Looks like the Barca B player we are in for is Sergio Buenacasa. Playing tonight for a Celtic XI against Cork City. 17 year old Striker/winger.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Dan Twardzik, who is a goalkeeper, and also the older brother of Filip and Patrik, is on trial also. Was released by Aberdeen at the end of last season after they signed him in January.

ED007 have you any information on a striker called Yannick Sagbo of French side Evian, apparently he is available for just £2m, he is a strong powerful player from the Ivory Coast and could be worth a punt at that sort of fee. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - He is set to join Hull Tim.}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Timalloy - I am pretty confident we were looking at him - he played in the Cup Final I France, ad neil was at the game. As I have noted on here already, there are several players at Evian who we should be looking at. Jean-Pierre Laguerre

Replacement for Hooper suggestions guys? I'll start Hyun-jun suk 6'3, 21 year old republic of Korea striker. Wouldn't cost the earth, lives up to our transfer policy and also let's us tap into the Korean market of fans once more. Jean-Pierre what do you think mate. You seem to know your stuff, have you heard of this boy.

I believe we should be bringing someone in regardless of what hooper does. Stokesy can't lead the line, balde is still raw, watt could be out on loan. Rhodes / Austin. But I can see us waiting to see if we qualify. very risky!

Agree0 Disagree1

Good player but I feel he is too similar to Balde

Agree0 Disagree0

He just signed with al-ahli

One big man is enough for now IMO. How bad is Austin's knee? Hasn't seemed to have had many recent problems. I do agree with Darren about tapping distant market. Hopefully Mr. Park unearths another gem.

Ontario Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

We should look at the DPRK, I'm sure North Korea have their national team train 16 hours a day lol

Agree1 Disagree1

We need another striker no matter wot hooper does.who I don't know but let's hope hooper is away asap as I believe he wants to run deal down

Agree0 Disagree0

Charlie Austin
and a guy already at Celtic park, Watt did you say?

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin is doubtful I just can see it happening. Isn't watt going out on loan? Or was that just paper rubbish cause I can't see lenny playing him in pre season the way he has of if he getting put out on loan

I would suggest looking closely at Chieck Diabaté - a big 6'4'' bruiser from Bordeaux. he is a Malian international, good technically, and only 24/25. Not sure if he will score 20+ goals a season, but could be very effective indeed alongside Balde (kind of in the style of cisse and Ba at newcastle). A real handful for any defence - very strong physically. Scored the winner in the cup final in france. jean-Pierre Laguerre

Darrenbhoy: I haven't heard of the korean guy - sorry. Normally watch french, german, belgian (and some dutch) games, so keep an eye on guys in those leagues who I think might suit us. Also watch the african cup games when I can, due to a lot of their guys coming from France. jean-Pierre Laguerre

Agree0 Disagree0

What about the two Isreal player. Tomer Hemed (26) or that Omer Damari (24) guy we were linked with before?

How about tapping the eastern european market instead of the far eastern?

Surely some young gems from Bulgaria/Romania/Poland/Latvia etc etc etc

Dungannon Celts

Agree0 Disagree0

Dungannon I agree, any untapped market for us and we should be thinking of tipping our toes in. Polish football seems to be on the rise now though. So players might be a wee bit dearer

Celtic to buy Jamie Mackie £1m

Believable4 Unbelievable36

Please let this be a wind up the guy is terrible my 1 year old has a better touch than him

Hoopybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's true. Think this would be a great signing if hoops goes. Mackie is direct and strong - think he would link up well with stokesy.

Agree0 Disagree3

Surely we have to be looking at better quality than this! Over the last couple of seasons I feel our signings have been poor - Bangura, Lassad, Miku, Ambrose. I'll reserve judgement on the latest 2, but we need to try and get a better balance. We can't always just buy young players either, we can't just have the mentality that we are buying players for the future/to make a profit. the overriding criteria has to be quality, and for the present as well as the future. We has recently sold Ki/Wanyama/potentially Hooper, if we can't go and buy, - say 3 players(under 25) at roughly 4 million each there is something far wrong! Is it just take, take, take? We have to be prudent and ambitious. We are one off the biggest clubs in the world, if we acted as such players might wan't to stay a bit longer/be more likely to sign for us. Paul

Agree1 Disagree0

Hear what you are saying Paul, but if we could sign him we could turn over a profit plus I think he could get on the end of Charlie / Emilio Commons crosses. He would lift his game coming to us and at £1m would be decent return.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokesy and mackay up front? I can't imagine much worse jimmy.
