What I'd give for lubo in this team ;( really hope we sign a creative mid in January. No chance of this happening but riquelme is on a free

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Kaka would be nice to get with our cl money, he would fit in nicely where this dream would finish with winning cl.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every transfer window riquelme gets brought up its not gonna happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't commons and kayal creative midfielders? And Forrest? And paddy McCourt? {Ed007's Note - Kayal is a more suited to playing as a holding CM or a DM. The other three are wingers.}

I think that Ambrose is a creative player and will do well in the SPL, but when he has the ball am I the only one who thinks "Oh God, what's he going to try now?".
He's gonna give me a heart attack if Izzy doesn't first.

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks dodgy with the ball at his feet as for izzy he is been rank rotten for weeks now.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm surprised its taken so long for somebody to realise he's a bit of a bombscare! Or maybe not, but all u see on here is he's immense! The guys pretty good and that's about it, not because we got beat today, even in the games we've dominated and won he can be a bit of a mare!
Surprised he's not scored an OG or 2 or caused more probs for defence/team. But hes also young and been thrown in to not the best defence anyway, wee bit longer and hell be fine, sounds like a contradiction but that's just how "HE" is.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree with big bad john mention somethin on here about ambrose not being as good as people think and all the if its not broke dont fix it talk comes out, dont think ive seen him winning a header defensively from corners and everytime he dies get his head on the ball he gives away a set peice

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a bobo type ball winner, dominant centre half,

Ska bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ambrose has some good talent, I mean how many ppl did he run by in the game? Like the while team on one run and how many times dose he run it out from our box to theres? his only problem is when he gets close to the players he dosent have the confidence to take them on to pass them. Instead he usually passes it away or gives it up, it is a bit nervy but at times he looks great to. Just like our other young players first year with us he needs more time and work to have the end product on his runs, what till next year. C-Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Bobo was overrated. Unpredictable in the tackle and his use of the ball was absolutely shocking. Good in the air though. Ambrose can obviously play a bit. He will learn to defend better. I'm sure will prove to be a great signing..................kbt1978

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats what we need mate, the old scottish "punt it and run" still is sooo outdated it's unreal. we need to start bringing in and more importantly developing footballers who can play it out from the back. players with composure somthing our game has been missing.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think yous are talking utter bull, name a better young defender at 1M we could have signed our whole defence has cost us around 1.5M/1.7M for 7 defenders
Izzy 500/600k
Mulgrew 0
Rogne 10k
Mathews 0
Lustig 0
Wilson 0
Ambrose 1M, ..kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I was a fan of Bobo, he wasn`t a centre back who could run and pass right enough, it was his physical presence which made him the cult hero he was for a while, as for Ambrose, i`ve seen a lot worse, his choice of passes baffles me, he tries to run with the ball when he should just move it on, but i think he is a pretty steady player, and i agree with the above post about Izzy, hasn`t been on his game for a long time, havent seen him run up the wing and play quality crosses like he did last year on counter attacks, maybe im being hard on him i don`t know, but Lanny already said he was looking for an established LB to give him competition. And to the above post i totally agree, for what the team cost and to have some of the players we have shows how well John Park is doing his job, and i hope he has a few more gems in the pipeline, happy new year all, Keir

Well that's gotta be one of the strangest games i have ever seen. For the first 15 minutes we were very sloppy, i thought Hibs might have been 2-3 ahead, then tightened up and controlled the next 75 minutes. For me the big problem was we had too many passengers. At the goal i blame Rogne, he should have taken charge, went to meet the pass and hit row z.Did Forster give him a shout? That's the only way he cannot be blamed.Another worry is the fact that Izzy is just not the same player he was, nowhere near.Since his injury he has had plenty time to get back but there is a problem there somewhere.Even big Vic was pretty poor by the high standards he has set, Hooper and Samaras equally hardly got a kick.Sammi in particular i think is getting an easy ride because of his euro goals, but when you actually look back at the games i dont know why.But the big problem was the final ball, we should have, at least, worked the keeper but he had one save! one thing is for sure we need a big performance v Motherwell because today was a huge let down......green jhedi

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Big Sammy has been fantastic this year, even without his Euro goals. We lost 1 -0 to Hibs. We will lose 1-0 to Hibs in the future. No big deal.

Joeshmo1888

Agree1 Disagree0

We were crying out for some creativity, some real width. McCourt is not the answer, I feel when Forrest doesn't play we have no one taking the game to the opposition in a direct manner. Said this all season.we've had brown, samaras, ledley, Charlie and even izaguirre playing in the wide midfield positions at done stage.

