Hooper is a target for Southampton and Norwich and his replacement may well be Leigh griffiths. we are also going to have talks with Barry bannon, Slemdi sidel, and Adam le fondre

Facts

Rab the green jedi

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Ad take le fondre in a min. proven scorer in the ell when he got a chance, other 2 not so sure.

Agree0 Disagree1

Firstly your talking crap. Secondly there's only one Green Jhedi. DH

Agree2 Disagree0

Not the sort of players I think we should be looking at Gj griffins will just be another Riorden good for hibs but couldn't cut it at a bigger club plus he carries to much baggage! Who is Slemdi sidel? Never heard of him googled him and nothing came up! Bannon and Le Fondre are avarrage at best!

Agree0 Disagree0

No way is this true. Hooper won't be of to Norwich, if he wanted there he'd have forced a transfer in January. As for the players coming in I very much doubt that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said DH! CraigyBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Bannan would b great! He's a tim as well could see him at celtic for years

Agree0 Disagree0

Only thing that was missin was fact being in caps 'FACT' lol mince mince and more mince! And there is only one Green Jhedi FACT.

Big talk here in Newcastle that the toon are close to agreeing a deal for Wanyama! People seem quite excited and not giving it the old "yeah but he only plays in the spl". I watch both teams closely and he's certainly better than tiote. If he was to move anywhere i'd hope it was Newcastle for personal reasons but I can't see them paying any more than £10m upfront tbh

Believable4 Unbelievable14

No way! After what your manager said about us when we got foster would not deal with your club and if so you would have to pay more then anyone else. Top teams in Europe after him so he won't go to a small club, he is to good for low epl clubs

Agree3 Disagree0

Backwards step for big Vic if its TRUE which I doubt very much he would be as well signing for stoke Southampton or some other mediocre mob than for that shower of sh##
Dhman

Agree2 Disagree0

If he goes this summer it will be Man utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's good enough to improve most teams. Let the bidding commence. I reckon Inter or Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Relegation battle or champions league last 16. don't think the big man will need to think too long about this one

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right he won't would be in Newcastle in a heartbeat its all well and good saying champs league money talks big bucks is down there not up here

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama knocked back Aston Villa to come to Celtic exactly because of the lure of CL football. Like Alex Ferguson said; Newcastle are a small regional club.

Outs:

Miku
Lassad
Gershon
Ambrosia
McCourt
Rogne

Surely with this lot all going we can free up wages to bring in a new Centre Half, LB & Creative midfielder and still cut the wage bill.

I really don't think Ambrose is as bad as people make out. The guy has not been with us that long. don't get me wrong I know he can be a bomb scare at times but I have seen enough to think he could do a decent job for us. CraigyBhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

Craigybhoy u must not watch too many games because Ambrose is 1 of the worst cbs Celtic have ever had
Scottl1888

Craigbhoy I would agree with you. He is definitely made out to be worse than he is. He is capable; although, lacks consistency. Kelvin Wilson was similar in his first season. and he has been fantastic this season

Agree1 Disagree0

Ambrose started off well then like most of our cbs he nosedived. I would move him on and get someone else in

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't feel comfy with ambrose in the team, would rather we addressed the centre half we've required for yrs first, ball winning no nonsense centre half, prefer mulgrew in there also to deploying him in the mid

Ska bhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

I have to agree with Scottl1888 on this one. He's a nightmare at centre half. I genuinely believe he would be better served as a defensive midfielder, just like what Chelsea have done with David Luiz. They don't trust him at centre half in the big games because of his poor concentration and tendancy to make rash tackles in and around the box. Ambrose's first game for Celtic was playing in midfield against Raith rovers in the cup and he had a great game. Had it not been for Hooper scoring 4 goals that night he would have been man of the match. I think if he's to have a future at Celtic he either has to vastly improve at centre half or be moved into midfield.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont think ambrose is as bad as people make out if he stops trying to beat players and just make the easy pass don't see why him and wilson can't be a good pairing

Agree1 Disagree0

Ambrose is better at CM than CB IMO

Agree3 Disagree0

Just Wish we would let a centre back or two settle in for a good period of time. Far too much chopping and changing in the cb positions since Mjallby and joos. It's a position players grow into and the crowd scaring them within 5 minutes of arriving does nothing for confidence.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not sure we've seen enough of Lassad to come out either way, yeah he isn't going to be spectacular but not sure if we should get rid of him just yet. I can't see him or Ambrose leaving.
Regardless if we bring in a CB or not, would like to see Marcus Fraser or another of the young guys getting some cup games and league games next season.

