Ed can you set the record straight on how much was received for Ledley?

Believable3 Unbelievable10

{Ed007's Note - According to Ed002 it was £3 million. Personally I find that hard to believe for a player with six months left on their contract but I have no reason to doubt her information. If we got that fee it's a great bit of business by Peter Lawwell.}

Would b interested in finding out who Turkish striker was any ideas folks

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's true ed it looks like PL has managed to come through another window making a profit.

{Ed007's Note - It' a great deal Marky. I give him plenty of abuse but when it comes to bringing money into the club through transfers I have to take my hat off to him.}

Great .bit of buisness. That means we didn't spend a penny in transfer windiw 2mill for johanson and 1mill Griffiths. Thers a surprise
Infact probably made money with loan deals going out. Why tell fans we can afford 6 mill on a player when clearly we cant

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, if that was the fee we got for led then its amazing.
can u confirm against the £800k quoted everywhere else
elsewhere, understand that Griffith's wage is approx. £6k with the usual add ons
he s happy and burstin a gut to prove the doubters wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I can't confirm it 100% but Ed002's line of work means she is privy to information us mere mortals can only dream about. A few folk have said Griffiths is on £6k and some have said it is £7k so you are in the right ballpark Stevo.}

I am usually one of the first to slate PL, so if this is true my hat is off to you PL, credit where credit is due! hopefully we will have a good war chest come the summer.

BarryBhoy &ed. agree barry fantastic bit of business and to ed yes I would take my cap aff and eat the b''terd for that fee. Sure palace money men would have looked at the (or more likely grinned at the wage costs +the transfer and thought. ok. we have swooped and saved on ledlys market value all in). Unfortunately I can't share your optimism regarding the war chest. It is sadly more akin to its literal name. It's happened in the summer, noises of a big transfer and more notably in this window it reared its ugly head again. I think lennon is being udernined by the board. I think he will take his records and leave in the summer.sammy will have his cl heroics rewarded with his contract paid till its completion (which part of me doesn't grudge. He was a big part of the success and revenue we generated last year particularly in the qualifiers which gave us the belief and head start. and ill probably be at his testimonial for the piss up alone! With the usual wax lyrical patter attached to the occasion aided by overindulgence. of that ime sure)
Sammys been mince and couldn't tempt a team for 250k which if offered I think would of been taken and jo went as expected . the percentage of club profit bonus went up a tad, for the board. a percentage club profit defined bounus went up a tad also.
To be honest i'd be surprised if they haven't already got a plumber into thier gaffs to fit an evian mineral water supply . Mare cash tied up than a poor contorshiest strip act that takes money up front. be

@McStayBhoy Apparently the player wis Cenk Tosun. Never heard of the lad, but just had a look at him on Transfer Markt. 22 year old German-Turk playing CF (also capable on either wing as both footed) for Trabzonspor valued at €6m; 170 starts, 34 sub apps, 92 goals, 28 assists? Seems a player, but I highly doubt there ever wis a bid if that's his value and Griffiths wis aware of interest since December. Sounds like a bid "from an unknown agent, from an unknown club, from another universe!"

There have been big differences about the fee we received for Ledley. Everything between 700k and 2.5m
Any official confirmation on the amount?

Believable2 Unbelievable8

To be honest it doesn't matter what the fee is. It won't be added to the fake transfer pot and it won't be put towards a marquee signing so wether it's 700,000 or 2, 500,000 all that we should be concerned with is losing a good player.

Agree1 Disagree1

@chrisbhoy I doubt we will ever find out true value.

@pedrobhoy your right mate. Think it was a PR stunt about a marque signing and Griffith was getting signed all along

Well Griffiths said in his interview yesterday he first heard of Celtic interest in December. So fair to say it was planned all along.

According to sly, palace paid 2.5 mill? Doesn't matter though! Will cost far more to replace a tried and trusted player like joe

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Pedro: finely put amigo :)

Ledley wanted 30k per week to stay. Now he wasn't that good that Celtic should break there wage structure to keep a player. Least we received a fee no matter what it was.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clyde 1 said it was 500'000 and I would happen to believe this is nearer the mark, but as you say who cares lied to again,

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are the fees undisclosed or mired in confusion. Who has the right to keep this hidden? aren't the accounts open. Sopotcelt.
