I really hope this is true , there is to many fans who slag the board in not getting good players , this lad will put bums on seats

Could hope for better of course but given some forwards we've signed in the past half a decade this will be a great signing. Good goalscorer. Finds himself there for the tap-ins but can stroke the ball in from 18 yards. A very clever finisher. I'd be pleased with this signature. Kept an eye on Belgian footy for a few years now and since people on here have mentioned him kept a particularly close eye on him at Boro last term. If we punt Stokes and get a goalscoring wing forward in, such as Delgado, we'll be looking better in the forward department after one window. It's just nice to get players in, like the lads in January, that you almost know will improve the side.

I'm the same he will do a job and better option than a lot of previous signings but bums on seats? He's hardly a marquee signing But a good player!

So jd88 were did u hear a fee agreed for vossen? Hope your rite bud! Defo a proven goakscorer! And yeh he's not a marquee signing but for once we'll be getting a guy who's proven!

Stuart slater was a good player. He was a winger but we played him upfront. God knows why we did that. Think he was a Liam Brady signing too

Would be a great signing if true.

Personal terms then a medical? Hopefully its not crap I've been told, but the guy usually is spot on with his info. He knows were the net is and had a small set back and played as a number 10 at Middlesbrough, basically he was played out of position hence the small return on the goal front. With our system he would bang them in every week, also has a good European tally 18/34 games some in the CL.
Pre season starts next week and expect 2 players in, with a few more in the pipeline.
Could be a good early summer for us while the zombies scrap the barrel .

I agree he will score goals but never worthy of the number 7 jersey! I'm happy if we get him just unsure how well he will do

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2015 00:14:09
if he comes ,just give the guy a chance,whats all this not worthy of the number 7 jersey,sos do you think larsonn was worthy of jinky's jersey,give him a chance,if he's worthy of it he will earn it.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What did Juninho and Zurawski do to earn wearing the No.7, were Robbie Keane or Miku worthy of it? Miku!!! It's only a shirt number and all they are these days are part of the player's brand, another way to make money off young supporters.}

23 Jun 2015 00:16:31
Number 7 jersey is just a worthy as any Celtic jersey no matter what number you have on your back you should be able to play to the level us as Celtic fans expect of you.

So wether it be 7, 77, or 87 if he improves the team welcome aboard.

Any updates on this Ed.

{Ed007's Note - That HITC site is just made up garbage.}

23 Jun 2015 11:47:39
I personally feel our number 7 jersey should be saved for a player who deserves it and I know many others have wore it I feel we should reserve it for a player who earns it like a sort of token of honour to any player who can fill one of the Kings boots!

Can't see that on there marco. The same site had there manager quoted as saying he was likely to leave just yesterday.

23 Jun 2015 12:39:00
The no 7 jersey should have been retired after jinks left or larsson and since it wasn't then it its just another number now as some of the previous wearer where average players .

here is the link buddy, Jelle Vossen to stay with Genk

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We won't be putting links up to that site, all it is is hit-whoring garbage.}

23 Jun 2015 13:25:25
Just seen it marco mate. That site does just put two and two together half the time I feel but a quote is a quote. Seems strange two such contrasting quotes in the space of 24 hours. I think the deal will go through but that's just a feeling.

Supposedly Swansea want VVD, I think the Swansea owner has the balls to spend the cash we are looking for! He done it with bony!

How many EPL teams is that now? Off the top of my head we've had Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle, Southampton Norwich and Swansea. As long as we have him for the qualifiers. Then again, if a team comes in for him that he won't be cup tied in Europe, is there any point him leaving? His price will probably half next season and I reckon PL would find it impossible to turn down an eight figure bid though.

22 Jun 2015 11:08:52
I agree jim! We need to sell and re-invest and make as much as possible I think we can get 10-12m and if we invest I'd be happy I like big VVD but can understand his frustration at being over looked for Holland because of our league!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 13:34:01
I agree great player for us but sell him now and bring some one in before we start in Europe so he can settle in with Boyata at the back No use keeping a player that wants to leave

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 21:00:46
I'd prefer to keep him for another season and hopefully he will help get us to group stage and have a decent showing in the group stages.

Yes this would mean his value would go down but the CL money would easily compensate for that.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jun 2015 13:28:04
Thats where I stand rab but I think january might be the best time to sell. That way we have him for qualifiers and groups. A good showing in the groups should maintain his price and in january there might be one of two sides that bit more desperate for a CB. With all this SKY money burning holes in EPL clubs pockets they all seem to be waiting for one another to play their hands. Early days yet but I reckon there'll be a few English clubs splashing the cash come the new year.
