a European runs and goals we could profit again, long shot but interesting one. Newbhoy.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Why do some on here insist that getting in Rhodes is a good thing? As was predicted, he'd find the step up a challenge and now some think that he's ready to lead the line against Juve. If we're not able to splash real cash on a class proven forward then do what we did a la finding another Hooper. Makes mores sense

Agree0 Disagree0

How has rhodes found the step up a challenge, he has score 13 goals in 22 games for blackburn...if hooper goes i would have rhodes up here in a heartbeat.

Celticthomas

Would Blackburn take a 3 million hit on there top goal scorer after 6 month?

twitter rumours doing the rounds, fee agreed with Norwich for Super Hooper, needs his tiny brain checked if he wants to leave paradise to be an also ran

Lustig to Spartak straight swop for Aiden, probably BS, i like Lustig but........cheerio welcome home Aiden

lastly Kevin Thompson i hope to god nooooooo, unless Broony desperately needs a flat mate

plus if all these stories in the papers are true about Vic, Kayal, Big Fraser ect.... we will be playing the rest of the season with the development squad, i know Lawwell likes his bonus but to sell most of the team wont be selling many season tickets for next season

Believable6 Unbelievable16

Hooper is in Dubai kayal was in London airport with big Sami.

Hooper - to Norwich IMO won't happen
Lustig - more so a swap won't happen
Forster - next year/summer

Norwich are looking at kayal for a reported 5m which I think is a steal ! Payed 1.3m for him and he missed 2nd half of last year.

I hope/expect everyone to stay if we weren't in the last 16 then yeah bodies would be going

All of the above is just my thoughts not 'facts' like some people love to put in there posts lol

Lenny

Agree1 Disagree0

Silly season in fully swing then? Wouldn't take Aiden back anyway-Forrest is already more of a player than him. Daviebhoy

Agree0 Disagree2

If these rumours have no other sources other than "personter" then yeah, their rubbish!! Hoopers not a new one so poss but what a waste! McGeady who spartak want 8mill for will be in no straight swap for Lustig 2-3mil max. It is a Rumour site though

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper spotted in dubai with delia smith, , , deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry DavieBhoy but don't talk rubbish, McGeady is miles better than Forrest at the moment. Forrest has potential to be as good (maybe better) but isn't there yet. Plus Mcgeady left wing, Forrest on the right! Would be amazing.

Jordan

Agree1 Disagree1

Forgot to say agree we won't get him straight swap for Lustig, he's worth a lot more.

Jordan

Agree0 Disagree0

Delia was asking gary if he would pass on a steak pie she made FPLG for new year

Agree0 Disagree0

"Personter"?? Don't know how that came about, sorry Ed it was ment to say personter! Doubt you could've worked that out?

Bigbadjohn {Ed007's Note - Some words are changed automatically, Wee Pat's mam complained about some of the language on here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Money talks and at least 15 k a week
more than tic will offer softens
the blow of no silverware champions league etc

Agree1 Disagree0

Jordan, McGeady is over-rated and has never really hit the heights his early ability promised. Same could happen to Forrest and he has been off the boil a bit this season before injury. You're right that Forrest isn't at his level yet but in terms of attitude, pace and ability to actually finish with a goal instead of running into touch, I'd rather have Forrest. I reckon Commons or Samaras on the left and Forrest on the right gives us decent width already, just need to get them all back fit, McGeough can also play on either wing. Reckon go with what we have across the middle. Daviebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

McGeady! No chance! Never improved in the last 3-4 years... would not waste 4 mill on him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aiden was super, but since then has not lived up to billing (he had a very poor euros and didn't kick a ball against us recently) .Forrest will get better if he trains properly; something not right when a young player suffers from too many muscle injuries.

Agree0 Disagree0

This the same mcgeady that was linked with zenit last summer for 25 million euros?

John

Agree0 Disagree0

More a sign of the daft money flying a out the Russian league than a sign of McGeady's class. I was really excited about him when he burst on the scene but wasn't too disappointed when he left. The centre half coming in to cover efe is a better move. Hold onto what we've got and hopefully unearth a bargain number 10 with height but don't take a backwards step for a self-declared Superstar. Daviebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess we have to agree to disagree DavyBhoy in my opinion I feel McGeady would greatly enhance the side! I would love him and Forrest on the wings, and yeah Forrest has went slightly off but he is young and can improve still. Anyway hope we get the creative spark were missing!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sound Jordan, we all have our players. I still reckon that when we have everyone back (ie first 11 and key subs) we may see that we already have more options than we think. If everyone is able to play in their natural position, I reckon we could end up with a tidy bit of width in the team as well as a strong spine. I might get shot down more for this but I don't think we've seen the best from Ledley and I honestly think he could be deployed as a tidy playmaker. Cardiff played him in a far more central aggressive role than we have as of yet. Particularly in a 352-which NL seems to be shaping to employ when he can-I reckon giving Ledley a roaming role withing a middle 5 could be a good option.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point about ledley from a gers fan, when watching him, always exepting that bit more, a do think he has it, looked pretty good against us for wales, not saying he hasent looked good for celtic, but full potential?

