I think there could well be something in the Alfred Finnbogason Rumours. I know Lennon refused to confirm or deny interest but he normally denies a rumour if there's nothing in it.

Don't know much about the boy but I hear he's a goal scorer. Surely to god we can afford to pay the 5m they are looking for. We need a signing that is going to lift the club after loosing our two best players. Ian L

Alfie Finn will be a Celtic player if/when we get by the Swedes

Agree0 Disagree0

Heerenveen appointed a new chief exec only yesterday- there has been no one there to deal with as such. Lennon never commented as he's not wanting to annoy this new exec.

We've been looking for a striker- he's a very good one, and we've clearly been looking to holland for targets I.e Virgil and derk.

I'm extremely hopeful we can get this one done but the disappointment of recent "windows" is all too fresh in the memory.

Think the signing of this guy clearly depends on us qualifying for champions league, fingers crossed!

Agree1 Disagree0

MikeyBhoy I agree with what you say about NLs body language and obviously, he didn't dismiss the signing. "Just speculation AT THE MOMENT", to quote. Berbatov, Huntelaar, Lewandowski, Van Wolfswinkel, Giroud. Finnbogason will fall into that list I think if we don't sign him whilst we actually can.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bhoy scored 2 in set 1 up yday in herenveens first league game class going on what lenny said after the game yesterday he's looking to get a top striker in

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if Lennon's willing to pay 2M for utter keech like Balde then 4M for a top striker should be easy peasy.

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit harsh on Balde Iain. Give the lad a chance to settle in to the team and play a couple of games first.

Neil Lennon confirms we aren't in for Kevin Doyle at his press conference today. On tv, he looked very sheepish when asked about Alfred Finnbogason. I sense something is going on.

Believable28 Unbelievable4

I hope you are right about this one or celtic will have 4 strikers and no out and out goal scorer between them if doyle is signed for a physical presence why pay 2 million for balde,

Agree0 Disagree0

In lenny we trust

Bet'ya the Icelander signs for Celtic, Lenny wants him and he'll get him, watch this space

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling, if the Finnbogason deal goes ahead, it will be after the Elfsborg game. and pending a psotive result for us.

Or maybe I am just holding onto hope more than anything.

Agree1 Disagree0

Glad we are not wasting time on these nobody strikers the papers have linked us with over the last 6 months

Finnabogson seems to be an ideal striker for us, surely Lennon has seen that Stokes just ain't good enough. He is SPL at best hence he flopped in England and came back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I took it from his reaction that there is something going on behind the scenes regarding that deal hope we get him! that's one exciting possability if he signs I think our club will have delivered

Hope we get this guy in . I just moved back to Scotland after two years in Holland finnbogasson will make hooper look like Wayne Biggins he will be our best since Larsson the board need to act now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv heard we will sign him but only if we get through this next round and have a reasonable chance of of beating the next team for the group stages but if we get drawn against an arsenal then he will just go with what he has as it would be asking a lot and board won't want to spend for the uefa cup.

Morgybhoy

Agree1 Disagree1

Why would we fear Arsenal anymore? We've beaten better, but to do it again the board need to reinvest in the team, as they have so often promised to do. Surely a tough final qualifying draw would be our 'cup final' this season from the boards point of view. We're also reminded often enough how we don't budget ourselves on the CL, money gained from that is a bonus apparently. So surely money gained from sales can be spent back on players. Entirely (or near enough). Far too much re-action and not enough pro-action at times if you ask me. Plus, if we do drop into the Europa I'd still be hoping the board to support NL and have a right good go at it.

Cant get arsenal in the final round if we make it as we're In The champions route

Agree0 Disagree0

We're seeded for play off round if we get thru this qualifier so we won't get arsenal

epl starts in 2 weeks

Agree1 Disagree1

I hope joe stayes as he is an unsung hero in our team and no more players to be sold please till we get able replacements in as our team has been weekend by selling big vic our best player in CL last season along with big Geo and no one comming in to replace him there is no one at parkhead just now who can fill his boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't sell for less than 10 million

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't go, doesn't want to go wants a new deal. I think they would be barking up the wrong tree.

Celtic fans want to keep, Cardiff fans don't want him. Let's hope we will all be happy. Good luck in Europe.

looks as if the doyle deal will definately happen before window shuts.

poor show, be better taking griffiths from them. doyle isn't the answer to replacing hooper.

Doyle can play the lone striker role well, so this may be Lennon's thinking for Europe. I'll be bealing though if he's brought in as our main striker. JC

Agree1 Disagree0

We better not be paying 2mil for him, total lack of scope by us. PK1888

Agree1 Disagree0

McKay from Inverness. Will score plenty. A goalscorer is the same no matter level, if you have pace. If he gets chances he will score. Skippy did it.

Agree0 Disagree2

There will be another striker brought in Aswell as Doyle.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree1

I really don't understand all the comments against bringing an international striker with years of Premiership experience in. He's a good player and perhaps will be a positive influence on our squad. I also don't think he will be the only striker NL brings in. For less than a £1m it could prove to be a good move from us.
Henrik's Tongue

Agree0 Disagree2

PL selling us short again. I posted a link a few weeks back to a story published around season ticket renewal time where we were told if we needed to spend 4 million plus on a player who would add value we would try to buy him. Clearly we would rather shop in the bargain bucket.

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy from Inverness is s good shout. I'd take him before Doyle

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Doyle's more like a replacement for McCourt .

Agree0 Disagree1

If he does sign I think he willdo a job, maybe not the "big" signing we all want but I reckon he could surprise a few of the doubters.

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree1

Neil has came out and said he's not interested in Doyle so relax

Agree0 Disagree1

Billy McKay Supports R*ngers his whole family do so he would never sign for us more importantly he's not good enough

Agree2 Disagree1

Grow up, who cares who he supports
