Good shout, not sure if he'd come and what the wages would be but aye, wouldn't be upset if he came in January.

Has he been playing at a decent level? If not could be another Kapo, juninho, lunjberg . Defo was a good player in his day

Currently at bate borisov. And yeah there is only one Lubo.

Why sign hleb when all he would be doing is possibly a temp fix and giving rogic even less game time! We need our young players playing in the league developing.

Why sign lubo when he was a year older? I agree though would love to see more of our youth Ie rogic, young dylan etc. but fellow supporters keep talking about a creative player wee need Ie hleb. Just a topic point thanks sos.

If we are really being linked with craig bryson, then the board should get to ef if that's the future transfers.

Why would the board get to ef! It's not the board that identify players

He's not the worst player we've been linked with recently and has had some impressive games for derby

You want us to spend what we don't have and go into debt? The Board will not change their policy, so get used to it. {Ed007's Note - Who is mentioning go into debt? Have you seen the latest sets of figures? And that is without the Wanyama and Hooper fees so you can forget the notion we don't have the funds. With another year of CL revenue and those transfer fees to be included I fully expect CFC to release record figures next year. This nonsense fear about going into debt is stifling the development of the team and the club in general.}

Much prefer to bring the kids in, than sign the likes of Bryson.

dont think he's anywhere close to being worse we've been linked with or signed.think he would be a good signing
. one thing that I don't understand is when people say. let's play the kids. I trust our manager enough to think that lf we hd a mcgeady or a forrest we would have seen them by now

Spot on ed I am also sick and tired of hearing this debt malarkey, and following in the footsteps of the great unwashed as soon as someone criticises the board. we missed out big time on Finnbogason, and I Believe that had we signed him we would have 7 points in the CL.

@1 its the board that give the budget for the managment team to work with, bryson obviously falls into that weak budget. We signed commons at 26/27 for 300k and has worked reasonly well, but it shows our standards have slipped when a mediocre championship player is now one of our star men. Now we are linked with an ex killie player who isn't that good, bryson in CL, don't think so.
Agree0

I think Bryson a good player, 1 of the best players in the championship in my opinion but I do agree not the calibre of player we should be looking at with the money we got, but if he signs think he be a good addition only other thing that worries me is he a possible replacement for Ledley & before I get slated I know Bryson no where near as good as Super Joe. To barrybhoy re Finbogson, I just watched him outplayed and out scored by Michael Higdon of ex Motherwell fame, based on his performance tonight we dodged a bullet

Ed, here we go again, every day we seem to be repeating ourselves over budgets/the board/ comparing our business vs a defunct club/ poor signing targets.
Are we really now considering an ex-killie player we could have picked up for £0 about 12-18 months ago. Brilliant, he's playing well for Derby, sign him now, the ambition of our signing policy is in apparent freefall!
It doesn't take much for a large chunk of our support to accept a sub standard product.
On Bryson, who does he dislodge in midfield exactly? what is the point of a successful youth policy if money apparently in short demand (not by the way)?

To Dannybhoy all players have off days, he´s scored 11 goals in 8 league games and 2 goals in 1 cup game, that is not dodging a bullet, imagine what he could do a celtic playing in a better team.

Your right the board give lennon budgets to work in but there's no way Bryson is at the top of the budget, therefor its Lennon or scouts that are identifying him because they think he is good and good value for money.
Haven't seem to much of him but when a have he looks quite good. He was an ex killie player doesn't mean he can't go on to be more Brown was an ex hibee he now plays in the champ league.

Im a derby county fan and craig bryson has been the best midfielder in the championship this season bar none, would fit into the way celtic play easily.

I think everyone is over reacting here, its just a player link. Look at the quality we brought in during summer, all of that is going out the window as easy as that. Everyone take a deep breath.

Fair enough Barry but think he is no better than what we have and is over priced

Its not over reaction but I think we have to nip this level of quality signing in the bud now.
this is not what is needed if we are to be a progressive side.
as for the brown comparison - no words needed!

Danny your entitled to your opinion but I totally disagree as do many on this site, I don't think 5m is over priced, he still has 2 and half years on his contract, we sold hooper for 5.5m with just 1 year left, we wanted 7-8m for hooper when he had 2 years left, finnbogason has a better record than hooper playing for a weaker team in a better league. we did not financially need to sell hooper, and tried to get him signed up on a new contract, so why could we not afford to spend that money on finnbogason?!
Agree0
Disagree0
Tam you keep saying this but never back it up. I can't find anywhere an article stating that finnbogason DID NOT WANT TO COME TO CELTIC, so why don't you PROVE IT and post a link with such an article, otherwise GIVE IT A REST.
Agree0

Barry I am not disputing your thinking but I really do have doubts that he is worth the money I don't think he is any better than Stokes but as you say he is still young enough and may prove me wrong. As for hoops he wanted to go and I think we did ok at 5.5 mill for him

As far as I'm aware finbo did want to come to us, I think the asking price for the las went up as soon as cardiff were interested, and we know pistol pete when it comes to money, his club originally wanted 5mil for him when cardiff expressed and interest it went upto 7-8mil. So we moved on the marko arnautovic (spelling), bid got accepted and he said no as he didn't want to play in SPFL.