Norwich were not looking at Kayal .. insiders at the club are miffed at the Dailyfail reporting that...Hughton was there to watch Gary Hooper and he remains 1 of 3 strikers they POSSIBLY bid for in coming days.
InTheGame

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Could norwich afford hooper? I would imagine because its the Jan window hooper would not leave for less than 10m. plus he would make the biggest mistake of his life if he was to move to the likes of Norwich. Fair enough if he moves to a top 6 team we can't really complain but it seems its only relegation threatened or smaller EPL clubs in for him.
If he hasnt signed a new deal by the last week of Jan then sell him to f**k. He WILL regret it if he leaves in this window as the next few months could be the best at our club for many years. I like hooper but if he doesnt want to be here move him on now and bring in charlie austin.!!

Celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich. Really? dopeydavey

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he be making a mistake ..to play 2 CL games ? ...he'll get 30k a week at Norwich ..double his current wages...play teams like Man u , Liv , Che , Man city everyweek.
sorry but he only worth 3m max in summer with 1 year remaining so I value him at 7m this window . Norwich could be his stepping stone to a top 6 club in Prem.
InTheGame

Agree0 Disagree1

@InTheGame, how do you know he will only have another 2 CL matches, can you see into the future? i bet you where one of the many persons that had written us of at the start of the season and before we BEAT Barcelona. Why would he go to Norwich who are no more than a relegation/promotion team at best when he can stay and win a possible treble and enhance his reputation by playing CL football and then move to a top 6 EPL team in the summer. If hooper wants to move for the money then norwich can have him because once a player puts money before career they turn out to be failures. The EPL is the most OVER rated league in the world Man City and Chelseas failure in Europe this season just proves this. U R deluded mate if u think Norwich offer more overall than Celtic!

Celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree0

To "inthegame" Why would hooper want to even think about leaving to a realistically relagation fighting team? For 30k you say? That's roughly 5k more than he can get here with champions league football where he has played the likes of Barcelona , Benfica and can play juventus. To even mention the highly mediocre Liverpool as an incentive to move to Norwich is laughable . And lets be serious playing champions league football in front of 60, 000 fans scoring home and away or playing for Norwich , which really is the better "stepping stone" to a top 6 club ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would sell Kayal. Never been his biggest fan, don't really see what he brings to the team apart from yellow cards & fouls. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies didn't leave my name on the last post (first time poster love the site ed ) nicky1888bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Your all forgetting the one thing that SHOULD be a footballers motivation...Medals! Hooper could have 3 winners medals at the end of the season. You know how many he will win if he goes to Norwich? F*ck all!! I don't think Hooper is good enough to play for any of the top 6 EPL teams so when he does leave for his beloved Premiership. That will be the last of his winners medals, and like many before him, when he looks back on his career he will regret leaving Celtic. I will have no sympathy for him but wish him luck in all his future endeavours. He has been been a good player for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic don't 'win' medals.... its basically fact at the start of the season (especially without Rangers) that Celtic will win the league. I wish you bhoys could come and play in England so you realise you would also be relegation candidates in the EPL. The only reason you are in the Champions League is because your league is so noncompetitive!

Agree0 Disagree0

Another anon post, if you believe so much ib what you are saying put your name to it.

I agree with a previous post the E.P.L is the most over rated league, it suvives on shameless promotion from comentators, media etc.

Lost Bhoy 52

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha what a delusional tw*t, If celtic where in the EPL and had the millions to spend that every other EPL team had and with our massive support worldwide they would attract the worlds best players and be at the other end challenging for the title..FACT! Also you say we would be relegation candidates in the EPL? why the hell is every EPL team after half of our squad then, we cant be that bad. Out with liverpool and man u, Celtic are the biggest club in Britain! I am afraid you "no name" are one of the many millions of brainwashed EPL football fans that soak up Skys propaganda!

Celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree0

I am the 'no name' posted. I'm a Villa fan called Ben and I believe all EPL teams except QPR and Reading and maybe Wigan would finish above you. You wouldn't have players coming to play Champions League as you wouldn't qualify and you wouldn't be able to cope with the style of play. You Celtic fans are so big headed because you have no competition in your league and even the players aren't motivated about the league anymore! That's why they will all leave.

Norwich, Sunderland and Stoke are in a three-way battle to sign Celtic star Gary Hooper.

understands that Norwich are in pole position to land the striker, after Canaries boss Chris Hughton travelled to Celtic Park on Thursday to see Hooper score a late winner for the Hoops against Motherwell.

Hughton is keen to add to his attacking options, as his side have often struggled to find the net this season, with Grant Holt the club's joint top scorer in the Premier League with just 4 goals.

Sunderland and Stoke have also struggled in front of goal this season, scoring just 21 times in the league so far, and are eyeing a move for Hooper.

The 24-year-old has just 18 months left on his Celtic contract and is keen to move to the Premier League.

Hooper has been a revelation since moving north of the border from Scunthorpe in 2010, scoring 62 goals in 106 games.

