Rumour has it that the five-year contracts signed by the likes of Whittaker and McGregor are with the parent company, Rangers FC Group (ex-Wavetower) not RFC PLC. If true, that would break SPL rules on third-party ownership. And potentially mean that Rangers would lose every point they've won this season with "unregistered" players in their team. Like . . . every one of them. Which would put them on -10 points.
Supposedly this info came from an ex-Rangers player who is still involved with the club.

Believable18 Unbelievable20

Cannot see this being true. It would involve the players, the players agents and the players solicitors all agreeing to this. No chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye and this source (ex player ) just loves going about slavering Shyte to you?! Away ye go ya tool belt!

Agree0 Disagree0

Same thing happened at Melbourne Storm, WITHOUT player knowledge. Directors were found guilty and banned/charged accordingly with 2 premierships stripped.
They had all points stripped and finished last that year. In fact, word got out this was happening and a few lucky punters put bets on for Storm to finish bottom (they were on top at the time) and they were allowed to keep their winnings. So put a fiver on Rangers to finish last, you never know.

Some bookmakers have suspended betting on SPL relegation.....coincidence?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope they were already registered they bot had 1 year left on the contract so it wont happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see it, the manager is doing really well and the scouting system is top notch. we dont need anyone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still hurting ? long may the pain continue, thats what happens when you win tainted titles :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Rangers tax case and financial dealings had anything to do with Martin ONeil blowing his last two titles think it was the teams bottle crashing unless wee Mc Donald got a back hander from the Gers for the priceless goal....always cheated....lol...

Teddyboy...WATP....

Agree0 Disagree0

I have first hand knowledge and can assure you that this almost happened 6 months ago but the current position is that Neil is in regular dialogue with Gordon but nothing more.

CHARLIE Mulgrew has earned his first full Scotland call-up, after being included in Craig Levein’s 24-man squad for the friendly against Slovenia at the end of the month.

The accolade is just reward for the defender’s outstanding form for Celtic throughout the current campaign, and indeed, during the latter part of last season.

Whether deployed at centre-half or left-back, the 25-year-old has excelled, becoming one of Neil Lennon’s first names on the team sheet and a fans’ favourite.

And it’s not just in the defensive department that he’s made a valuable contribution, with his dead-ball ability a potent weapon in the Hoops’ attacking arsenal, a fact visibly demonstrated on Sunday as he scored a trademark free-kick from distance which helped Celtic to a resounding 5-0 victory.

Scott Brown and James Forrest make up the rest of the Celtic contingent in the squad for the clash away to Slovenia which will be held on Wednesday, February 29.

About time too.

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of unsung praise this guy has. only one of the back four consistant all season while others have let us down. guy the guy a chance and praise he deserves

Agree0 Disagree0

Alright Jamesybhoy, calm down. The lad is just very excited about what's happened to him. A Scotland call up is huge for some folk. Yeah, nobody is saying he is a great defender but he HAS earned his chance so I would thinks its beneficial for the hoops and Scotland to get behind him and hope he does well. I actually cringed when I heard he was coming back to the hoops but he hasn't been too much of a liability (so far). Confidence breeds success.

Agree0 Disagree0

About time levien got round to giving him a call up, instead of searching every english players family tree.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant wait to see mulgrew,forrest and broony
in a friendly match in Koper!

Fair enough it looks and sounds sort of impressive but we already have plenty of our own original and more relevant chants/songs.

Is that because you can't come up with your own songs etc?!! (like Walk Alone & the Poznan)

with news coming to light of rangers players signing contracts with rangers fc group (formerly wavetower) instead of rangers football club plc, this breaks uefa and sfa rules on 3rd party ownership, meaning these players are potentially 'unregistered'

i can see why whyte went down this route, as it would put these players outwith the assets of the club when they went into administration, but once again, he obviously hasn't a clue regarding the rules of the game

Ed, would this potentially be a similar case to Sion with league points deducted for every game in which these players took part?

taco {Ed001's Note - possibly, if it was proven to be 3rd party ownership. But the probability is that the club would have checked the legality of it before allowing it to be done. It is a completely different situation from Sion, who knowingly and wilfully ignored a transfer ban and continued signing players. I am not sure UEFA would be too bothered that the club and players were registered under the same overall umbrella, so long as no one else had any part ownership of them. Especially as it is not banned on the continent, not even sure if it is in Scotland, having looked it is purely an English FA thing.}

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Carlos Tevez played for West Ham when he was owned by a third party and it was challenged by team that was relegated instead of west ham that year but west ham won the battle

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed

i'm assuming that the 3rd party rule is that if they have no connection to the club

just looks like whyte's putting assets beyond the reach of creditors once again

the tevez thing was a strange one, wasn't there about 4 people who all claimed to have financial interest in him?
but i think his was more to do with image rights

taco {Ed001's Note - yeah, his registration was held by an individual rather than the football club, which is why England altered their rules.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Their registrations must have been cleared by uefa and spl to play in their competitions. your hoping for something that isnt there ya plank {Ed001's Note - UEFA never cleared the registrations of the Sion players.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed yeah your right they didnt clear sion players registration they refused too clear them. but i still dont remember uefa objecting to any rangers pldremayers registrations. do you or are you hoping for something that doesnt exist like the first poster dream on dhims rangers will never die and the truth is you cant hack it {Ed001's Note - no, I was just pointing out that you were incorrect, UEFA do not check the documentation they are given or they would have just refused Sion entry this year.}