We need a proper wide player brought in I feel as we need to be creating more chances than we do. I also feel it is unfair to look to Forrest, when fit of course, all the time for a spark given his age. I feel this same problem hindered mcgeady at us when he was just learning the game too.

How ambrose missed from under the bar ill never know but other than that I feel we offered nothing to merit three points. We never contributed enough football to the game to warrant victory and can have no real complaints that we've been beaten.

The entire midfield were rotten today, poor touches and passes amiss all to evident. A really big off day for many of them, it's bad luck for so many to be off it at the same time. Can't legislate for it.

Jamie mac(hopefully Motherwell get it worse now)

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched it on bagpipes TV and their goal was a poor one to lose.

We need some creativity to break down the tight defensive play we are up against. I think an early goal and at the other team from the off, don't let them get settled. Look last week when we came out after half time against Ross County broke them down right away and they were all over the place.

Paddy must be in the shop window, no other explanation. Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

To Green Jhedi's OP, I never seen the game but did listen in on the commentary - anyway, my post is about your comment on Izaguirre's lack of form:
I have long thought that his best performances were with Joe Ledley in front of him (doing what Ledley does best) - grafting and covering while Izzy went attacking down the left wing.
Big Sammy only got starting a run of games from wide left when Izzy got injured. When Izzy AND Sammy are on the pitch at the same time it often appears that Izzy checks inside (unnaturally) as Sammy is out left where he naturally wants to go. The amount of times we get exposed at left back through him being caught in or around the centre-circle is to obvious (for me) to be coincidence.
Like I say, I never seen the game but it would be interesting to hear any other views. Cheers.................kbt1978

Agree1 Disagree0

@kbt1978; Excellent point and spot on for me.I think we really do miss Ledley's work rate, why i would have had Kayal in my team yesterday, But surely the coaching staff must also see this flaw? Dont they tell him to limit his bombing forward?.........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree1

Its a bit of strange one - but asking Izzy NOT to play his natural game is a travesty IMO. That's we he WAS so exciting.
Its also ironic for me, that in order to get the best out of Sammy, the correct balance of the side had to be found to accommodate HIM out left - unfortunately now Izzy is back, he is the one having to adapt, and change his game slightly.
Perhaps this conundrum is the reason for the experiments with 3-5-2 / 3-4-3?
It would be interesting to see how we would line up with Stokes fit - but that's another issue yet again.
Ps Always good to realise other fans spot the same things as you - hopefully Neil Lennon will reply to my tweets now! lol.............kbt1978

poor from hoops today ..just one of those games i suppose... i will tell you what though at 150 grand i would take lee griffiths in a heart beat S trong , pace runs channels in behind well and is prolific week in week out!Chalky Bhoy

150k for griffiths? see if gary hooper's being rated at 10+ million, your lucky if griffiths is available for 2 million...

I'd take him too, wolves want him punted

Lets be honest griffiths is no better than average and would never get a game for us, i would rather see young watt getting more game time than sign griffiths

I've been saying all season we have missed Stokes, the fact we are talking about him shows how important he is to the team and that Miku and Lassad are not good enough to play for us. Hoops and Stokesy up front equals goals, that is a fact.

Agree1 Disagree0

I have been saying for a few months now on this site we should sign leigh griffiths and people just give me stick about it, i think he is a great player for the spl. (and champions lge one day)

Get a grip lads he's another Deek Riordan.....Stevie....P.S i keep telling you it's those feckin black socks!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Griffiths is a consistent scorer anytime he's been played. His attitude stinks though and we are probably better off without him

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with BB. I also suggested this signing a couple of weeks ago and was shot down in flames. The fact he's left sided also helps. Hibs hoping to sign him for 250, 000. Maybe a bit of the devil in him but I'm sure that would improve under Lenny. I do get the comparison with Riorden but he possibly was denied a fair run in the team and dont remember him causing big trouble in the dressing room or on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

What will stop Geiffiths being signed is his disciplinary record and off-the-field lifestyle. I agree that he is another Riordan; however, Riordan had it all to make it at Celtic when he first signed.

Well done Hibs today, deserved the win.

Celtic very poor performance today, I know alot of people on here will disagree, but be honest we could have been beaten by 2 or 3 if Hibs finishing was better.

Some of our players need a wake up call, Sammy and a few others had a touch like a baby elephant.

We should be beating the likes of Hibs by 2 or 3.

