Hi Ed, would just like your and my fellow bhoys opinon on who you think is our strongest and best midfeild if everyone was fit and 100%. We have Brown, Ledley, Kayal, Wanyama and even big Efe Ambrose, who we seen on Tuesday night could play in the middle of the park, all being able to play central midfield. We also have Commons, Forrest, Samaras, McGegouch and even Brown who can all play out wide and on the wings. Would just like to know what you all believe is our strongest midfield as I believe, it is very difficult to deciced at the moment and it must be giving Neil Lennon something to think about. All comments will be appreciated.
Hail Hail,
Jack the bhoy.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

This would be my starting 11

forster
matthews(if fit) ambrose wilson mulgrew
brown wanyama ledley
commons hooper samaras

Agree0 Disagree0

Forster
Matthews Ambrose Mulgrew Izzaguirre
McGeough Brown Ledley Samaras
Commons
Hooper

Ledley inside left allows for Sama and Izzy to get forward and Joe to drop back and help when they do. I like when Commons is allowed free rein, he enjoys the freedom and seems to find space. With this formation it is also important Brown stays back when we go forward to stymie any counter and help the back four.

Melb Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

So mcgeoch instead of possibly our best player victor wanyama strange one mate, otherwise I would agree with that team
MickL

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy above with no wanyama lol the best player in the spl not in your team wtf?
We are starting to look like a great squad so a set 11 is a difficult decision but for me Europe and spl should be 2 different formations spl-

Forster
Mathews rogne/Wilson ambrose mulgrew
Forrest. brown wanyama. commons
Hooper. Watt(sheer work rate)

Europe. Forster
Ambrose Wilson mulgrew
Mathews brown wanyama Ledley Samaras
Hooper Miku

SOS-bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

We are strong in midfield and as things stand at the moment i feel tht in the cl our midfield should be away from home a five with ledley brown vic commons and sammy the running and driving inside from sammy is priceless. at home play sammy upfront and possible bring forrest in to the mix and bring commons on later. my only worry is vic is in to every tackel and not every one is on the money a get a fright at times lol

Agree0 Disagree0

We do have a lot of quality and variety in midfield when the squad are all fit and I would like to see us play 3-5-2 a bit more.

Forster

Ambrose Rogne/Wilson Mulgrew

Matthews Brown Wanyama Ledley Sammy

Commons/Miku Hooper

Subs: Zaluska Izzy Kayal Forrest McGeough, Watt + any of the 13 above.

Still have injured guys like McCourt, Lassad and Stokes, plus Lustig as well so we do have the luxury of two full teams to choose from.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Forster
Matthews Wilson rogne mulgrew
Brown victor ambrose Ledley
Hooper sammy

Ska bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we send our a formation 4-3-3? Did that sort of nonsense not get us in trouble a few years ago. My four across the back would be Matthews, Wilson, Ambrose and Izzy. Midfield would be Forrest, Brown, Victor, Ledley Commons.
Either Hooper or Sammy up front! Other possible would be Mulgrew in left midfield or left back although Charlie has not made the greatest of starts to the season. I appreciate Emilo hasnt either but thought he played really well on Saturday!

Agree0 Disagree0

Forster

Mathews Ambrose Wilson Mulgrew

Brown Wanyama Kayal Ledley

Samaras

Hooper
I'd go with this team see how things are going if we need to tighten up sammy can drop back to a midfield 5 if we look like were getting on top sacrafice Kayal for Forrest and push broony into the middle. Hate to leave commons out think he's been great in SPL just worry he doesn't have the pace for CL games.
Welshbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Forster
Lustig Ambrose Wilson Mulgrew
Broonie Vic Kayal Ledley
Miku Hooper

Mind you cant see two upfront so probably more chance of:

Forster
Lustig Ambrose Wilson Mulgrew
Broonie Vic Kayal Commons Ledley
Miku

Hi ed I keep reading a lot of fans desperate to see Ibrahim getting a chance. I'm not in the know about these things but I met a Celtic coach at Manchester airport he was with a film crew and 2 young lads all kitted out in Celtic gear said they were filming this Irish tv programme to win a celtic contract. I had a conversation with him asking his thoughts on Ibrahim and he was of the opinion that he wasn't good enough and didn't see him ever being a regular. Just wondering if you had heard anything.

1) I have to agree with OP, I saw Ibrahim play in one game last season and I am not aware of any other games he has played in. Has he been playing in bounce games that fans have seen his ability and rate him so highly?

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never seen a post were any fan has rated him highly! Every post has asked the question - Why have we not seen him play?

There is clearly a reason behind it and it maybe that he is not good enough! Had a great CV before coming to us and on paper he sounds just what we need!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have a history of bedding players in slowly, i dont think we saw key for 6-9 months when we signed him. I think lennon prefers to toughen them up a bit before they make first team( we all know skillfull players will just get booted of the park in scotland). So im still hopefull we might see him, also he may just not be as good as those ahead of him ie mgeough, forrest, commons, samaras etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen him once last year and to be honest I don't know what all the fuss is. Very small and slight and I suppose if he was good enough he would be playing.

