On the subject of new rb if we can't get the lad from Chelsea maybe use janko as a makeweight for cyrus Christie. Been impressed with what I've saw of him but it being England he could have a crazy valuation slapped on him.

I liked him when he was at Swansea Jim, - he reminded me of Hooper, only he's taller. He passes it into the net, he's quite good technically/ composed. I don't have a clue what he's like these days, to be fair though he's a huge Newcastle fan and I think he struggled big time at Sunderland partly because of that, maybe it shows he's not great when the pressure's on. I like the other lad we've been linked with, - Tom Carroll. He was very highly rated as a kid, quite similar to Joe Allen, so maybe that's what Brendan Rodgers is thinking. He's better deeper, so he's not another no 10. I think he's also a Bosman. I think we need to clear the midfield, I'd give Commons a free, and if we could get money for Biton, Johansen then great. I also saw Arsenal linked with a £7 million bid for Rogic, that would be ideal because we need to let the manager build his own team. We need 2 strikers though, we have no options at all up there.

Cmac71 it used to be like that for every player either team wanted to sign. The next day there would be a huge "exclusive" that the other wanted him and they'd use their trusty "Old Firm Tug of War" patter haha.

What for £7 million? He's only got a year left on his contract (Rogic) and has supposedly knocked a new one back! What's the alternative? If he signed a new contract fine, but he's also been injury prone/ had one good season - we can't keep everyone! The manager has got to do his own thing and with the squad being so big there isn't much scope to do anything. Even if we have to bite the bullet and pay of guys like Commons, we don't want any troublemakers hanging around, or guys happy to pick up a wage for nothing.

I wouldn't disagree with anything you said there Delphic, and I think I'd have him over Cole. But too often, and I'm guilty myself, I think we try too hard to find the positives. But that's the position we're put in as fans. We should be aiming for better.

Naw I wouldn't have him go to the dark side, sod's law says he'd do us.

I'd improve the offer and get rid of few more before rogic.
The improvement from him this year has been fantastic and he's still getting better.

Linked with Danny Graham this morning? Who ever has made that rumour up must of been on the drink major last night! I'd rather go with our youth forwards rather than buy another absolute diddy!