The problem today was quite clear even the boss knew this a couple of games ago when he said what we would buy would be wide left to put pressure on issy we lack width samy chris and lassad all cut in when on the ball we are missing forrest and have no other out and out wingers pace and skill to attack full backs would create more goals who we get is anyones guess mackay-stevens downing to name two possibles but maybe john park has another gem to suggest

any 1 tell me why samaras has been kept on the park ? hes been absolutely atroious his touch his passes everyhin has been off yet he stays on would rather see yng mcgeouch gettin a run out

gunniebhoy

Believable12 Unbelievable11

Doesn't take the Sammy bashers long to surface ... The 2 'Superstars' weren't 2 interested today ... Would have had Wanyama off early and Hooper off instead of Lassad , whom I though put in a decent shift ...Ambrose had a decent game also ...

Agree1 Disagree0

Who said i was a sammy basher ya clown leave a name or bolt 2 ur own page a said he was atrocious the day and deserved 2 be took off did a mention his other performances ? naw so shut the fk up

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes samaras has had a decent year but when he lapses into his cant be arsed style of play he doesnt contribute anything but facial expressions and so deserves criticism , , , , deep riverbhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Totally agree deep riverbhoy cant fault the guy this season especially away from home in europe hes been amazng a goal in every away game but the day he was shocking and deserved 2 be hooked off for watt or mcgeouch he constantly went on the daft stupid runs and got the ball took off him everytime then just stands ther hands in his head confused. A was just p1ssed off coz what kinda message does that send out 2 the yng guys on the bench that sammy can lounge about a game like that the day n be kept on wen they yng guys wil come on run ther socks off for the team yet mcgeouch gets 3 mins and watt doesnt get on at all.

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The name TTTS forgot to post it ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Wel fair enuf but am hardly a sammy basher mate am just saying he hud a rubbish game n deserved 2 be took off but on here if u critiise embdy u get slaughtered for it imo he should hav been took off after 60 mins n watt should hav been put on a hardly slated or bashed the guy just said his performance yesterday wasnt good enough 2 merit stayin on

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He was one of many yesterday Gunnie ... TTTS

He has off days but lets face it, if it wasn't for him we woudn't be looking forward to the last 16 of the champions league right now.

Maybe a couple of games on the bench to freshing up Wanyama ... Has been of the boil a bit in recent games ...Kayal has been more noticable , surprised he didnt start ahead of Wanyama today ... TTTS

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Kayal has been finding his legs, but still cannot put a ball on net and I don't expect him to. We are missing Commons' range right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Commons would have given them an advantage indeed ...TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

I think too many had an off day today, would have liked to see mcgeouch on earlier and watt on for sammi after about 65 min big man looked tired (was probably due an off day) well done to hibs got tactics right I like fenlon alot (probably coz he reminds me of MON). seen people suggest we go for griffiths but dont think he is any better than what we have so dont need another riorden.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it really Kayals job to score goals? Why he was dropped today I'll never know but unless it was through injury then the gaffer has made an arse of it in my opinion

If Hooper goes , anyone think that Danny Graham from Swansea could do a job ? Maybe not technically as good as Hoops but seems to be able to finish with both head and feet.

Now , I know he doesn't get a game for Swansea , but that's only because Michu is having a great time.

Just a laugh but do you think there could be a communication error in our striking scouting. We signed Miku and Mo Bangoura instead of Michu and the other goal scoring Bangoura.

I've thought of him as a great player for last few years, i would love him at CP.Fee and wages could be a problem though.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever happens with Hooper, I think we must bring in a decent striker asap.
We have definitely not scored enough goals; even when (as expected) we dominate the vast majority of SPL games.
There is a sharp contrast between last season when I expected us to win games with goals to spare and this when we rarely kill teams off early and huff and puff Yes we are missing Stokes/Commons
but Miku, Lassad, and Bangoura are not up to it. Sammy gives us plenty - but has never been a 20+ goals man and Tony Watt is still learning his trade.
Maybe if we had better wing play and quality of crosses it would improve but I reckon we are still not at our peak for some reason.

Jungle Jim

Agree1 Disagree0

Remember him being at the boro, he'd be an even better player if he'd got more game time, but he was behind yakubu, viduka, hasslebaink, maccarone and nemeth at the time so he was up against it really. think he'd do well for us but i don't think he's in the same class as hooper. kevslug.

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny Graham would score goals for any team, class written all over him. I remember Malky McKay was his manager and a story he was given to the newspapers virtually telling Celtic this was there man for £2m. Think it was Mowbray's era.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent natural penalty box striker. Don't know his age but would score for fun in this league. Great movement. {Ed007's Note - Danny Graham is 27.}
