I really think Miku will be a hit with us, I know some people will disagree but he looks like the striker we've missed big style, I think he,ll start tomorrows game and I really hope he gets more chances.
I also think efe Ambrose is a direct replacement for victor wanyama. God I hope wanyama stays here and signs an improved contract but efe is made for everything wanyama has already established. The guy is quality and when he dies go(hopefully in a year or 2) efe will move into midfield and we,ll sign another top drawer centre half from the scouting department
Would also like to know that... If
Miku impresses and we have the option to buy him, how much is it? {Ed007's Note - During the summer Swansea bid £5 million, Trabzonspor bid 4 Million Euros and Reading made an undisclosed bid, all three offers were rejected. Getafe rate the player at 8 -10 million Euros but might sell for £6 million if he is definitely surplus to requirements.}

UEFA Official Website shows possession at Barca v Celtic was 74% / 26%.

Some great info here:

Yeah where did all this 90% champions league thing come from

Celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree0

You only need one guess at that mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it annoying yous haha, all this talk we have earned respect and made new friends lol, by doing what exactly?

p.s. it was 90%/10% barcelona

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 so a website, UEFA and even Barcelona themselves have the stats wrong and sevco are right? just you focuses on getting that elusive first away league win.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye nae bother daft arse. Why don't you go over onto the official UEFA website and check 74% Barcelona 26% Celtic. Your lies stink of obsession... aye like your always claiming we are.

Facts are facts wingnut, if your lot would have been more interested in them a year ago your club wouldn't have died.

Barcelona 2-1 Celtic

Last minute goal! Gutted!

BUT!

Disappointment is temporary, Liquidation is permanent lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Sevconion poster above-its not annoying anyone but the fact celtic fans have never been enjoying life more is clearly annoying you...why else would you bother posting on your rivals forum. youre disguise as a celtic fan is pathetic lol how does it feel to lose to east stirling or west stirling or who ever they are, i dont pay too much attention because im enjoying being a celt at this time!

Celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree0

Took barcelona 93 mins to grab the winner against celtic.

took stirling 8 mins to get the winner against you'se.

id rather jordi alba score against us than bbc alba.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only stat that is of any interest to me is that we are top of the SPL and that puts us 30 places in front of the team at the top of Div 3

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical sevco fans, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. Any news about the adidas deal or the share issue or where the RFFF money went? Green is certainly doing well earning his wages from Whyte so far. ALL of Glasgow is Green and White these days. one half is holding their own in the champions league and the other Green and Whyte are providing the comedy by liquidating Rangers and The Rangers, all the while doing what they have done best, bringing shame on Scotland. 2 clubs joined by one vile thing, being Scotland's Shame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate, Rangers and Sevco, Scotlands Shame Then, Scotlands Shame Now, Scotlands Shame Forever. They have a cheek to slag ANY team ever again. Unless they pay back every penny of their debts Scotland and fans from EVERY other club should never ever let them forget what they have done. And just wait until the whole story is out.

i see lenny has said big vic is worth £25m and confirms he has refused an improved contract. The sad thing is he is prob worth that and if he was playing in a bigger league thats what he would go for but it looks certain he will prob leave in the summer...i'd say we will accept around £10m which is a great profit but he is still worth far more!

Celticthomas

Believable7 Unbelievable10

He is worth every penny of the 25 mil... am fed up with megarich english clubs coming up here and undervalueing our players; look how much liverpool paid for that clown carroll -- the guy is class, too good for scottish footie but worth every penny of a 25 mil bid HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic making the same mistake as Liam Miller? jim the tim....hh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well blow me over, a name that i aalmost forgot liam miller
the guy just chased what every irish boy who grew up a midfielder would do and go be like roy keane

wanyama i reckon we can get 12-14 hope he isnt another 10 mil cheerio

Bite your hand off for £5-6m after all its the spl not the glitz and glamour of the english money premier league

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama probably is worth at least £15 million & that's whist at Celtic!The Bhoy will be world class though i personally believe if he goes down South to soon it could back fire!If these Agents showed more interest in the player as a whole surely they would want him to benefit more by becoming an even better player through the experience he is gaining being with a very good & young squad at Celtic park!In 2-3 years time this guy along with his team shall be worth a lot lot more!