Great site I check it every day. Does anyone know where I'll be able to watch the Champions League game in Exeter? Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I saw the last one in one of those bars opposite the cathedral (forget which). The Australian sports bar on the highstreet would also be a good bet.

Agree0 Disagree0

The game is a 5pm kick off mate so I would imagine most pubs will be showing it

Ice man

Agree0 Disagree0

Just spent weekend in Exeter. We stayed at Premier Inn at Countess Wear. They have a " Beefeater" attached and have a bar which shows sport.
Get into the resteraunt and have a " mixed Grill". You won't have to eat for a fortnight. Enjoy game.

Best wishes to former Celt Evander Sno who suffered a cardiac arrest yesterday. With help of a defibrillator resolved the problem and he managed to walf off the pitch.

Believable15 Unbelievable4

Good luck evander.take care,YNWA....

Agree0 Disagree0

Seem to remember him having a similar serious scare a few years ago; poor guy.
Hope he makes a full recovery.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe it is time for evander to hang up his boots! there is alot more to life than football!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its incredible he's even been playing football. 2 years ago he had a heart attack on the pitch and it took the paramedics 10 mins to resuscitate him. And yesterday its happened again, the defibrillator brought him round and he walked off the pitch. He's been playing well apparently too. gutted for the big guy, but he should count himself lucky he's still here. He has to give serious thought to quitting now, a heart attack (when your lucky enough to survive one) is your body's way of telling you to slow down or that something is seriously wrong. Next time he might not be as lucky.

Good luck in your recovery Evander, hope you keep well this time.

Not bad yesterday, still thk we lack invention and r defence is woeful, hooper was brilliant, brown couldnt score coke ffs! Really thk we miss Stokes, Lasssad, and big Andre Blackman is a huge loss loaning him to them inverness ****s wtf? i fear a hammering onn tuesday, Jenna Tills Xxxxx

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Think you are being harsh on the defence yesterday, big Fraser didn't have a save to make, motherwell were restricted to one long range shot that went miles over the bar, Brown was excellent apart from the shocking penalty miss, it amazes me how we have the best striker in the spl and 2 of the best free kick takers in the league as well that we have such a poor penalty record. We will have to raise our game for Tuesday, think a point is possible tho. johnbhoy79

Agree0 Disagree0

Andre Blackman a huge loss?? How do you work that out or are you just a person in disguise?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its usual for me to be the pessimist,so much that ive been called a ***?FFS who are spartak moscow?if we go from the 1st min to last min, yes,WE CAN WIN,COME ON LENNY GO FOR IT.......jimthetim...

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip wee where good yesterday only criticism is not getting 5 more did u not see the bench Sewell the strength in depth wee have

Agree0 Disagree0

Walk back the division 3 , there is no way on earth you support the hoops ya daftie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why cant a celtic fan make a negative comment about the team without being accused of being a rangers fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon we can get at least a point in Moscow, Samaras is back for us and that is actually going to be a huge lift. We are also going to be the fresher team with Spartak coming back from a 1000 mile trip with the team they played on the weekend. Also, they have 4 key players missing, including their first team keeper. I think we have a great chance in Moscow!

JJ Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason you are being accused of being a Sevco fan is that your post is ridiculous; and as we all know CFC fans understand football and have intelligence therefore.....Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

The performance at Fir Park on Saturday was the most dominant I have seen from Celtic in years. Normally we are involved in a a war against them but we just played football and that is where we won the game, we didnt sink to their level. I think Ambrose and Wilson are a really strong pairing, physical and quick. Nice to see Izzy actually performing the way he can, glad Lenny has kept faith in him. If we are solid on Tuesday and frustrate them then we have a good chance, they are a decent team but you know what, so are we. They will be very wary of our attacking threat as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but I watched the match on Alba and Izzy gave the ball away four times in the first half when it was easier for him to retain possession or clear his lines. 4 times in one half is not good enough and that's him supposed to have been back to his best Think Lennon was being a bit too generous in his assessment of the wee man's performance. Ambrose-so far so good, Hooper outstanding.

What a fantastic display.Murderwell were swatted aside like the irritant they are.I felt we also put the The rangers beating the top of the league debate to bed.Lenny had obviously spotted a flaw in the well defence as i thought the off the ball movement from the forward players was exceptional.Ambrose really looks like a player to me,Izzy, fingers crossed, looked back to his old self and generally the play was lovely to watch.Injured players coming back was another bonus and all in all we seem to be in pretty good shape for Moscow.I would take a draw right now but the way Lenny is learning his trade who knows what he has up his sleeve. And by the way.3 pm on a saturday is fitba time! It was great to have a lie in for an away game instead of those stupid early kick offs............green jhedi
