So the Rangers Fighting Fund is at £250,000. Not exactly something to be proud of when you see this

www.inverness-courier.co.uk/News/250000-investment-in-Caley-Thistle-29032012.htm

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Ha ha even the Caley got more backers than The Shame........Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

You call rangers the shame, celtic arent exactly innocent? your manager has been charged three times in a week, your club fined by uefa for setting off fire works and displaying shameful banners.

Grass isnt always greener on the otherside...

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a fighting fund not a share issue. I will invest in Rangers when the option for a share issue comes about. In the meantime I will do the small things like buy a scarf, go to the legends game etc but I dont trust where my money would go if I donated a Grand now.

How much do scarfs cost times that by 50000

Evening Bhoys and Ghirls. Lets me be honest. Did we really feel that Neil
would be given justice in this poisionous little country. Todays change to the charges against these morons is indefensible and an insult to Neil, Mrs Godman and especially the memory of Mr Paul McBride. Im disgusted and ashamed to call myself Scottish. C.M.

Believable23 Unbelievable13

Every decent person should write to their msp, mp the scottish and british justice minister. how can a bomb be assualt. it should be classed as a terroist attack as they plan their attack for religous reasons

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the most vile bigoted disgusting little country in the world it makes you ashamed to be scottish

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not all vile little bigots mate, only a portion of Celtic and a portion of Rangers fit that bill, be proud of your heritage, you've helped conquer and civilize lands all over the world, and invented Golf, ok the Northern Irish guys rule it now. {Ed007's Note - Tiger will be back on top after The Masters.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Vile country.....it pains me to see whats happening here..a bit like living in the south during the 60's........little do the biggots know, just like the 60's other countries are shaking their heads.......only hope the step in before the murders escalate.

Agree0 Disagree0

In any other country in the world they muppets would have been tried for terrorism.
Not in this country tho...

Agree0 Disagree0

Vile country. u r vile to suggest that the whole country is a reflection of this horrid situation. i am proud to be scottish. laws of the land dont always protect innocents the way they should so lobby the government to change the judical process but how dare you call this country vile!

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly the f*ckers should be hanged but poisionous vile country get a grip and move then, , stop being small minded like the people who did this and posting p1sh. craig+babybear proud scot

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys, annoying though it may be, unless these two were planning to beat Neil to death with a lump of plasticine then I think it was pretty certain that an attempted murder charge would not be proved. Let's hope they still get a wee stay at the other big hoose in our fair city, courtesy of her majesty.

Agree0 Disagree0

The legality of the decision is extremely questionable even if it is not corrupt. How it can be assumed that once an attack of this kind has been launched and therefore become remote and no longer in the control of the attacker is beyond my comprehension. If this device was received by someone who for any reason placed it, for example, within their mouth, it would then become lethal and since the sender has no control over the receiver this is an act of attempted murder. No question and no dubiety.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope the potential for "assaulting" some poor postmen/postwomen is taken into account when they measure the number of people who may have been exposed to handling these "harmless" little thingys that would never detonate!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you walk into a bank with a toy gun and rob it , its called armed robbery, if you send a hoax bomb, it should be attempted murder not in this country, its assault. I wonder if someone sent this hoax bomb to the queen or prime minister would this still be assault I very much doubt it terrorism would be charge 1 then about 8-9 other charges

Send your disgust at the Lennon trial decision to firstminister@scotland.gsi.gov.uk

Will he comment on this decision or stay quiet ??

Believable20 Unbelievable9

If this country becomes independant Im off. The legal system is a joke and the SNP are doing a great job of ensuring that the establishment continue to thrive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to hear Salmonds view on todays court decision. He is quite good at having his say on scottish football. Lets hear it ALEC are you a man of the people or only certain PEOPLE?

Agree0 Disagree0

Im pretty sure salmod wont be best pleased with the decision to reduce chargea. But this happens every single day in our flawed justice system. Would we rathe these thugs walked free if it was an 'all or nothing' on a charge. Or receive a conviction on a leser charge

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive sent him a polite email and I urge all celtic fans to do the same

Agree0 Disagree0

That wee cretin Salmond was quick enough to make a sympathetic statement on the plight of a football team who have not been paying taxes,paye,debts to fellow spl clubs,allegedly had dual contracts for players which break spl/sfa rules,a club who have showed no shame by taking the proceeds of a charity match away from a prostate cancer charity,and to my knowledge have yet to turn over the proceeds from the poppy fund. I wonder how long it will take before that attention seeking excuse for a man Salmond makes a similar statement on the plight of a tax paying football manger who has had his life threatened on a number of occasions and has been attacked while doing his job. Could you imagine the outrage if it was Avram Grant who was Celtic manager and was receiving death threats. Bigotry,sectarianism,racism and hatred is alive and well in Bonnie Scotland and is to be found in every aspect of Scottish society including law and politics,or so it would seem.
RabBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed,

