Not wanting to judge the Swiss CH Schar on 45 mins but I hope the rumours of us going for him are not true he's no better than anyone we have at CP.

Got too disagree with you. He got beat in air a couple times big deal lol, some of his passes were excellent for a CH . also really calm on ball not too mention good experience.

So are you judging him on 45 mins or not patdabhoy? Because he is better than people we have at CP. Compper is one. Simunovic is two. Ajer is three albeit I'd like to see him continue to progress. Hendry is four.

I haven't seen enough of the guy to comment. He did well against Brazil but Mitrovic totally bossed him last night.

{Ed007's Note - We call it MOTD Fever, people watch a game and see a guy score a couple of goals like Ahmed Musa and they're on forums saying he would be a good buy etc. You can't judge a player on one or two international games whether it's good or bad performances we're seeing.

Schar has always been a solid CB. Would be a step up on what we have as mentioned by Jim Tim. But I doubt after the World Cup he will be coming here. We need another quality CB in soon for the qualifiers but we will probably sell before that happens with Compper and Jozo being the obvious choices. I think Boyata will want away if he gets a EPL team wanting to sign him. So we may need 2 CB's.

That's my thinking Bravetart. I'd like to see one to come in and play with Boyata or Ajer . If Boyata leaves, hopefully two. Compper was just a strange signing. And say we get a game after a European tie on an artificial surface, that rules Jozo out. Hendry should be ok developing in domestic games. But we need four CBs who we can rely on ideally.

I think Boyata has had a decent few games at the WC so if anyone came calling surely we could command a decent fee. If he and the others went then ideally it would be good to buy an experienced CB to help the young ones out and maybe buy a rated prospect too.

I think BR likes a CB with a bit of pace which is why boyata gets the nod over other CBs at celtic. Schar looked steady, composed n a good defender but maybe not the quickest and that's what we have at the club. If we play high up the pitch in games have oil tanker CBs is a problem n how big jozo n Erik got into bother.

Hearing that Brendan Rodgers was being touted as Mauricio Pochettinos replacement at Tottenham but because he wouldn't leave Celtic, Tottenham blocked his move to Real Madrid.
