Anyone have any updates on Stokes' injury?
I for one think that Stoke is a very effective SPL striker and we could really use his skills right now. Heard anything at all Ed?

Ontario Bhoy {Ed007's Note - Sorry OB, all I know is he is back training. I would hazard a guess that it would be after the winter shutdown we will see him playing again.}

Stokes tweeted today seeing good gym session n stuff plus Wednesday game should be the last he misses

Would anybody else go for Ricardo Queresma?Free agent after leaving besiktas, good playmaker that we need and offers experience aswell?
I would give him a 6 month contract with the option of a further year or so as he could also be registered for cl,
Another one I would like is breed hangeland?
Good centre half with experience of the cl also?
Out of contract in the summer so they might want to cash in now and after seeing our exploits in the cl so far I think we, re very attractive to him.
Got rid of loads a players in the summer and heavily reduced the wage bill so I would personally love the board to give the fans that backing of excitement as tbh we have raked in well over 20m are financially stable and the both of them could do a job,
A bit of experience is what we miss just now,
Whats your thoughts?

Dont rate him...always had potential but never fulfilled it

Great ability but too pricey for us to think about. This mould of player is definetly required though and badly.

Jamie mac

Agree1 Disagree0

I would take him in a heart beat but I don't need to manage him, the guys class but a bit of a nightmare.!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont see why not, if we got him we could always sell him for a profit, between 7-10million, thats how much you could squeeze outa a club to play for him, would like to see him come but wouldnt want him to distupt the team, also hangaland would be great too

Agree0 Disagree0

How much in wages these 2 players gonna cost us. Would be great but realistically could we afford them not a chance.

Auwch well the New Years nearly upon us all, I'm wishing all the hoops fans, all the contributors to this site, the guys that come on for a wee nosey and a bit of stirring, and Ed 007 a great new year in general or if its been pi55 an even better 2013. Cracking work you do Ed, surprised you put up with some of the stuff that gets posted, but suppose that's what it's all about?! Your a better man than me lol.
Yeah I'm early with the well wishing but as for some I'm busy tomorrow and tue so thot I'd start now!
On the transfer front, goin by the media the guy Gershon looks a shoe in? Hopefully one more, no Marque signings tho unless there not past it plz....which then makes it unlikely!
A nice wee unknown gem to pull the strings in midfield!
Happy 2013 everybody, Well done Ed. The futures bright, The futures green and white

Bigbadjohn {Ed007's Note - Thanks BBJ, all the best to you.}

Does anyone think all the rumours on Hooper, Wanyama and Forster etc etc etc..... are getting a bit much? If all was to be believed then all our good players will be sold. Come on! We got more than enough money from CL to cover our debt and running cost for a while and then some. We do not need to sell and to be honest i dont think NL will, if he can help it. Come on board!

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Your right about all the money generated, but not needing to sell players and guys wanting to leave are 2 different things!! Contracts nowadays don't mean much, maybe just add a mill or 2 to the transfer.
Hopefully everybody barring the fringe players stay?!

Why do you all believe the press in this country.lets start with anthony stokes you would have thought he committed murder with the amount of coverage he received (front page)
for going to a party regardless of who
it was for.then the dundee fiasco sorry near riot, if it was that bad the tv cameras at the game would have been all over it i read three newspapers
and have yet to see one photo of a so called near riot.then there, s kelvin wilson , espn and the press went overboard to get him banned.charles
green goes to n ireland to promote the share issue meets loyalists gets a conducted tour of there strongholds , recent game at ibrox 8 rangers fans arrested two policemen attacked and injured, none of these were worthy of front page or any other page headlines, the list is endless, anyway my new year resolution is to get rid of this paranoia.happy new year to ed and everyone else on this site.jimbhoy

If all the rumours are true about our players, ie: Wanyama and Izzy to Man Utd, Hooper to Juve etc. then we must be a shoe-in to win the CL, seeing as we have a dream team of potential signings for the remaining clubs in the last 16!! I think we know the media tend to start sniffing the glue they got for Christmas at this time of the yea.

Agree0 Disagree0

RE the 'Riot' at Dundee. Sevco 5088 followers have smashed up several pubs in Peterhead, Stirling and Berwick this year and absolutely ZERO press coverage.I only heard about it because I live in Stirling(when the albion beat them). The succulent lamb is still well and truly on the menu and the media mafia are still plying their trade.

Is this a competition to see how many transfer stories you can get wrong in one go?

Tyoyschuk (sp?) Could still do a job for us but I don't believe rumour for a minute. As for the rest of it-Shoosh! NL said it himself yesterday, team was set up wrong against a well organised hibs side. Rogne got caught out and we paid the price. No way Doyle or Obua would get anywhere near out first 11! The boy Griffiths maybe but not the others. Hibs wanted it more yesterday and that is a problem but overall, we're still sitting pretty. Daviebhoy

Another keane? you say that like that abad thing.. i havent a clue why we didnt sign keane on a permanent bases... wages id say but he was great for us that season... infact i think we should sign him now

I think we have played well in a good few games and have been dominant in almost all domestically. But I still don't think we have reached the level of consistency that we expect from The Celtic and we are definitely not scoring enough goals (less than 2 per game) in the SPL and have also conceded 15 in 20 games.
The players were accused of complacency and CL distraction, but I think supporters are over confident as well due to the absence of a recognised title rival.
Our top scorer has 8 goals after 20 games with no other Celtic player in the top 14 places and I feel we go into games with far too many players not at their peak. I know we are top and in the CL last 16, but I honestly think we are still a gear short for this stage of a season and complacency can bite you on the backside if you're not careful.

Totally agree mate. It's the domestic cups which will come back to haunt us if we continue in this manner. I know we're in the semi of one but look at recent history. We're definitely not at the level we shld b, it ain't the case of others improving, far from it.stevo dundee

What was our SPL table stats at this stage for the last three seasons? Points, goals for and against..... That's the benchmark.

Lennon to swoop for Eoin Doyle Hibs in the window. Doyle has 8 goals
despite featuring in 5 different positions this season.

Believable4 Unbelievable37

Add Gary Deegan Hibs to that list

According to the Scotsman tomorrow Celtic are linked with a 'swoop' for Israeli Centre Back Rami Gershon.

He's 24 and can also play left-back

Mrs E

Just came on here to post the same thing but you beat me to it, :-) Loan move with option to buy is what I heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that seems to be the rumours. Ambrose is away with the African Cup of Nations and it could leave us short..

Ed007, have you heard anything different ? Mrs E {Ed007's Note - It seems that it is his agent everything is coming from, it is either true or he is using the CFC name to drum up interest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Ed007 :-) Mrs E

He's was on loan to another Belgian team from standard, says it all or could be an gem no one else has seen
