Would just like to point out to all the fans who said we need a creative midfielder. We do not what we need is 2 out and out wingers.one for the left and another to push wee forrest,to get the best out of him. This was easily shown at the weekend that once team are streched broony,hooper,forest get into fantastic postions and create loads of opportunities. We don't need a creative midfielder we just need to stop playing everything through the middle of the park. A think a good left winger is a must.would be the thing a would look for if a was lenny. Thoughts

At least 1 winger and a creative mid would be good and a left back to push izzy

Mackay-Stevens would be a good signing.

Could do with a left winger but if you go to the games every week you'll see us whip cross after cross in and there's nobody there to header it in I know Hooper scored a couple headers there but wot ppl are looking for is something a bit different as well cause brown Ledley wanyama and kayal are all defensive mid players

I think we could do with both a left winger and a creative midfielder,we need to build from a strong position and having more attacking options available to us (especially in europe) will give us more chance of winning games.....home & away.

We have a limited amount of money why buy players to push someone we need starters not squad players ,,,, deep river bhoy

Kriss Commons is the best left mid/winger in Scotland, when he plays there. Can we get anyone better? Meastro8
Agree1

Don't like commons on the wing personally not quick enough much prefer him behind the strikers

A bit of reality guys on here please........... When people ask why Hooper would not want to go to the prem when hes in last 16 of Champs league...take a deep breath and think. he has 2 more games befoe you exit the competition. You have done so well to get this far but im afraid Celtic really are punching above their weight now and doubtful get to this stage again next year.
Celtic havent offered the reported 25k and thats from a very good source down here in London.
If a team thats not in the relegation battle comes in for Hooper he'd be mad not to go ... probably 30-40k wages and a chance to play Man utd , Arsenal , Chelsea , Liverpool , Spurs week in week out.
You are also forgetting the EPL is by far the best league in the world .
HL {Ed007's Note - The EPL is definitely NOT the best league in the world. The Bundesliga is by far better, it has better quality throughout the league, better ran clubs and the clubs treat the fans better and with a respect sadly lacking throughout the English top flight. The only thing that makes people think it is better is because of Sly's presentation and marketing that tells you it is the best, plus if it wasn't for foreign players every team would play like Stoke, hence why very few English players have the technical ability to play in any foreign league.}

Spot on Ed. sly and M.O.D do a good job of telling you it's the best league in the world....that's why Engerland do so well in world cups & Euros. Ed - any idea what the offer on table is for Hooper? And if the board have a bit of flexibility to meet Hooper's demands? Ian L {Ed007's Note - I don't think it is down to money as in wages etc Ian, the negotiations have been going on for over a year now so there must be something else, perhaps Hooper's agent wants a release fee/clause included, that is getting more and more popular and was the stumbling block over Forster signing full-time, plus remember Hooper and his agent done everything they could to try and get a move back south during the summer.}

Well said Ed , fed up listening to arrogant English ****s putting Celtic down , the 2 biggest spending English clubs are out , Celtic are still in despite spending next to nothing , Spanish and German football is by far more superior and better to watch than the EPL , unless Gary Hooper moves to Man Utd , it is a move down , time you English had a word wae yourselves , your National team will win as much as ours , hee haw !! The EPL is 3rd in my eyes, Bundesliga and La Liga are far more competetive and better leagues to watch, Serie A is actually more entertaining than Stoke v Wigan etc. I do enjoy watching Everton but I hate being told what the best football to watch is.

Great reply ED . I think the English league is good but there are only three teams capable of winning the title & two of them have spent over 400 mil in transfers. It's overhyped & overrated. For me the best league has to be in Germany where any one of about 10 has a chance. As for hooper let him go and fight relegation he will end up back in the championship. I believe John Park will have another gem to replace him.

Very intelligent and concise reply Ed.
The SLY brainwashing plus the sugar daddies have followed the NFL/NFC model while Germany and Holland for example have stuck to pure footballing philosophy and flourished. Sadly a lot of English fans believe the Hype and Raz, but if you watch the majority of EPL games without the top 4/5 it is dire.
There is also a few deluded English managers like Redknapp and Allerdyce etc who have been given zillions of pounds over many years and have achieved a lot less than managers of teams from smaller countries with much smaller budgets.

I was reading some of the replies to me post earlier and the words " Hooper is just a good poacher" comes up quite alot.
I would say the 2 quality passes for Broony and wee James say otherwise. He can pass, header and score with both feet. Offer him top dollar and try and make him an offer he cant refuse.
If i thought i could treble my wages elsewhere, i would be off too!

He is an important player for us but i wouldn't break our wage cap for him. Broony and Ledley are the 2 highest earner on 25-26k I think Big Vic and Hooper deserve that much but not a penny more. If that isn't good enough for Hooper then he can chase his self to the premiership.

Anyone know roughly how much broony and ledley are on a week? For me Gary Hooper deserves to be right up there as a top earner cos he's a proven quality Celtic striker and for raking in close to 30m from the cl a don't think 30 grand a week two or three year contract would go a miss. Everybody else says he ain't interested, well did you think that all this dragging on with deals and having to sit about waiting on Celtic n having numerous agent meetings could be mentally effecting the guy? The boys scoring goals for fun and lets be honest there is probably players in that team who are getting higher wages than him but have performed less than Hooper in the last 2 years

It's a fine line balancing wages. Broony is the club captain and had lots of offers before he signed.Ledley was a freebie and as such commanded a big wage with no fee payable. Hooper cost around 2m and to be honest 25-30k pw would be my offer.Maybe a big bonus tie in for goals scored?..........green jhedi

I heard Broony and Ledley were on 30k a week. I think its only right that if we are demanding 10 million for hoops the least we could do would be pay him in line with the top earners.

Tickets on sale 15th Jan. 49.00 which personally I think is too steep. As always we will get behind our team but for a lot of fans this price is ridiculous. I have to travel from Wales and in this recession its becoming expensive.
