Celtic XI v Hearts: Forster; Lustig, Ambrose, van Dijk, Izaguirre; Brown, Biton, Ledley, Mulgrew; Commons; Stokes
Subs: Zaluska, Samaras, Boerrigter, Balde, Rogic, Pukki, Fisher
Seems really defensive a we'll come on u Bhoys in green
Hope we get a confidence boosting win today, scoring a few goals.
Not convinced with this line up against a bunch of kids. Half that bench should be starting todays, preferably would like to have seen an attacking 4 3 3 with pukki, boerrigter and balde the top 3, brown, ledley and biton in midfield and the back 4 as it is
Just thinking, surely loaning some players to Hearts would be a great idea for January, get the likes of Tony Watt back from Lierse, McGeouch and any other young talent with high hopes, god maybe even Bangura instead of sending him abroad.
Ed 007 never posts my replies, but I think this is a great suggestion. Daviebhoy77
{Ed007's Note - This is the first post in our logs that you have posted (were you blocked?), or at least left a name on (hint, hint) See now we know what Daviebhoy77 thinks, if it had been anonymous who would have cared what you thought? Anonymous points are meaningless and best just ignored.}
Like idea of loaning players but not hearts as a wouldn't help they c*nts

After today's performance maybe Kev. T should leave team selection to Lenny after all.
Still relishing it.
Sunny Jim.
It can't be a coincidence we have a display like that when forest and samaras are missing.Lets keep it like that and get rid of mulgrew as well.
Was MULGREW not playing
Sunny Jim - wouldn't dream of telling Lenny what team to pick. I did however state above that I was hoping for a confidence boosting win with a few goals.
It was however an opportunity to play those lacking in confidence as Lenny put it against a team that is struggling big time. I think had we played Pukki and Balde that they would have scored a few and they both really need game time.
So u suggest no Forrest or mulgrew. And when brown is injured or suspended that leaves commons as our only scot? I don't like that.
ParadiseAndy.
P.S. Russell Mackay Steven Armstrong and gauld would be great additions to the team. Also Taylor Sinclair from the jags.
{Ed007's Note - Would it bother you having no Scots in the team Andy? I don't think I would mind at this point in time, it shows our worldwide scouting network is working plus we have a few young lads who are foreigners like Atajic. What do the rest of you think, is it important to you that CFC have some Scottish representation in the team?}
A defo like seeing scots in the team. Dnt kno why am not a fan of international football. A like seing Irish in the team aswel maybe it's to do with keeping your identity. A like to see a young scot come through the ranks more so than seeing a young foreigner in the team.
Commons isn't from scotland
If he represented Scotland a think is safe to call him a scot in footballing terms
Ed I firmly believe that Scottish players in our side benefits the team especially if they grew up supporting the team then they know the late great jock steins words in the dressing room are not just for show but the truth. The Scots can inspire and communicate to the foreign players just what it means to we the support and what is expected of them when.they pull on a Celtic top. Plus we are a Scottish side. We should have some Scots. And the talent is out there. Christ I'd take most of the Dundee utd Scots now. And Russell was one who should never have got away. I reckon I could make a great squad out of homegrown talent right now

{Ed007's Note - It's really not something that bothers me at this point in time. How would all these young Scottish players do in the CL next season, or when they have a few poor games and the support get on their back, which we all know happens?
That is part of the problem with Scottish football, youngsters are pushed into the spotlight far too soon and they either end up going off the rails, burning out in their 20s or spend a few seasons in the reserves for us or playing for some lower league English team only to be sold or released to join another mid-table SPFL or Championship team.
How many of Scotland's next big things actually realised their potential? It's even starting to look like a major task keeping Tony Watt's career on track.
I'm all for giving youth a chance but it needs to be done the right way and in a way to suit each individual player, look at Michael Owen, the amount of games he played as a youngster is the reason he had such an indifferent career after Madrid at the age of 26 and retired at 33. Remember Donnelly, Burchill, Liam Miller even JP McBride etc the list goes on and that's just from CFC.
Man Utd's Class of '92 will never be repeated again, just like our own record of the EC winners all coming from so close to CP.
And let's face it, our manager doesn't seem overly keen on brining our own youngsters through IMO. With no Rangers any more and their bastardised version in the lower leagues it should have been an ideal time to give some youngsters a few games, get them used to being around the first team and playing at CP.
For all we know one of them could grabbed his chance and went onto become a first team squad regular, with enough experience to play if called upon.}
Agreed most of Scotland's next big things never amount to what is expected of them but I have said in previous posts that I think that is a development issue with the players not at fault. I don't think enough is done with the youth to push them to the next level. Most that appear to have talent are thrown into the first team and like u said left to burn out. They never develop their talents or what is missing from their game rather. A la mcgeady. He never learned how to deliver IMO and more should have been done by the coaching staff
The youth are who inspire the younger ones to go for it and push to be in a similar position in the first team in the future. Replied via my mobile so because of my touch keyboard taking up most of the screen I duno if I messed up spelling or anything else. For me we should have a minimum of 3 Scots in the starting squad every week. Another 2 or 3 from Ireland England or Wales. Then the rest foreign. Just one mans opinion.