This subject of not paying a poppy fund rises it's ugly head yet again. This has been unproven. {Ed007's Note - I thought it had been paid.}

Apologies Ed if I'm wrong with regards to the poppy fund. 5 out of 6 complaints isn't bad though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good Afternoon First Minister,

Today I am writing to inform you of my disgust at the latest debacle concerning our Justice system and your unbelievable silence.

Mr. Salmond, if I remember correctly you are the man that brought in the new sectarian law, you are the man who preaches equality, freedom and justice, however, it seems what you preach is very different from your actions.

Neil Lennon was attacked in front of 3 million people and yet the person who committed this crime walked away with a slap on the wrists.

Paul McBride QC, Trish Godman MP and Neil Lennon were all sent bomb devices through the medium of mail. All suspected the bombs to be viable. The "daft" men who sent these devices thought they were viable yet the courts have made a deal to reduce the charge to assault?

Can I ask, who did they assault?

The "daft" men researched what would be required, took time from there pointless lives to shop for the required items and dug around to find out where Paul McBride QC, Trish Godman MP and Neil Lennon resided or worked. To me that sounds like considerable effort yet the QCs defense say it as thou it was a 5 minute thought and act.

NO! This was a premeditated act carried out by two men who knew what their actions were and what they were trying to achieve.

Would I be let off with armed robbery if I had an imitation gun? No, why? Because the people that are being robbed do not know it is an imitation gun, the same way the above did not know it was not viable bomb devices.

Scotland's justice system is a farce! You Mr. Salmond were quick off the blocks to slam actions of the Old Firm, were quick to state how an institution such as Rangers should not be allowed to go out of business and quick to state the sign of the cross is offensive.

You are offensive to my vision and ears.

The SNP are what the name suggests, Scottish National Protestants.

Never will a Catholic, Muslim or otherwise receive fairness from the establishment that currently exists.

Neil Lennon, is a Northern Irish catholic, who manages the team he loves with passion and love. He is abused and vilified for this reason only. He does NOT bring it upon himself. If you seen injustice would you speak out? Mr. Lennon does, every time! Perhaps you wouldn’t going on recent events.

A final thought, if a bomb were to be sent to the Queen or even yourself Mr. Salmond in the same way it has Neil Lennon would the perpetrator be given a deal for assault or do you think the book would be thrown at them? I know it would be the latter and you as a Scottish spokesperson and leader should be condemning this act, you should condemn the judge and the QC's who orchestrated this!

Hi Ed , my take on the Old Firm game on Sunday is this , Celtic were never going to be allowed to win the match , because they would have won the league ! the potential for trouble was too great to allow it to happen , i dont know if Calum Murray had this in mind , or was instructed to ensure it didnt happen , going on his performance , this can simply be put down to a "Bad day at the office" it was far too blatantly inconsistant for that , i would have much preferred Motherwell to have beaten Kilmarnock on Saturday , it would have taken the media frenzy out of the situation , and led to a better game , the league is in the bag , waiting another week would not have killed us , now as a result we have two players suspended and our manager facing a long ban , its time to face facts , in Scotland , Celtic are tolerated because we are needed to subsidise the other clubs , we are loathed by most of these clubs , its a total joke . Drewzybhoy . {Ed007's Note - Good evening Drewzy.}

Believable17 Unbelievable17

Scratching my head at this post Drew. We didn't win on Sunday because we played absolutely crap and showed only a fraction of the hunger and desire the rangers players did. The ref had a shocker but as a level headed person I refuse to believe that the SFA or the ref set out to cheat us. Tbh I'm pretty fed up of all the conspiracy chat, it's embarrassing. Take defeat on the chin and move on. Champs in no time :)
Kevbhoy {Ed007's Note - You're like me Kev, I don't buy into the conspiracy theories. I blame the standard of referees, not some hidden agenda.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold on drewbhoy , we wernt allowed to win on sunday ! no chance bud we were pi55 poor , couldnt handle front two , and never really got started just my opinion mate tbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Kevbhoy and tbhoy , i never said that we never won the game ONLY because of the referee , i agree 100% that we didnt deserve to win the game , for the second week in a row we failed to show up and like last week the better team won the game , i dont have a problem with that lads , i think that given the circumstances surrounding the game , that for reasons of safety and the great likelihood of trouble during and after the game it was better for Celtic not to win , i'm not putting forward a conspiracy theory , its just my opinion , but dont be nieve lads if Celtic were winning there would have been a lot of trouble , probably inside the stadium , Wanyama's red card was justified , but if Whittaker had fouled Samaras the way Cha did with Wallace i doubt Whittaker would have been sent off , that killed the game , Bocanegra's red was very soft also , but with 2 minutes to go it was a token calculated "gesture " to appease us , it nearly backfired on him , thus the whistle was blown earlier than it should have been , his overall performance was shocking and should not be put down to "A bad day at the office" , i dont know what Neil Lennon said to Murray at half time , but whether he is innocent or guilty he WILL be banned by the SFA who will close ranks no matter what , i was offered a ticket for the game but turned it down because i had a bad feeling about it . Drewzybhoy .

