Manchester City's back-up keeper Shay Given has refused to rule out a move to Scottish giants Celtic. Asked if a switch to the SPL would be a step down, he said: "Not if you're playing with Celtic, it's not. "It's a great club, with an unbelievable history, so I wouldn't look at it as a step down. Spoke with someone who seems to be pretty much in the know with regards to the S.American interests and he informed me that we are lookign at a striker who is an Int team mate of Izzy.
The guys name is Jerry Bengtson and he is a big free scoring centre forward who is lightning quick. Price is said to be around £300-400K.
Another find like Izzy would be outstanding. You heard anything on this guy Ed?

Is there any truth to the Owen to Celtic on a pay as you play ? Personally I guess I could see why he Mott want to go (celic being a huge team and playing good football under Neil Lennon). Don't see it happening tho. {Ed007's Note - I doubt he will come to Scotland as there are still EPL teams interested and willing to pay more than us. Owen will do what he always does and follow the money. As for a pay as you play deal, this seems to be a myth that people are latching onto, it is very rare for a player to sign under these conditions as most clubs insurance covers serious injury to players}