Celtic have offered him an improved deal, but has been told the terms are not in line with the current top earners at the club, which could speed up a move to England.

If this is right and he goes to Norwich we should try and get Holt as part of the deal big target man and might be just what we need especially for the SPL and could almost gaurantee him European football. As for hooper if he wants to go then cash in now but as I've said before someone should tell him what happened to Liam Miller. All the best for 2013. MurphyBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

8 MILL not a penny less + add on.s eg 30 goals = 500, 000, +sell on 25%.

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich, Sunderland and Stoke or Celtic ? I think he'll stay until the summer at least and hope for a bigger club than those.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard Norwich were looking at Kayal not Hooper

Agree0 Disagree0

Other reports suggest Hughton was there to watch Kayal. No doubt Hooper will be of interest to him as well though. If clubs want to sign a Celtic player, they'll have to pay what they're worth. That said, i honestly think Kayal is more disposable than a lot of the rest of the squad. Say celtic sold kayal for 4-5m, they probably wouldn't need a replacement this season and then we're laughing.

Agree0 Disagree0

We wouldn't need to replace kayal? Course we would. That would leave brown, misses many matches, ledley- misses many matches and wanyama who is leaving glasgow very soon.

Kayal will majorly soften the blow of losing vic and whilst not the same all round player as vic, is a more than able deputy.

I feel it is imperative we lose no one other than vic from midfield as we saw what happened against hibs at home earlier in the season with no brown, ledley or kayal. We were left with twardzik to play in there and he's not yet good enough to win games in there.

Vics gone, kayal needs to stay. Whether its now or the summer is irrelevant, beram there means we won't miss vic too much at all in my opinion. Need to remember it was only kayal getting injured in the of game that propelled vic into the side in the first place so there can't have been much between them in the coaches eyes.

Good luck playing in front of 60.000 at Norwich, Stoke and the many other mediocre EPL teams. If money is more important than fighting for trophies and battling relegation is more attractive than Champions League then Thank you and Goodnight.
The Celtic will always be here producing and signing great players and entertaining the best supporters in the World.
Very few have left the club and went on to bigger and better things and most who did wish they had never gone.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

If Hooper is being offered less than the current top earners then it means the club are not serious about keeping him. Give him parity with the likes of Brown, get him on an extended contract and even if he does move on later, the increase in transfer fee will compensate. Same goes for Wanyama.

Just seen Wilson has been banned for two games due to the "elbowing" incident at Dens. So a centre half running towards his own goal, with a centre forward pulling his arms and sleeve, tries to shake the striker off.In the attempt to do this he accidentally catches him on the face. After minor attention the striker re-enters the field of play and carries on.Post match the striker, to his credit, states Wilson did not mean to strike him and he was pulling at his arm, furthermore, no bad blood existed between the players.Could they maybe explain why this case was even raised? No complaint from Dundee or any players would suggest this is farcical in the extreme...............green jhedi

Believable17 Unbelievable4

I said at the time I thought he ment it jhedi and I've seen nothing to change my mind. His elbow clearly bends into a point on the way to the boys face.

If it were accidental then the other arm would have had the same movement; it didn't I'm afraid. We won't appeal I wouldn't think- there have been others done from other clubs in similar circumstances.

Jamie mac

Agree0 Disagree1

Just watched it on TV lunchtime news, lad may have been pulling him, but his (kelvin's) reaction was poor. Looked like an elbow jerked up to hit player. Guilty Im afraid..... Move on.

Agree0 Disagree1

Not having seen it on TV, and i understand the pictures were of a poor quality, I have to disagree.I dont know how you could shake someone loose without bending your elbow. Also the striker is considerably smaller than Wilson which may not have helped.I do however agree about the moving on, thanks for the reply.................green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Take the punishment it looked intentional to me, poor reaction from KW.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's the unnatural action after his elbow bent which concerned me as it happened jhedi. You don't see many running techniques including elbows at right angles. I'm not saying he is a dirty player here just that I feel his temper got the better of him.

Putting a bend in your arm, to the extent Wilson did actually makes your arm more like a handle, therefore easier to hold onto. You wouldn't think you would put your arm in such a position were he simply trying to free himself.

Only the player can tell us for sure whether it was deliberate, other than that its all guess work and opinions.

Personally, I don't seem to feel the same injustice about it as other fans- these occasions are few and far between.

I tend to stick with my nanas saying " if you kick one of us we all limp."

As for McLean yesterday- I agreed with everything you said jhedi. The man had no intention or desire to be impartial or fair- it was a performance I'd expect from Thomson if I'm honest.

A wee point for the bears claiming tim paranoia- how come no howlers were awarded against mccalls men?

Hmm, I wonder........

Not sure how true this is and I am not a Celtic supporter by any means. Was over in Spain and apparently there is talk that Barca would see a great advantage in sending Thiago Alicantara on loan to Celtic for the remainder of the season. Not 100% convinced in this, but given the fact how well Celtic played against Barca and how impressed Barca were with Celtic there could be an outside chance. Modules87