I wonder if any MSP will come out and say what a disgrace this latest plea in lenny's court case is? So in two cases,so far,a man runs to Mr Lennons place of work and assaults him shouting a sectarian slur,MILLIONS witness this and there are plenty reliable witness statements,NOT A SECTARIAN ATTACK.Now three half wits have an attempted murder charge dropped to an assault, the defence being they didnt expect it to work! Again the sectarian aspect is ruled out,why? what was the point of this stupid law if no one ever gets charged?Lets show lenny how much we are behind him,starting on sunday...........green jhedi

When is terrorism terrorism? Is it when Irish republicans take up the arms against their oppressors? Or is it when the Afghan's take up arms against the illegal occupiers of their land? Or is it when the Iraqi's take up arms against the illegal occupiers and oppressors of their land? I firmly believe that these two muppets have commited an act of terrorism against Neil Lennon to try to intimidate him into leaving the country. I for one hope that he can find more of the same inner strength that he has already shown and remain as Celtic manager but who could possibly blame him if he chose to get out of this bigoted little country(after winning the league of course). Dictionary.com meaning of Terrorism - the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes. Enough said,cowardly scumbags.
RabBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

An absolute disgrace and blame lies firmly at the door of the Procurator Fiscal. Taking the last assualt case (Hearts thug) and now this exremely serious act of terrorism in the name of religion then the case put up by Fiscal was and is lamenatble, half hearted and playing right into the hands of these bigoted and dangerous thugs who on a daily basis spread their vile sectarian hatred. The deriliction of the murder charge should give all decent minded people in this country cause for alarm, more so, if you happen to be a Hoops minded member of society or god forbid a Catholic, Celtic Manager. I cant help but think if Paul McBride, a victim of this hatred, were still alive that the murder charges would have been so readily dropped. Something really rotten about this sad little country and it's political and other establishment leaders to allow this to happen.

{Ed007's Note - CFC goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has signed a new three year contract at the club.}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Excellent news

TerribleBeauty

Agree0 Disagree0

Here's what he said,says all the right things.

Celtic goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has signed a new three-year deal at the club.

The Polish shot-stopper, who joined the Bhoys from Dundee United in 2009, has moved to end speculation over his future by agreeing to extend his stay at Parkhead until 2015.

The 29-year-old has found himself playing back-up to Fraser Forster for the last two seasons, but insists he is happy to stay at Celtic.

"I have become a Celtic supporter, I love this club and I feel so good here," Zaluska told Celtic View.

"Of course I'm not happy being number two, I want to be playing all the time, but Scotland is my second home now.
Trophies

"You play football to win trophies and Celtic is a great place to be if you want to do that. That's why I decided to stay here.

"Sometimes players play in the Premier League for 10 years and never win anything. At Celtic we have the chance to play in Europe every year.

"When my friends came to visit me for the first time they experienced the atmosphere inside the stadium and realised how big a club it is. I'm really proud to be a part of this team.

"I played for a few clubs in Poland and you can not compare them to Celtic. Even Dundee United, it's a nice club but it is quite small - everyone in the world knows about Celtic.

"There is a great training ground, great stadium, great supporters, the lads in the team are really friendly and I enjoy every single day at this club.

"It has probably been the best few years of my football career. I'm coming to the best years for a goalkeeper and I want to give them to Celtic."

Agree0 Disagree0

Always been a fan of the big pole, think he is a superior stopper to Forster and the fact he hasn't had much of a chance has been criminal. hope in the coming weeks he gets to show the reasons we brought him from Dundee united.