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that we are in a good financial standing and having Lennon I think we are now going to get more value for our players and stick to what we believe they are worth and will not move on our stands. Lennon is truley turning the club around to have more respect and get what players are worth, so say goodbye to the 10mill max transfer fee. I really hope that the board backs Lennon on everything he wants,to some extent with things, because he has proving he knows what he is talking about and would always do/get the best for Celtic. Pl and the board stand by Lennon and demand top dollar for our players! Times have changed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fed up hearing that because its SPL we shld under value. Players from lesser or similar leagues such as holland, Belgium,Portugal to name but a few go for astronomical fees. These leagues bring in similar sponsor money, have 2 teams generally challenging for league etc. the boy fellani went for £15m few years back well b 4 he became player he is now. If wanyama doesn't want a pay increase then keep playing him until the fee we want comes in. He's under contract till 2015 so even keeping him for another 18mths will still see us net min £10m. Continual playing time inc Europe will only keep inc value. Stevo dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

Suppose it depends really. I think celtic could get 10m for him. If he had joined a less well know team, with less exposure to the epl clubs, he could have been getting picked up for bout 4/5m just now. He aint worth 25m tho. Thats more than van persie, song, etc. Get some perspective here. {Ed007's Note - Just like the players leaving the fantastic Belgian League for over £15/20 million... Everton paid £15 million to Standard Liege for Marouane Fellaini in 2008. Axel Witsel was sold by Benfica to Zenit St Petersburg for 40 million Euros this summer, yet Zenit only offered (and had accepted) a 27.5 million Euros bid for Nani at Man Utd, the player's wage demands were too high, scuppering any deal. Tax is also payable on all transfer fees.
Fees being agreed by clubs is the easy part of any transfer and is basically that a club will pay what they think a player is worth.
Do people think that guys sitting playing the latest edition of FIFA set these prices that are bandied about, if there is talk of a player moving you can guarantee that there are agents for both clubs and the player leaking figures left, right and centre.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Notice the different wording in lennons statement than the media ... lennon says he turn down improved contract media say extension his current contract expires 2015 the new one would expire 2016 one more year which is standard for improved terms ( you need to give the club something ) celtic have no obligation to give him better terms but they did we didnt ask him to stay for life just one more year in return for 4 year on better terms so if he doesnt want to be here then good riddance thats just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Your bang on there bud, so true. I was just saying that to my wee bro there, fact : defo worth attest 20m! No fkn doubt

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read that Porto have included a £38 million release clause in 21 year old winger James Rodriguez's (who??) contract because Man Utd are rumoured to be interested... I think that Porto et al have to be the template we follow when it comes to moving players on!

We need to be ambitious with our valuations instead of grateful for the (relative) pittance that English clubs offer for our stars!

Agree0 Disagree0

To Ed007's comment above, both the belgian players you mention have the attributes of wanyama plus far greater technical ability, a reason why they should cost more to buy. If you think wanyama is worth more/better than Fellaini you are dreaming.