Agree0 Disagree1

Get Richard dunne in. 2-3 good years in him, experience we need and he is out of contract.

Agree1 Disagree3

I know a lot of people don't fancy it and think he's past it but I have to agree with the post about Richard Dunne. He never had much pace so that's not the issue, I just feel his experience would be invaluable to us. He would organise that defence no problem, throws his head into anything, winning nearly every one and would put the fear into most centre forwards. We lack a player with his agression. Of course I only agree with this signing on the premise he would take a massive wage cut and passes a stringent medical after the bad injury he's just back from.

Agree0 Disagree1

Like or Loath Ambrose, the fact is mrLennon isn't going to let him go yet, maybe 1more season to lift his game

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see us give more games to fringe players with potential:

Miku - Atajic
Gershon/Rogne - Fraser
McCourt - McGeogh
Lassad (has another year contract?) - Watt

And save even more wages for a player who will be an automatic choice.

Paper this morning saying that Celtic are looking at 2 Ivorian's, striker Yannick Sagbo and defender Brice Dja Djedje. Both play for French side Evian and are out of contract next summer, so would be allowed to leave.

Believable12 Unbelievable6

It's a story by guidi, the Sevco bum licker, so no doubt made up

Ska Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sagbo looks decent. Dja-Djedje is a right full back, can't see that one happening but these are the types of players we should be looking at. Just under the radar. Noel

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like another pi** poor scottish tabloid hack guessing to me. Out of contract and lenny watching the game = lazy reporting to sell a paper. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Too right SB just like his whopper of Wanyama going to Stoke for £10million. DH

Agree0 Disagree0

There is another Ivorian at Evian - Eric Tie Bi - big strong guy in the wanyama type holding role. He is young (23) and big, athletic, good in the air. If celtic are following anyone at Evian, I think it might be him, or else perhaps Jonathan Mensah - young CentreBack who has done well in the Ghana team. jean-Pierre Laguerre.

Just had a look at the lineups for this match. Mohammed rabiu was playing for Evian as well - strong midfielder from Ghana (?) - Sort of player Neil likes - wouldn't be surprised if he was someone we were looking at. Young, english speaker, strong, versatile, international player. Fits the profile. jean-Pierre Laguerre.

Ed a wee question for you. Last season celtic waited to see if they qualified for the champions league and guaranteeing £20m before making a move in the transfer market yet all they brought in were Efe £900k, Miku loan and lassad free! Do you think celtic will again wait until champions league qualification before moving in the transfer market or do you think we will strengthen before hand to enhance our chances of qualification given the amount of millions we made from last years campaign?

Ice man

Believable7 Unbelievable3

This is my pet hate with us failure to spend when in a position of strength. well we are at that position again so let's wait and see

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we have a long history of 'Wait and see' and the hesitation often leads to fancied players being nabbed by other clubs or we dither over the fee.
The manager should have been allocated a chunk of the CL money from last year as soon as the Cup final whistle blew as I am sure he would have given the board a wish list and only he will know the score with guys who will be leaving for definite and where we need to improve and strengthen.
The CL qualifiers are weeks away and we cannot be complacent in the knowledge we are

Agree0 Disagree0

This has allways been the celtic way very slow off the mark when comes to signing players. i'm in my 60 s have supported celtic all my life and its built into the way, who ever is in charge at the time works its just the way we do things. May be better than rushing in and not getting it right as others have found to there cost Meagle Tim

Agree0 Disagree0

We will definitely wait until qualification has been secured before signing any players. the CL money from last year is paying for the new superstore/museum/ticket office and upgrading the corporate facilities. the signing policy of the lennon era will continue. it is frustrating but we have to operate within our means. we don't want to continually spend millions more than we can afford, running up massive debts and subsequently being liquidated and relegated, becoming the laughing stock of world football do we?

Agree0 Disagree0

The way I see it is, we have an easy league, can spend a bit less on players and develop them at a decent rate, punt them for triple what we pay sometimes a bit more. Then get cl group stage for 4 or 5 seasons in a row and we could end up like Porto or ajix great foundation and can now afford more investment into there team. I mean we carry the flag for Scottish footbal, no one else holds a candle to us atm. This is all a dream but its not impossible if we keep doing what we are doing