A better shot stopper than Forster - not a chance mate. Big Fraser takes a bit of stick occasionally but not much lately obviously for not commanding his box but as for shot stopping the big man's first class

2) then this whole carry on in court today
what ya think ed
FozzY csc {Ed007's Note - Like I said on another thread Fozzy I don't think he will walk away, purely because it would mean the bigots have won and drove him out of a job he loves and him and his family out of their home and settled life. Nobody could blame him if he did though.}

the scottish justice system is a joke

FozzY CSC {Ed007's Note - It's a scandalous situation and is another embarrassment for the government. The buck stops there, they need to get the legal system up to scratch, there are too many questionable decisions over the years.}

Comments like that... Biased against celtic. You honestly believe that the justice system in our country is biased against everything celtic? Personally i think our system is just really poor where prisoners and criminals plead human rights and get what they please! But paranoia like yours is worrying mate!

Just heard on Radio that the bomb plot pair have had their charge dropped to Assault. This is a total disgrace and makes an absolute mockery of our "justice" system in Scotland. The quote by defence QC, Gordon Jackson in the DR says "How could it be thought that the people sending these packages could ever, ever, ever have believed they would go off?
"These are grown men, people who hold down jobs. It
is impossible"
These are the same grown men who were intelligent enough to investigate how to make the devices, purchase the goods and then send them to their targets.
Firstly they let off the clown who assualted Lennon at the Hearts game, then this. It won't be the media, Celtic or Rangers fans that will drive Lenny out of Scotland, it will be the establishments that fail constantly to support this man who is targeted just for being Celtic Manager. The whole thing stinks!!

Believable21 Unbelievable6

It certainly does. Then again Scotland is a very bigoted country. Football is more than just football in this wee principality and i'd stick my neck out as to suspect that there are people in high places in Scotland who also have an irrational hatred for Neil Lennon. Simple as that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also, losing the Cha appeal is another little joke. {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't say it is in the same league as the court case.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Does it surprise you? After all, look at the folk representing them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm open minded about conspiricy theories until the evidence is presented to support them. Manager attacked at Tyncastle, bombs sent in post and all charges are reduced? I think this whole situation should be taken out of Scotland where there is potential for (shall we say) bias and presented to the House of Lords where there is a chance it will be assessed on evidence presented and nothing else.

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems you only get found guilty if your irish catholic or muslim the most vile wee country in the world and I wish Mr Salmon would show some b*lls as it's his government who do nothing about this but he has plenty to say about Rangers going out of business but you can assault and send bombs to high profile catholics that's ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does this mean its carte-blanche to send potential explosive devices through the mail? Taking the potential effect on the targets aside, these people were totally indifferent to the (male & female) people of the post office who may have been exposed to these devices before they were identified. Maybe the defence can arrange for a personal apology and compensation from NL etc. for harassing their clients in the first place!

Agree0 Disagree0

Now then re. Alax S. This is the same group of chancers who sent the Lockerbie bomber back (regardless of any opinions etc. he was found guilty in a court of law) to spend his last remaining weeks in Libya (an opportunity denied the passengers on a well recorded flight). So what do you expect!

Agree0 Disagree0

Scotland is not a principality.

TRP.

Agree0 Disagree0

This country stinks

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr Lennon could pursue a civil case against these bigots and sectarian thugs. I would not blame him for walking away and I would not blame in fact I would encourage CFC to seek different opportunities. {Ed007's Note - I doubt NL would walk away, if he done that then the bigots would have won.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No wonder we are labelled as paranoid. The people in power and authority have 2 different sets of rules and regulations that govern and judge us our whole life.
This bitter wee country will never prosper or be independant as long as narrow minded bigots ensure we are not all equal.
Whether it's jobs, journalism or justice.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

If I were a person or body corporate looking to invest in Europe, maybe opening a factory, "I would walk ten thousand miles and I would walk ten thousand more" from Scotland.

What kind of a message does this send to a civilised world.

Bad Bhoy.

ps It only reaffirms what we already know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pleas and charges are wrongly dropped in cases, going from murder to manslaughter because its not always possible to get charges. While the justic system is flawed, a conviction is better than no conviction! {Ed007's Note - I've never heard of anyone assaulted with a bomb before., it stinks of incompetence.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree ed, our justice system is shocking, all involved should be given stiff sentences. But theres not much alex salmond can do!

Agree0 Disagree0

What has been coming across throughout all of this is that religious bigotry is institutionalised in scotland. but wait, is that a surprise ? for a long time in the uk it was the law. not so long ago catholics were banned by law from attending university there have been other letter bombs sent and people put on trial. i'm sure the results of these trials will come to light. also lets not forget that 2 men were jailed for 4 years for jokingly attempting to organise a riot which didnt happen, on facebook.