Like I said, 10m for a player who cost 1m 18 months ago is great business. Hats off to Celtic for signing him. But to start saying he's worth 15m, 20m, 25m is silly, he is coming from the SPL with a couple good euro performances under his belt. {Ed007's Note - Where did I compare Wanyama's ability with anyone else's? You are saying that a player with less exposure than Wanyama would cost £4/5 million, how much exposure does the Belgian League get? What I said was is a player is worth what a club will pay for them. I assume you watched a lot of Fellaini at Liege before he joined Everton?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007
No, i didnt see fellaini or witsel much at liege, but im sure they were winning a euro league or there abouts, with some euro football too. A lot more exposure at the top of that league than wanyamas team probably got. {Ed007's Note - So how can you compare their ability with Wanyama's at that age? It was you that made comparisons of players not me. If an Everton or Aston Villa had paid say £10 million for Wanyama last summer it would be getting looked at as a bargain and he would be valued at least at £25 million just now, easily. Just because he is playing in the SPL (and winning leagues just like you are sure Fellaini and Witsel were, they couldn't both have been, they played with different teams btw) he can't be worth over £10 million? Scotland were 6 places above Belgium in the co-efficient that were used for calculating Euro 2012 placings in November 2011. How much was McGeady worth, Alan Hutton or Craig Gordon? They were worth exactly the fee that the buying clubs were willing to pay. You can't compare Wanyama's price to RVP, that is just ridiculous, if RVP had 3/4 years to go on his deal he would have cost a lot more to buy, he either signed an extension at Arsenal or could leave for a free next summer, all those things need to be taken into consideration.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ul find both fellaini n witsel did play for the same team, btw. U compared wanyama to them not me. I can see your point with rvp, but he was just an example of a transfer this summer. Im sure there were plenty of players better than wanyama who went for less than the quoted figure for him. U said hes worth what a club will pay. True. No club has said what hes worth, only celtic and their fans who have based this on a decent season n a half, and a couple good champ league games. He isnt a standout player, imho if hes worth 25m then joe ledley is worth 40m. See what im getting at? It was 8m, then 10m then 15m now 25m. Based on what exactly? {Ed007's Note - You have said what he is worth, or rather what he isn't, What exactly is that based on? I never compared Wanyama to any player ability wise, that was you again I mentioned fees for players of a similar age and from a similar standing of league. How can you say Ledley is worth £40 million? Again you are the one that is throwing numbers about and placing values on players, at no point in any post have I assumed any prices for any player, you are assuming quite a lot trying to prove a point and failing miserably. Where did you pull the £8, £10 and £15 million figures from regarding Wanyama? More assumption on your part it looks like.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007
I havent assumed anything. Those figures i mentioned about wanyama have been quoted by celtic fans, the press and then finally neil lennon over his career at celtic.

I mentioned fellaini and witsels technical ability as reasons why they would possibly cost more, as they both have the attributes wanyama has plus this, if we are basing it on said wanyamas price tag.

I said 40m for ledley as i rate his contribution to celtic and football more than wanyama. Mainly, it was to show how ludicrous this original pricetag figure is.

I based my valuation (10m) on a player having played spl football, couple champ league games in a year and a half. Nothing to really write home about, never mind spend 25m on.

Like I mentioned before, and seen in todays paper, players like cazorla, silva, toure and mata have went for less than what wanyama is being touted by your manager and fans. This shows how ridiculous it is.

You can say im assuming and failing all you want if that makes you feel better, doesnt make a diference to the points iv made.

Hi fellow bhoys and ghirls, live down south now and only get up occasionally, just wondering if there will be public sale of Spartak tickets or if anyone has 2 tickets but can't make the game. Here's hoping!

There was some available on the clubs website this morning, section 118 I think. It's where the away fans normally sit

Can not believe we have found another awesome youngster in Ambrose.

Celtic scouts are on fire

Agree0 Disagree1

Ambrose is our best, that guy is class. if we turned down £8m from qpr for vic then ambrose is £15m

Agree0 Disagree0

Ambrose looks like a great signing, Him and wilson the CB pair for the rest of the season?

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as i like kelv. id rather it was mulgrew ambrose as the centre pairing and izzy left
i want the few decent scots we have to be playing all the time
at least 3 per game
mulgrew, broony jimmy forrest and kristopher kros commons are all great players in my eyes with young watt aswell who should be featuring for us every week

Looking forward to the weekend, hope to see Hooper rested along with Samaras after his injury. I'd like to see young Tony Watt lining up with Miku to see if they can get a little partnership going. I think it would be wise to try a few different combinations incase of injury or suspension in the lead up to the next 3 CL games. I'd also love to see more time given to Twardzik and even Jackson Irvine off the bench. It's really important we try to rotate now, as we have potentially 8 games to play in December alone (weather permitting).

I think miku might get the call in the next barca game if Sammy is still hurt as he has faced them before and is tall, so we might just see a lot more of miku to get him gelling more.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be surprised if he doesn't feature tomorrow, hopefully from the start, and given Sammi is touch and go for Barca return I reckon he'll play then too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Miku might have started in Barcelona, as he has played against the top Spanish teams on a regular basis. He also looks very good at holding the ball up and this was something that was missing on Tuesday night.

Agree0 Disagree0

How serious is sammy {Ed007's Note - Not too serious, he will miss this weekend's match against Kilmarnock but he should be fine after that.}
