Unfortunatly? Think he will be a great signing. A guy who has carried wolves for years and plenty of experience for the youngsters. Will bang goals in in the spl

Honestly, there is no need for Neil to sign Doyle. We are in a great position just now. Great couple of young hungry signings already in the door (£5m), with the thousands of players who are available, at a decent price, and would enhance our squad. for me DK would not be one of them. HH YNWA.

Stokes Doyle combo sounds good to me smash the SPF'nL

Why is it that folks think that Doyle is a bad thing? it was just 2 or 3 season ago that he was being touted at 18 mill plus? I personally would welcome him with open arms! HH Scotibhoy B

I'd love to get Doyle in, granted he hasn't been the best over the last few seasons but he's been part of a team that has nose dived to league 1 from the EPL in 2 seasons and I honestly think if he got a fresh start with the hoops he would rediscover the form he had when he was linked with Arsenal, he's defo worth a punt

If we are going for Doyle (and McFadden is also being touted), then add Hooper, Samaras, Stokes, Balde, Watt and even Commons as possible front men/attacking midfielders.
Add Forrest and McGeough and the younger players that are emerging and attacking options are numerous.
Obviously Hooper's future is uncertain but I would think we could lose another one or two, as it would be near impossible to keep all of these guys happy even allowing for squad rotation and injuries?

Hows his goal ratio

I was against Doyle at first, but with our new signings and the guys we already have, we don't really have an older more seasoned striker. So my mind has changed. Hope to see him sign for us soon

If he kept his head down and stayed out of trouble, I think he would bang in goals for us. Would cost about 5 million, can't see us paying that. Gazdcelt

Ed/anyone - given that we are on the lookout for a 'squad' defender, with Ambrose away/Rogne and Gershon leaving etc - If Mouyokolo doesn't work out any thoughts on approaching trabsonspor for Sol Bamba? At 28 he is older than we normally go for, but A quality centre back, who played in Scotland for years (Dunfermline - Hibs) is superb in the air, and useful with the ball at his feet. Am sure he could be enticed back, and is in the last year of his contracz I think, so shouldn't cost crazy money? Any thoughts? Jean_Pierre Laguerre ]

I think Bamba was nothing short of excellent in the SPL he liked to get the ball on the ground and play foitball also was sad to see him leave Scottish football good shout OP almost forgot about him Celtic could do worse.

For me your first choice defender this season should maybe be your squad defender next year, this way you are improving every year and getting stronger. I believe we should not just settle for squad players I would rather improve on what we have. Fewer signings that are quality rather than more signings that aren't much better than players we have, our youth can get the same opportunities as buying say a squad player.

Jean-pierre your suggestion is excellent as usual. You should defo think about a career as a scout. Each suggestion is always well thought out and I don't think I have disagreed with one yet. What do you think of john mensah? Not sure how hos wages would be. But he was always an excellent defender and has bags of experience now. At 32 his tag wouldn't be that expensive I would think

Thanks Darrenbhoy - appreciated. I have posted re J Mensah on one of the forums somewhere actually - he is a six foot defender, so possibly (but not necessarily) a wee bit small for what we are looking for. He is a fantastic athlete, and very fit for his age, but struggled at Sunderland. His fitness regime alone, wouldI feel, be enough to embarass some of our lazier players. However - on balance, I would pass.
Another player I have suggested on here though, is JONATHAN Mensah. no relation, but younger ghana defender playing at Evian Thon Gaillard - NL watched them recently in the cup final. He played CB for Ghana (alongside john mensah) in the world cup, and was excellent. He also came through the superb Udinese system, and was on loan at granada (udinese's sister team). So technically he is very sound. At 6'2'' he is bigger than john mensah, and a lot younger. (22/23). Evian are a team I am sure we are looking very closely at.

Just read on news now we are still interested in Juan agudelo, doesn't look like we going to buy him through as his contract runs out in December so probably gona try and get him on a pre contract. I know we don't need him now but come December we might. He is a decent player
